I have a pair of TR930 Spin Pros. They are definitely designed for people that hit with a lot of spin. If you're either a flat or moderate spin hitter, you'll likely have a lot more flyers than usual while hitting with it. However, if you're a big spin hitter, this frame will take your spin to the next level. It's like a Pure Drive/Pure Aero hybrid but with more spin.
@@harbilito4910 I usually string all my other frames with full poly in the high 40s-50 lbs, but the Spin Pro's string pattern is so open that it was hard to control at that same tension. I bumped it up to 55-58 lbs and it became much more controllable.
I have purchased 3 Artengo racquets to date - 2 TR500 midplus (102 sq. inch head) and 1 TR500 oversize. They are stiff racquets especially the oversize - it's too stiff for me to play with. The first TR500 midplus played great! So, I bought a 2nd one but the balance was different - the first was evenly balanced and the second was slightly head heavy. The TR500 line is a composite of graphite and balsa wood. The wood compresses when the ball hits the strings and, especially on volleys; you can feel it and it feels great as well as adds control. The TR500 oversize came prestrung very loosely with a poly string and felt harsh. It had gobs of power and was a lot of fun to hit with until my wrist and elbow started hurting. I had it restrung @ 55 lbs. with Head Velocity multifilament and the racquet played very differently. The harshness was gone but it was still way, way too stiff for me to comfortably play with unless I wanted to slice everything. These racquets are very stable because they are stiff. The addition of balsa wood to the graphite works well! Balsa is a very light wood that grows quickly because it has large membranes and that's why it compresses so much upon impact with the ball. The TR500 midplus was very comfortable even with the poly strings it came with. Soon I will have it restrung with a non-poly string and it will be interesting to see how the playability is affected with the different strings.
Hey there! Did you have any trouble with the grommets? I have just bought my racket today and certain grommets look quite deformed and they dont sell replacements in my country, do they break easily?
Andy, great to view another video produced by you… high quality, great analysis.. What is your current racquet of choice at the moment ? I have been hitting with the lab Swift 300 for months now with much success… Strung with Zero at 53…. Keep the videos coming. Ciao, John
Hey there my friend! I have just bought the TR990 POWER and I have noticed how cheap the grommets are, some of them are already deformed after playing 20 min, they dont sell replacement grommets in my country, should I return it? I received it as a present :/
@@s.m.5343 I have the 960, its definitely the better option for flatter, controlled shots. Theres still heaps of power, but depending on your level and the model of the racquet, I would recommend tweaking the setup if you feel that something is off
The decathlon rep told me that the 960 is more like a blade. The 990 is like a more solid comfortable puredrive, maybe they put some foam in the frame just like tecnifibres.

I've got spin pro, what string and tensions do you suggest for it?

@@JW-bw8nj my tension is 50lbs and i find it hard to hit the sweetspot, ill try your suggestions thanks
@@harbilito4910 The higher you go in tension the smaller your sweetspot becomes, so unfortunately going up to 55 or 58 lbs isn't going to help.
Hey anyway what string can you suggest for this one? Looks i got more used to this and starting to hit it with sweetspot more often

If you use polyester string put 38-40lbs on it. It's works well

Hi is there a way to buy the spin pro off you? I'm trying to buy another one but it's sold out in my country's decathlon website
what was the tension on both the racqets
Have both of this. Like the 990 better, the spin pros slightly extended racket leangth is kinda bothersome for me.
does 990 provide good flat shot? Im considering buying 990 and 960.

Yeah, I can see that. But, a bit more power than the blade I would say
Also note that i got them on sale around 60 to 70 usd.
