Ok, y’all the cheeseburger he made looked so good! It reminded me of watching commercials on the tv for a restaurant promoting their item on the menu. I know that burger was good; but also the cinematography of all the foods on the menu were beautiful.
I read the original script to this movie (blacklist script). There was a whole heap of changes and it actually ended up better and the way she survived makes more sense (in the original script, Margot wasn't an Escort. One of quite a few changes.) original casting for this was Emma Stone...now if Anya and Emma played sisters, my God, the fabulousness would be amazing.
@@zzavid5911 Yeah, I'm guessing she dropped out due to the pandemic because she was cast in 2019, and Anya replaced her in mid-2021 when COVID settled down and could look for replacements
the other day though I read someone's comment where they said that the reason Margot survives is because of the true nature of her profession. The true part of being an escort (ok this applies more to a courtesan which of course is different that just being a regular prostitute) is making their clients feel good about themselves. That doesn't mean just giving really good sex in the various ways you can, and that doesn't mean just stroking their ego (or anything else). The clients pay for an escort or a courtesan's company, not just his/her body, and that's why they pay them so much because they make them feel good about themselves. Same to a degree with being a geisha - someone wrote about being in a tea house with a geisha and feeling himself be seduced just by her conversation. This person pointed out that her job has been degrading and meaningless for her same as the chef's job has for him, make worse by the fact that her client hired her just to kill her like she wasn't even human. She survived that night because she made him feel good about himself and brought back just a taste of his passion for his work. I'm still wondering what her job was in the original script, but when you think about it like that her being an escort is kind of significant to the plot.
I first saw Anya in The Witch. It was amazing and so eerie. Partly because of her, she’s so mesmerizing but at the same time she brings a lot of spookiness to the set. Even when she’s the protagonist. You should totally watch The Witch, zzavid!! Love you so much!
I love how Voldy just pulled the reverse Marie Antoinette move on the second dish and Tyler was still like "um yes queen skinny legend versace boots the house down slay queen hunty mama and oop daddy work charli xcx snatch my wig"
fun facts about the movie: in order to play one of the chefs in the background you had to have real restaurant experience. and when you see them cooking in the movie, they are actually cooking and all the food was real, so no more actor's being given food and not eating any of it. oh and anya was my bi awakening. literally saw her in unbreakable when i was 7 and i paused it to stare at her.
Anya Taylor-Joy is an amazing actress. She owns every roll she's in like a icon. This was one of my favorite movies of hers by far! Thank you for all your amazing reactions as always Queen! They are always a highlight of my week 🤗🤗
She is amazing, but I this is one of her weaker roles in my opinion Her character was just so bland and predictable. She could had a much better and more interesting character.

I think this film to me got to me because of how it portrays multiple themes into one film that play off one another; from class divide, the relationship between the artist and their art, and the psychological impact of food itself.
Baybeee! I immediately started cracking up when you said “just give me some rice and beans.” You would so be the final girl in this crazy ass movie 😂. And I’m living and dying for the sweater, double collar and cameo necklace. Gorgeous combo.
As soon as I saw that tarp, girl. I love that this film doesn’t go where you think it’s going to go, my sick mind thought they would literally be eating the rich. The scene where she goes full Karen is my favourite, what is said without saying anything was brilliant, it was just two service workers, giving each other an experience that finally made them feel fulfilled.
Yeah the cannibalism idea was so obvious I'm glad the film took it in another direction while still able to point out the economic, class and societal commentary
Idk what this says about me, but the cheeseburger really was my favorite food item in the entirety of The Menu and I was nearly convinced to order fast food after that scene lmao. Love your reactions so much!!!
It says nothing, bc it makes the most sense. If you watch the movie, most of the dishes aren't shown to look necessarily appetizing. Ffs, the 'bread plate' is only spreads, no bread.
One thing about Margot dress that I absolutely loved is that the dress is normally without the lacy, so it shows that she had to put it on to make it more "apresentable" and "fit" to go to the restaurant, probably required by Tyler.
The cheeseburger represents to me how food can remind us of moments in our lives when things were simpler and the happy memories associated with them. But also it is the symbol of feeling a sense of fulfillment as we see Chef Slowik making it. Margot/Erin gave him the ultimate gift of reminding him of what cooking used to mean to him. Something that all the success and accolades Chef Slowik attained could not do. 🍔
This movie was so good🥰I love that the production team actually hired a food professional for this movie. All the food in the movie were made with real intention and not for satirical purpose so the chef actually made what Ralph Fiennes's character would be made for that specific occasion.
Yes they hired a real chef advisor to help design the artistic dishes based on the script. And every actor playing the cooks or working in the kitchen had to have a real life restaurant/kitchen experience or background, cause they were actually making food in real time. The attention to detail is amazing.

