I’m driving the Buick Encore GX as a rental and you are right on the mark, this little engine is peppy. I don’t understand why other reviews say it’s low on power, it isn’t. It lively, smooth and quiet.
Literally just got back from Vegas with the wifes Encore & cruised at 105mph on a couple of those straights between phoenix to Vegas & she drove absolutely beautiful. Used to call it the wife's grannymobile but not anymore lol 😆
I’ve been driving a Trailblazer Activ AWD for almost a year and I love it!! She’s peppy and a lot of fun to drive, plus easy to park. A much nicer vehicle than my previous Cruze and Trax with the 1.4L 4cyl.
My 2024 trailblazer is getting 40 mpg, if I keep my foot out of it. This a a basic transportation engine , not for a track or drag strip. Full throttle pull are stupid with this motor I have drag cars for that. The trailblazer gets me to work.
@@carlycruise What 2.4 are you referring to? I don't own a vehicle with a 2.4. Also, you have to look at the big picture. Generally speaking, a 3 cyl. engine has to work harder than a 4 cyl. engine. It won't last as long. And the more cylinders, the smoother the acceleration. 3 cylinder engines are made for one purpose: fuel economy. But since the engine has to work harder, the fuel savings are fairly small.
I have a question about the turbo; Before you shut the engine down, do you let the engine run for a couple of minutes to cool down the turbo and prevent deposits from forming, or what? I've heard that that's what you should do on turbo equipped engines; Am I right?
It's a question I'm well equipped to answer. I used to own a turbocharged 1993 Toyota MR2. I would let the engine cool down on a built-in timer for up to 5 minutes before it shut itself off. As I've been reviewing cars for 15 years, I've learned you don't need to do that anymore. It's not harmful if you do, but the oil we use nowadays is so far advanced, as are the engine electronics and features like electric oil and cooling pumps that keep things flowing even when the engine is off. Long story short, by whatever means necessary, modern cars are built so that you don't have to let the engines run afterwards. The engineers have taken care of it. You just turn the engine off and walk away.
Should have put the 1.5. turbo gasoline engine's in these vehicles 4 cylinder? Also added the 2.0 litre Turbo gas engine as a optional choice ? 3 cylinder engine's , nah will put a lot of would be buyers off. Shame Nice looking vehicle s though.

People had 3cyl geo metro lasted till 200k or body rusted out.

GM. Should have just put in the 1.5 four cylinder out of another one of their vehicles. The 3 banger will give up the ghost at or just before 100k mi.
True 3 cylinders are meant for hybrids having a electric engine plus
I’ve heard their 1.5 is notorious for problems, so this Korean made 1.3 might actually be more reliable.
I could never see myself owning a 3 cylinder car.

If it has the 1.5 or 2.0 I would bought one. Rather just go with a equinox or blazer
