Where I worked we used traffic lights, the boom along with radios to let the loaders know when to switch sides or stop loading. Green light meant load either side. Yellow light meant whatever side you were loading was full. Red light meant the second side was done and the truck didn't need any more. If you turned the light back to yellow it meant you needed more and what ever side you had the boom in you loaded some more in the other side and stop once the light goes red again. If you needed just a touch then we would use the radio and let the loading know what side to push just a little more.
I don’t it was the compactor’s fault as much as the loader operator and the crane operator. The crane operator should have been paying better attention to how much wet heavy garbage he was smashing into the trailer.
That’s a great point. It would be great if they had an axel scale in the tunnel why they are loading so they would never accidentally overload the trailer. Thanks for watching!
“Why you got to do me like that!”…why do those compactor boys just dump the trash on the floor instead of in the hole…come on man!…first guy layed it half on the floor and half in the driveway….doing me dirty!
Yeah, that's their only option. Since the tailgate of both compactors had to be opened by hand, it doesn't seem possible to dump in the hole, especially seeing as garbage falls out as soon as the tailgate is opened. It isn't possible to open the tailgate at the hole either, seeing as it's a "no walking area" as painted on the wall.
If any else noticed that big white barrel with the red stripe @1:00 and the journey it went through after being dumped. You are amazing and hit that like button and a sub!
I’ve noticed that some trucks dump right in the trailer/pit but others dump on the ground in front of it. Does the person manning the scale tell them which way to do it, or is it a driver discretion thing?
I'd assume it's based on what truck they're driving. For trucks where you have to open the tailgate by hand (like the compactors seen in this video), they have to tip it onto the floor because the pit is a no walking zone (as indicated on the wall). Most other trucks can dump directly in the pit, but it seems like the garbage from the rolloffs is blocking the Waste Management truck from doing so.
That would be unfortunate to get overweight and have to pick the garbage out one bucket at a time. How much does each bucket weigh? Does it take a long time?

how many garbage trucks are dumping the trash at the transfer station or what location is this so our landfill is in Cockeysville the baltimore county central acceptance facility.
I deal with idiots everyday not backing up to the tipping face and stringing crap all out in the road shit pisses me off I can't go more than 2 days without a flat tire

@@railsandsignals9261 No I run a C/D landfill Im the one and only operator we have a brick road brick staging area and dirt tipping face, people are too stupid to read the signs and they dump on the brick road even when there is 4 or 5 people dumping on the tipping face , roofing and demo debris on the bricks means nails everywhere that people have to drive over, even if you push everything off the bricks you are losing the road or leaving nails and crap behind crushed bricks trap nails real bad but if I push them off then we don't have a road I only get bricks once or twice a year, small landfill max we have ever had was 250 loads a day for about 3 months after the tornado , normal business is like 30-50 loads a day so the county dont like to spend money for road materials so yeah it really pisses me off when people mess up the road because I have to drive on that crap everyday
Another great video, thanks for posting it. Interesting to see the two compactor units on hook-lift trucks being emptied. Also interesting to see the trailer being loaded (and unloaded once it was overweight). I'm guessing you work at this transfer station? What is your role there?
It depends on whether the tailgate has to be opened by hand or if it can be done from within the cab. In the former case, they dump it on the ground. In the latter cases, they dump it in the pit (unless it's blocked by garbage, as seen with the Waste Management truck)
Awesome video again and great filming angles too 😁 By curiosity, did you ever heard of someone saving anything that have been packed and dumped there by a garbage truck ? haha I know some garbage men save stuff before it goes in the truck, but when I see some bags that still seems it good condition and still white (haha before your video I would never guess that any white trash bag could remain white for that long 😅) I'm guessing it's possible that some cool stuffs could still be intact and worth to keep.
I have year of drivers from other companies find cool things and save them. Someone found a old newspaper of when jfk was assassinated. That’s pretty neat. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
@@AllThingsDope. Wow At this point I wonder why keeping a newspaper for over 50 years untill deciding to throw it away just when it might take some values 🤔🤪 I guess it was saved before going in the garbage truck ride as I don't think newspaper are much resistant to survive that 😆
Dropped off a load of dewatered sludge at my local landfill one day. As I’m dumping, refuse truck next to me dumps his load, and out comes a 6000 watt champion generator. I jump out, look it over, and put my rolloff bin on the ground to load it up. I come back to my yard, have my mechanic look it over, and the only thing that was wrong with it was it was missing both wheels and the frame was bent on one side. 2 wheels and some hammering later, we got a fully functional generator.

When It got on the scale did it read that the trailer was way too heavy (meaning it was too full and it weighed too much) or because some other reason or 🚫 or what????🤨🤨🤨🤨🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Yeah I didn’t get a chance to get video of the truck and trailer going over the scale. Basically the operator took it around to weight it and right away noticed it was 2000 pound over weight on the front axel. So he brought back around to have some dug out.
I'd like to see the belt moving & compaction of the garbage. The full meal deal please.

Why is the claw taking stuff out of the carts down below?
The truck in the pit is overweight.

@@railsandsignals9261 they were not opened by hand just unlatched seen many of these with that same set up that have no issue dumping in the trailer
Can you make a video of the trucks that are getting loaded and where do they go to unload
That’s a great video idea! I will do my best but I can’t promise anything. Thanks for watching!

Now I had to watch it all over to watch that barrel’s journey
The barrel now has its own late night talkshow and is launching a range of lingerie and perfumes
Having seen Toy Story, all I can think of is, "The Clawwwwww".
Lol! The almighty clawww takes the trash to the promised land!
What type of garbage truck is that?😅
Is this all dumped into trucks below, or is it going into an incinerator?
Does the garbage ever get stuck in the compactor? It looks like it could easily happen with all that it has in it.
It does sometimes. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Lars Larson is playing on the radio! LOL cool. Nice video
I would have thought they would load the truck while on a axle scale...........
That is exactly my thoughts. Unfortunately they do not so it’s kinda a guessing game. Thanks for watching.

@@railsandsignals9261 the open the gate then beck up to the pit seen many of these videos where they do it for compactors and roll off style
5:05 and 5:15: Why do they use different reversing beeps?
I'd assume its to differentiate between dumping and just backing up.
Do the trailers go to a place where the recycle materials are extracted?
That would be unfortunate to get overweight and have to pick the garbage out one bucket at a time. How much does each bucket weigh? Does it take a long time?
Yes not fun to have to unload trailer. Each scoop is about 300lbs if they get a full grab.
