This song is the sample behind the 90s hip hop track “Regulate” by Warren G which is where most younger people know it from. I didn’t realize it was a Michael McDonald song until I was in my 20s 😂
My dad was a drummer... From 14 self taught til he passed away 2 months before turning 51... He LOVED Michael McDonald. Listen to the album- we played that Everytime we were in the car together; you can never not groove to his music; listen to the combo album: Motown and Motown II with the whole family whether you make a video or not. It'll be a great memory and might even cause you to repeat it every so often. My dad's been gone 10 years now and Michael McDonald takes me back to driving around with all the windows down with my dad, which is what we did the last time I saw him on a Monday (my parents divorced and I saw him about once or twice per week, he taught me to drive when I was 13, believing he wouldn't get to see me get my license, so was 15, barely 100lbs, driving a Toyota Tundra CrewMax with all windows down including the back window rolled down and the sunroof open, with two 12s under the backseat bumping Michael McDonald around town) then he dropped me off at the gym, and Friday he was gone.