this film talks about social classes (high vs. low class). the chef is more likely teaching the ”high class” about lessons on how they easily take advantage of the lives from the “lower class” or basically the working or service class. it was absolutely confusing at first but the more i watched it, the more it made sense especially along the chef’s line, “do you wanna die with those who give or those who take?”, when he asked margo as she’s supposedly ‘not part of the plan’ due to her being under the service/working or “lower class.”
This reminded me a lot to Midsommar too: The music, the cult-ish vibes, the ending, the weird looking places, and mystery, and how everyone was weird as if that was a normal attitude to have.
Fun fact: me and Anya Taylor Joy were signed to the same modelling agency when we were in our teens. Pretty sure we were scouted around the same time too. She honestly has such a unique face! I love this film so much. It has so much to say about the commodification of art, and the need to sacrifice your passion in order to survive financially. It's the whole reason John Leguizamo's character was there, chef was fucking PISSED that he sold out on his art for an easy paycheck. I enjoyed how the "takers" were so used to being served and catered to that they weren't able to serve themselves enough to escape. They're essentially docile cattle. SO GOOD.
Lots to say about the service industry too. The angel investor that didn't even care about his artistry (tasting menus are very specific and curated). The "man's folly" commentary on the rampant sexism in the industry. And the way Margot survived because she reminded him of his joy and passion, making snacking food that made people happy. Ugh. Love love love.

As a small-time artist who has had a shop, I love this movie. I worked in the food industry and could not afford to go to school, but I learned 3d in my spare time through youtube, etc. I have gotten genuine critiques but I have also gotten the more nastier side of how people can be. topping that with me working in the food industry for scraps I understand how it feels to lose your passion. how crushing people can be without even knowing or acknowledging the words that they share could be like daggers or a bullet piercing the skin. the repetition and pain you put yourself into to learn your craft and have it be so easily manipulated or stolen from you. this movie felt as though it was a lot of working-class people in food, art, etc. who needed an outlet to share the pure anger or sadness they endure that's mostly the most underpaid. so many hoops you have to jump into, to hope you get noticed by blurry faces until you realize you work for them now. your craft and soul work for those you don't even see and thus you feel like a husk. but then anger boils in your stomach, and grows until finally, you wish to do nothing more than to snap on those who you feel made you feel so worthless. those who stole your love and joy for your craft. she understood and thus, she ordered a cheeseburger, because this time, it was her giving back to him something he once loved and had lost a long time ago. simple and good food to make you full and happy. sorry for this post, I know to ramble. but that's how i saw that movie. i know how it feels to almost lose the joy and love for your art because of all the blurry face's voices. also thank you ZZAVID for uploading your reaction, love your videos, they make me constantly laugh and forget my worries. i say coño constantly now.

