I have to make an unfortunate adjustment when holding my stamping tools because my left ring finger was cut off on a swab unit in the oilfields of South Texas.
As a retired pastor, I have been tempted to write a book titled 'Tips on Leather Work for the Disabled'. Due to other physical limitations, I have learned several ways to improvise with everything from tooling to sewing. I just need to get out of the mid-amatuer apprentice stage of tooling. Maybe then, I could attract a leather company that would take an interest in sponsoring me as a spokesmen to help those with special needs enjoy the wonderful world of leather crafting.
I love Jim and Elk Tracks Studio. He is a master leather artisan and legendary in the field. He is superior in his work and character.

Love the descriptive words (flow, shade, contour, etc.) They help to understand what is being created. Fantastic teaching delivery.
When we create, we are mirroring the likeness of God. From the beggining we immediately learn that God is a creator and expresses through creativity. When He completed His creation, He reviewed His handy work and said it was good! He was right!

Wish you would explain how you use the pear shader to work it to make the pedal flow.

Practice feathering while walking out the flow. Avoid just leaving just the impression of the pear. Move from the wide impression and funnel it out down the pedals and the ends of scrolls and leaves. The impressions you leave behind will often be the places your final decorative cuts will be.
I am an amateur-mid level apprentice. I'm still working on my pear shader after 6 years of work.

How about putting the camera at a different angle so we can see what you are doing?...

We will certainly consider that when we reshoot this video. Thanks.

The only way these tutorials could be any bette4 would be if he actually showed what tool he was using and demonstrated the technique while the audience can see what he’s doing.
