yeah, like, I'm horrendous in Mirco and thus will never play sc2 proper (direct strike is cool though, i have fun playing that) and could easily have done better than him, like his unit comp was perfect, all he needed to do was land the vikings after killing the collosi and itd be an easy win
i think he wouldve even won if he hadnt done anything at all and just let the units shoot on their own...
I don't even play StarCraft 2 and I feel like I got worse from watching this replay.

@@goul7712 ad blocker is an absolute necessity in this day and age. my brother refuses to use it, and I saw him use youtube a while back and they start doing DOUBLE ads now. fucking atrocious. They will probably start doing triple or quad ads, whatever they can get away with. just make 90% of your viewtime for ads.

Winters Stereotype on Terrans was more accurate then I gave him credit for.
As an awful terran player, I get that feeling of being unable to stim because you have ghost in the control group and you're too bad to realize you need to TAB after hitting the emp.
ghosts are not for F2-A-movers...just go marine/marauder/tank and 3 base-push. no late game.
People tell me go for ghosts, super strong unit. Sure, also ravens hah. Ideally both to counter what? Lurkers that just burrow and they're fine, equivalent of stimming your army.
Problem is you need ideally separate control groups for marine/marauder/medivac, separate for tanks, separate for ghosts and separate for ravens. Kinda too much for my Platinum skill. While my Zerg opponents will smile to my face with ling bane lurker :-)
@@Supergoon1989 well I gotta learn and get gud eventually lol. Usually the ghosts are in a second control group, but when a fight gets long and scrappy, a couple mysteriously end up in my main control group as well
just dont build ghost you dont need them ,when you are in diamond or masters you can think about ghosts

Skytoss players that disabled F2 hotkey on accident and don't know how to re-enable it just draw an arrow on the map with pylons or cannons to point the stargate fleet towards the enemy base, like some Nazca lines. See at 14:05 ;)
Comes with the territory. Terran is the race where things don't just work.
1 marine is bad, to make it work you either need 20 or research stim and combat shield. When you want to produce tanks, you need to build a techlab for every single factory. When you want to switch to Thors you also need to build an armory, but you still need to have techlabs on every factory. But not the same way as with the tanks, because if you build things too close to each other the Thor can't come out and you need to lift one of the factory and float it somewhere else(and build a new techlab and maybe destroy the old one). When you want to defend against a ground army, you don't build a defense tower, you build a bunker into which you need to put units that you already have. And when you absolutely need to have ground defense without using army supply, you must build an entire expansion and turn it into a big turret in a process that takes 3 minutes.
That's why I recommend protoss to people who never player starcraft before. Things just work as you think they should.
@@lagg1e Protoss is new player friendly for sure, people correlate that with the race being OP all the time, in that way I agree... Protoss can be picked up relatively quickly. The issue is people thinking they are losing because protoss has overpowered systems in every step of the way... Which isn't true... There is iconic abilities on each of the races that just need to be abused in order to win in low elo. Protoss has always had amazing timings, back in the day I would go diamond on pure win streaks literally just doing a 4gate against EVERYTHING. Terran has stim and medivac drops... As soon as the opponent is distracted just take out their mineral line, do it two times early enough and you win the game... Zerg has great economy and army reproduction.. Fucking blast out your base with a timing push and overrun your opponent... I think protoss can FEEL op when people that don't see the big picture feel like there is nothing they can do. If a protoss is ahead and they have an army walking you down it does FEEL bad. At the same time, when I'm ahead against a terran and I can't walk up to them due to their great defencive abilities it doesn't feel great for me either so.
This will go down as the biggest throw of all time.
If I lost like this and didn't understand the game I would cry imba as well.
dont forget the vikings: they had their minute of fame when they destroyed the colossi but then they just floated above the battleground until they got eradicated

Ngl that's a thought I had too. If he landed the Vikings the moment they killed collosi they would've casually cleared what was left of the army and he could have a moved through the protoss. Feels bad cause he really did decent before that just by not wasting early eco and getting his army out

Multitasking is fake anyway. You do one thing then you take a break and do the other thing. No human ever did a multitask, thats simply not possible. The trick is, to shorten that break in the middle, not to try to do two things.