LMAO
Apparently there's a story that EVERYONE was getting jealous of Anya during that scene cuz she was actually getting to eat food.
@@SeanStrifeYeah, and Leguizamo got Five Guys for everyone. 😂😂
Anya is on her way to being a horror legend mark my words.
same with mia goth
@@Yo1297 I need them in another movie together
@@perryjones7771 I would absolutely live for that. Just the thought has my wig orbiting the Aurora Borealis right now 🤯
Scratch horror; she's just on her way to being a legend.
I read the original script to this movie (blacklist script). There was a whole heap of changes and it actually ended up better and the way she survived makes more sense (in the original script, Margot wasn't an Escort. One of quite a few changes.)
original casting for this was Emma Stone...now if Anya and Emma played sisters, my God, the fabulousness would be amazing.
EMMA?! I’m trying to picture her in this and all I’m seeing is her saying UUUU BURN as she’s walking out the restaurant😂
@@zzavid5911
Yeah, I'm guessing she dropped out due to the pandemic because she was cast in 2019, and Anya replaced her in mid-2021 when COVID settled down and could look for replacements
hi! what was margot's job in the original script? and how did it end?
what was margot's original job? also i've always thought emma and anya looked kinda similar... love that
the other day though I read someone's comment where they said that the reason Margot survives is because of the true nature of her profession.
Have you seen Alanda Parker's reaction to that movie? It's so good.
@@lkf8799 I was going to suggest this!! one of my favs from her😂
@@lkf8799 I'll definitely check it out now. Thanks!
I first saw her on "split" and kind of weird that i ship her with james mcavoy in that film 😅
I first saw her in "Split" and she was so pretty in it 🤗
Imagine Voldomort making you think Voldomort was actually sane. This was it for me .
I love how Voldy just pulled the reverse Marie Antoinette move on the second dish and Tyler was still like "um yes queen skinny legend versace boots the house down slay queen hunty mama and oop daddy work charli xcx snatch my wig"
Omg 💀💀💀
‘Reverse Marie Antoinette’ is such a good way of putting it lmao
fun facts about the movie: in order to play one of the chefs in the background you had to have real restaurant experience. and when you see them cooking in the movie, they are actually cooking and all the food was real, so no more actor's being given food and not eating any of it. oh and anya was my bi awakening. literally saw her in unbreakable when i was 7 and i paused it to stare at her.
My bi awakening was Kevin Bacon in footloose lol
As a hospitality professional who has managed restaurants, hotels, etc., I LIVED for this film 🔥 When I say they ATE, they ATE.
Anya Taylor Joy is doing wonders for all the movies she graces. She makes it seem like Thriller/ Horror movie genres are constructed around her.
Anya Taylor-Joy is an amazing actress. She owns every roll she's in like a icon. This was one of my favorite movies of hers by far! Thank you for all your amazing reactions as always Queen! They are always a highlight of my week 🤗🤗
I definitely have many movies of hers to get through, but OH MY GOODNESS she gave me everything I needed up in this movie🙌
The fact that she can hold her own against Ralph freaking Fiennes in a scene… hot damn ❤❤❤
She is amazing, but I this is one of her weaker roles in my opinion Her character was just so bland and predictable. She could had a much better and more interesting character.
@@Roseforthethorns I WAS RIGHT, HE IS PLAYED BY RALPH FINNES!! The grand Budapest hotel is my faveee and he’s so different in that compared to this movie good lord 😭😭
@@zzavid5911 If you haven’t seen Queen’s Gambit, I highly recommend it. One of the best shows in the last 5-10 years.
Last Night in Soho was a lot of fun as well. I think you’ll dig it.
I’m a sex worker who used to be a chef. This movie *spoke* to me 😂
I don't know what that says about the market, but that sounds like a real experience.
Sounds like you have lived an interesting life
I think this film to me got to me because of how it portrays multiple themes into one film that play off one another; from class divide, the relationship between the artist and their art, and the psychological impact of food itself.
not gonna lie when the cheff was cooking the hamburguer and feeling finally happy about it, was kinda wholesome.
Baybeee! I immediately started cracking up when you said “just give me some rice and beans.” You would so be the final girl in this crazy ass movie 😂. And I’m living and dying for the sweater, double collar and cameo necklace. Gorgeous combo.
Cameo? Ooo I missed that. I love those
The dominican coming out😂
@@marecruz8147 i thought the same thing 😂!
I mean you can’t beat one of the ultimate comfort foods, and it just looked dumb good
I was craving cheeseburgers the whole week after watching this damn movie!!!
I felt the same way! I just figured it was because it was the only food I could identify!
It says nothing, bc it makes the most sense. If you watch the movie, most of the dishes aren't shown to look necessarily appetizing.
Ffs, the 'bread plate' is only spreads, no bread.
“He proceeded to wrap a telephone chord around her neck and pull it tight”
ZZAVID: 🤣🤣🤣
💀💀💀
Girly pop, are you telling me you haven’t seen The Witch?! That was Anya Taylor Joys breakout role, and is one of the best horror movies of all time, in my opinion. If you haven’t seen it you should definitely do a reaction!
bestie the power you hold over me lmao I'm literally using this video as my motivation to finish my work quickly so I can come back and watch it. I know it'll be worth it though, miss zzavid is serving every week 👏🏼

