- Very uniquely desinged custom map with super fun and fair secrets for once. I quite liked the aestetics and the final part of the map even though I'm not entirely sure what this entire thing had to do with a "Rictusempra" Spell Challenge but alright :D
Had a couple of small flaws and possible softlocks so it could have used a little bit more polishing but I overall really enjoyed my experience, 8.5/10 points for this one!

Divingdeep39 on youtube has made an HP2 extended mod with cut content and new levels

Player review: A Dimitry Lemon Map is always interesting, so also is this one.
I liked how much he dedicated himself to this chamber-sewer theme and tried to make it appealing (if you can call those rancid gray-brown textures "appealing"). But rooms like the one with the waterfall show that there were made no excuses in terms of visual appeal. There is creative variety within the thematic limits. The fire crabs pushing stuff is a bit often.
Overall, it has a high recognition value. The slightly redesigned chamber from the game and the basilisk are some nice cameos. It's a fun adventure map, not too stressful, and has a relatively low difficulty level, both in gameplay and secrets.
By the end, I’d found all but two without much trouble, and one spot of them even just because I forgot I wanted to go back.
However, I did have one major issue: Several mechanics were broken for me, even with reloading (the fire crabs at the start, the Spongify plates that don’t need spells...). So I had to use debug mode to progress. I checked the video, and they all worked on your side. Normally, I don’t factor bugs into my rating if others don’t experience them, but they happened a bit too often to ignore, and I usually don’t have randomly broken mechanics in maps. That, along with the fact that there are even more polished and creative masterpieces out there, keeps me at a generous 8/10; I’d actually put it in the lower range of the second tier. If the map works as it did for you, I’d still definitely recommend it and wouldn’t mind playing it again sometime.
So elegancy from this map 100% Slytherin inspiration ;) Tom Riddle would love this location 💚 He could in place like this hide some horecruxs :)
I'm sure he would have loved this modified Chamber of Secret to put a Horcrux or two in there 😂 I honestly feel like it's a lot scarier to be in there in this version compared to the base game so it would certainly be a Salazar Slytherin approved map... 😂

Pretty much sums up almost all of the Dmitry Lemon maps to be honest, always amazing ideas and super fun maps but a big lack of polishing. Really love playing them though, always super fun. And yeah, no clue why he called it Rictusempra Challenge when the spell is really barely used lmao

I'm wondering do you think early 30s is old to be a for a speedrunner.
First of all: Absolutely not! Speedrunning is for everyone and everyone can do it and have fun with it in their own ways! It might sometimes be more difficult to get World Records having to compete with the "young people" at peak gaming age (18/19) just like in Esports but nobody is ever too old for speedrunning!
@Nixxo oh that's what I meant is it hard for people usually that are 30 plus to keep up with younger people sorry about not being clear i think i asked it the wrong way.
Hmm I do believe that it is a bit harder for them and that it requires a lot more time and griding than a 19 year old would. But I don't think it's impossible, Flo is my age for example and he is dominating HP speedrunning and not someone younger.
I didn't know the camera got immediately screwed whenever you swam. Last time I thought it was just the lack of space in the map, now I understand why you hate it so much.
There used to be a video showcasing this map. I think it was done by the autor but I'm not sure know.
That and many other videos have been deleted.
I remember the description told that this was supposed to be a Rictusempra challenge created by Snape, that was ultimately rejected for class but Snape still forced Harry to test the challenge 😂
Oh god yeah, the default swimming mechanics of Unreal Engine 1 are incredibly awful and the camera is a giant mess. And since they (thankfully) didn't use it in the stock game they never polished it up for HP2...
Thank you for providing the backstory to the name of this map as well! That explains a lot and is actually quite a cool concept, what a shame that the author deleted his video about this and many other things... Big pieces of HP modding history gone
@@Nixxo Yeah, sorry if I sounded obnoxious in my comment on the alohomora challenge. I thought it was just a matter of someone taking the time to correctly program the swimming mechanics. I didn't know they were just bad by the default in the engine and didn't know what I was talking about.
About other maps, I don´t know if it was the same author, but I remember one where they made the entire story of Harry Potter 2 take place in a famous russian school.
I can only imagine the effort of remaking the cutscenes and events of all the main story in another map, given how you and other people say it takes a lot of time to work with the editor. Many things of course were simplified. Like for example the chamber of secrets. They made a map for it different than the main one, that was shorter and had a different ending and story. But I don´t know if you want me to go into detail.

I don't want to know how long it took them to make all the vanilla cutscenes in a different map either, that sounds absolutely insane given how clunky it's supposed to be. I always really appreciate people putting that much work into a passion project, feel free to go into detail about it. Maybe it helps us to somehow locate that map and play it on the channel because it sounds more and more cool to be hones 😄

Ничто меня не останавливает, это правда, но мне обычно нравится играть в эту игру «ванильным» способом. Так оно и было задумано, так сказать, возможно, это потому, что я слишком редко выполняю скоростные забеги и все такое... 😃