The letter correspond roughly to a range of 10 percentage points each, an A is a score in the 90s out of 100 possible points, b is 80s, and so on. The usage of a D changes from location to location (some places use it to denote exactly a 70 while some use it for the whole 60 range as per the pattern previously mentioned) while an F usually just stand for failing grade and, again based on where you live, could be anything from a 69 to as low as 49. +'s and /-'s meanwhile are, once again, used dependent on location and denote the 2-3 highest and lowest scores in the 10 point range denoted by the letter. As an example of what we used at my school in the states: A+ is 100-98, A is 97-93, A- 92-90, B+89-88, B 87-83, B- 82-80, C+79-78, C 77-73, C-72-70, F 69-0. The letter grade would invariably include the actual percentage of correct answers right next to it making the letter themselves have little to no meaning anyway.
here in singapore a C is a 55-59 and a B is 60-69 and an A is 70 and above. a D is 50-54 an d an E is 45-49. it really does depend
here in BC, Canada, 85.5+ is A, 72.5 - 85.4 is B, (A and B does not have + or - ), 66.5 - 72.4 is C+, 59.5 - 66.4 is C, 49.5 - 59.4 is C-, 49.4 and under is F. C- is considered passing, but insufficient to count as having prerequisite for the next course. F is flat out fail.
Also, when it comes to calculating GPA, the letter grades are usually worth the following points:
A+: 4.33 or 4.0 (or nonexistent)*
A: 4.0
A-: 3.67
B+: 3.33
B: 3.0
B-: 2.67
C+: 2.33
C: 2.0
C-: 1.67
D+: 1.33
D: 1.0
D-: 0.67
F+: nonexistent
F: 0.0
F-: nonexistent
* - A+ poses a dilemma in that many schools don't like GPAs to go above a "perfect" 4.0. As a result, some schools either count an A+ the same as an A (4.0) or simply don't give out A+ grades at all. It should also be noted that different schools count the + or - grades slightly differently (e.g., 0.3 and 0.7 instead of 0.33 and 0.67).
Eggbert dropped into the main, then began killing a production pylon, down to nothing, then pulled out never killing the pylon, BIG MISTAKE> as the pylon would have been a HUGE inconvenience to the Protoss. He did this repeatedly... a cannon here, a shield emitter there... Killing all the sheild batteries just to leave when he could kill the probes... dumb stuff. LOL kills a pylon supporting three cannons just to pull out? What?
I think I saw harstems eyes glaze over while reading that book, there was certainly pain in his eyes if nothing else.

We have Ghost to B2, Ghosts 2-3 to C3, then finally Ghosts 1-3 to A4, setting up a nuclear attack. But Terran has made a critical error in that his strategy was to simply hope his opponent didn't see it. Protoss moves Observer to B4, captures the Ghosts, and has gained a significant material advantage.

That is not a bad thing. In my experience once you know how to play the game, thinking about it and watching replays is how you get better at it, compared to if you just play it non stop.

FYI on American letter grades: Each letter represents some percentage grade, which can differ per class, at the professor's discretion.
Typically:
A = 91-100
B = 81-90

I think this series is amazing but mostly because the people who are sending in replays seem to really think they are going to get something other than a "You Suck" stamp.
yeah right? I mean, come on! At some point people need to realise, that everyone gets a "suck" stamp. Whenever you lose, you sucked somehow, somewhere. But If you won, how can you complain about imbalances? Its simply not possible to not get the stamp.

I'm pretty sure if someone is sending in a replay they're fully aware of how the show works. It's free coaching for them.
The letter grading system kind of varies from place to place, but generally:
90-100 = A excellent grade
80-89 = B good grade
70-79 = C average grade
60-69 = D bad grade
0-59 = F failing grade
Usually a D is passing, unless it’s in an area of focus. So someone who is getting a degree in math would fail a math class if they got a D, but if that same person got a D in Philosophy, that would be a passing grade.
Most places don’t actually use the +/- system.
70-79 is average? If that's a % of questions gotten right that's huge considering the average lays much lower than that in most countries.

Letter grades correspond to percentage ranges. The exact values of the ranges varies from one school system to another. Where I went to school, many moons ago, they were this:
A = 92-100
B = 83-91
C = 74-82
D = 65-73
F = 0-64
A grade of C is considered average. A grade of D is passing.
Directly mapping a 0-10 grading system to letter grades would make 6 a failing grade. So it boils down to the grading curve. Since C is the average, assignment grading and test difficulty should be tuned to reflect that, using a standard distribution bell curve.
Always a good hour when harstem uploads
It goes from as A being the best grade to D being the worst passing grade, and F is fail. The plus or minus is just whether its closer to another letter grade, so a C- is a close to a D+, and C+ is close to a B-. What weird is there are also grade point average or GPA, a number grade that is average of your letter grades for all your classes. A is a 4.0, B is a 3.0, C is 2.0, and D is a 1.0, F is 0. Colleges look at the GPA. To confuse it all, in the class the teacher usually grades form 0%-100%, and assigned a letter grade for a certain range. For example, usually you get an A from 90%-100%, but the teacher can decide an A is 80%-100%, or whatever they want. So percent turns into a letter grade, the letter grade turns into your GPA.

As it turns out, move-commanding into your opponent's army for a solid 9 seconds until your army is 60% dead, before firing the first shot, indeed makes it possible to lose fights that could have never been lost otherwise!