@@zzavid5911 it was everything I hoped for and more, thanks for being the highlight of our weeks boo keep up the good work

Watching Tyler fail at cooking is collectively the most satisfying and humiliating part of the movie.
If you want a more comedic Ralph Fiennes performance, I recommend Grand Budapest Hotel. Beautiful movie. And I definitely recommend Last Night in Soho.
Anya Taylor-Joy never misses. The Menu, The VVitch, Split... PERFECT Final Girl! The Menu is one of my fave movies from 2022.
Zzavid I have to say, I've been bingewatching your videos since I found your channel recently and you have been such a comfort! Your videos have helped me get through some bad times and I cannot thank you enough, lots of love from the UK!

this film talks about social classes (high vs. low class). the chef is more likely teaching the ”high class” about lessons on how they easily take advantage of the lives from the “lower class” or basically the working or service class. it was absolutely confusing at first but the more i watched it, the more it made sense especially along the chef’s line, “do you wanna die with those who give or those who take?”, when he asked margo as she’s supposedly ‘not part of the plan’ due to her being under the service/working or “lower class.”
This reminded me a lot to Midsommar too: The music, the cult-ish vibes, the ending, the weird looking places, and mystery, and how everyone was weird as if that was a normal attitude to have.
Yessss! I see your vision
Fun fact: me and Anya Taylor Joy were signed to the same modelling agency when we were in our teens. Pretty sure we were scouted around the same time too. She honestly has such a unique face! Sadly never got to know her well as I quit to go to university (why do I do this to myself lol).
She’s honestly killing it!!!!

Gonjiam!! Omg that movie scared the crap out of me.
i love this movie sm , it’s basically culinary midsommar
This movie has become one of my comfort movies. It is so funny. The “ tortillas delicioso” gets me every time
I love this film so much.
That exhausted look when the Chef claps, lol and those personal anecdotes that some of us can relate to..😂 Feels like we all have met at least one crazy guy in the bedroom who made us wanna go full Cassie from "Promising Young Woman", haha! Loved this reaction!!♥️
Gurl i watch their interview and apparently miss Anya improvised slapping Tyler when they revealed what they been texting, the writers originally wanted her to sit there and cry but miss Anya said “Female rage is the way to go no shade to you writer”
I love Anya! You really have to watch The Witch, Thoroughbreds, Last Night in Soho, The Northman, and Marrowbone. She is phenomenal in all of these films!
The Northman ! YES !
Yup the Queen's Gambit too.
She stole and saved The Last Night in Soho
Separating the guys and girls for P.E. was literal torture for me, because they used to put two classes together (60 students) for P.E. and THEN split up the guys and girls; and I was so annoyed and hated going to that class… and let’s us say I always came last because I never participated whenever we had to be split up
Ikrr like what is the reason…😊
*“A lot of recommendations for the same movie is usually one of those two things... either it's bad so y'all just rather watch me watch it so you don't have to waste the time or it's horrifying and I'm gonna be traumatized and y'all gonna have a laugh at my expense”*

I will never ever get tired of Zzavid calling out James Charles 😂😂😂
Tyler being unfazed by all the chaos had me 😦
I stopped watching your video in the middle, went and watched the original movie, and then came back. The detail in this movie is impeccable. Margo's dress wrinkles are consistent with how the dress would wrinkle if the movie was shot in real time.

“I’ve heard of a verbal dom top, but this is a lot!” absolutely took me out 🤣😂
I went into this movie convinced the big plot twist was gonna be cannabilism, but I found this movie refreshing. No cannabilism, no supernatural forces, just a man deciding the people who have degraded and destroyed his industry are going to die in the most pretentious way possible.

I think you've talked about watching Succession: the co-writer of the screenplay is a main writer for that and the director is a main director for it. Like this, nearly every character is a monster, but instead of violence it's mostly money, drugs, screaming matches, and occasional orgies. It's a family of Tylers, most of whom get repeatedly humiliated. It's fun!
