    I have done reel repair and tested reels for a few a China reel manufacturers since 2014. I’ve had in hand and tore down 90% of all Japanese,Taiwan and Chinese manufactured reels. All the reels you reviewed were built in one of the three build houses in China but one thing you both totally missed was the Alloy-M is an aluminum framed reel compared to the others that are cheap plastic. The Alloy-M will outlast all of them by a mile. It is built solid with good parts and actually has sealed bearings on the pinion and tensioner with a NMB bearing on the side plate. I’m a Shimano guy through and through but I can vouch for the Alloy-M as it has impressed me more than any China reel that’s came across my bench in the last 5 years or so. My 2 cents.

      Yeah, we aren’t reel nerds. We’re reel rookies. So we go by feel and don’t sweat the mechanics too much. Thought we called that out, but I agree. Alloy M is the only one that made it into my current line up. Ill be using it on going.

    Cool video dudes! I'm not into Combos, but I bought an Abu Jorden Lee combo rod, but no reel. 6'6" MH fast $40 at the fishing expo. Paired with an Abu Orra winch 5:4 . That's great for cranks, swimbais , and bladed jigs. I also have an Abu Fletcher Shryork $199 combo 7'2" HM fast rod ,but no reel. Marked down to $78. Paired with a Lews 7:5:1 for jigs. It got me some bass dug out of the grass!

    Bro the CR80 is one of my favorite reels and i have all the SLX's. Funny thing is my CR80 is on the same medium spartacus rod in the video. I use it only for crankbaits and its awesome.
    EDIT: I should mention the guy i fish tourneys with that has like 6 Curados is always blown away how far i can cast a crankbait with the Daiwa and Spartacus combo. It CHUCKS crankbaits and jerkbaits. Nevermind i have the Daiwa CA80XS . CR or CA. Whos counting!?

    Longevity is the key for those price points. I had the alloy M and black max, both last 2 years for me. The drags went on them for me. I was fishing a 110 whopper plopper on the alloy m, caught a 4 lber and as I was reeling the drag slipped, fish was pulling drag. I adjusted the drag some more and when I went to reel the handle then slipped. I made two or three turns on the handle before the spool engaged. After I got the fish in, from that point on the drag made a clunky noise, and the reel wouldn’t always engage the spool.

    Hey guys, love you love your show I’m pretty sure Abu Garcia’s been around 20 years longer than Lews so when you call a rod design a Lews original you gotta remember Lews started 1941. Abu Garcia started 1921. Let’s Talk about production I believe Ryobi were one of their original manufactures and then each of them signed with different companies. They were with Shimano. They were with quantum, but the thing is with manufacturing these guys aren’t manufactures I think both gentlemen did a good job of going into the manufacturer and saying I want this this and this and left it up to an engineer with glasses and some tape on a classic nerd anyway just saying Majorities designed and made in Asia somewhere And me personally I’m swinging $499. Dollar combo and there’s $50 combos out there that if you had no clue, they said it was that or another thing and you didn’t know the price and they said it was more expensive. Would you know the difference probably not.

      @jnorth5689 doyo is korean. They still make most of the $250 and down reels at the doyo plant. Just like the $400 lews elite ti reels. People just dont realize it. There are a few still made in sweaden. I think there are 1 or 2 JDM models. Thats about the extent of what i know about abu and lews. They are great reels. Just not my cup of tea for one reason or another. People forget but 6 years ago or so you could literally swap spools and side plates between most lews and abu garcia models.

    Hey guys: Great info as always. One thing I’ve always been frustrated with when looking at (especially budget priced) rod and reel reviews on line is that although a lot of brands at this $$$ point have gotten better over the years people are expecting more in terms of durability and performance out of them than their price point would suggest. Thanks…🎣😎🐝

    • @aaanglers
      @aaanglers  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks! The reason we expect some level of durability is because they are still a $50-80 investment. If they are destined to fall apart, then just buy a $100+ reel that will actually last.

    Haven't watched all your videos, but you guys seem to always pick the $40 kastking reels to test (except the bfs reels). I use the updated Megajaws reels and have yet to have issues. They come in 4 gear ratios so every time I switch rods, the reel feels the exact same. At $71 they are a great middle of the road option. Plus you can often find them on sale for $61-$63. Try one sometime. I think you will be impressed.

    I've had all but the ark and handing in hand imo all are in the cheap budget gear that are just ok but i don't think they'll last long. The piscifun alloy m on the other hand after over a year fishing it is still just as it came out the box, mine has held up really well. I agree on the knobs though lol not my fav but do like the larger handle. I'll be changing the knobs on mine soon even though they've held up too. I think the alloy m probably would out last any of those reels due to the aluminum frame. Also think the alloy m is the only one in those that comes in 3 gear ratios. The diawa is a smooth reel, seems solid after a few months but does feel cheap 😂. I want the ca80 (carbon side plates and aluminum frame).

    I use piscifun reels exclusively. The most slept on one for bass is the carbon XCS. For a 200 size I like the torrent 2. For 300/400 size I love the Alijoz. I loved the alloy M until the carbon handlers separated in layers winching in a frog fish.
    When I made the choice, someone stole 4 Shimano Curado DCs out of my truck the night before I had to go prefish a tournament. Piscifun was able to get me reels out quick and the shipped from Indiana (I was in Ohio) so 2 day shipping. Now they also offer Amazon next day shipping. Or even better overnight before noon.
    Are they better than expensive reels? No. But at 1/5 of the price I could get 5. With little maintenance they’ve lasted me great.
