I tape myself all the time. Just use a short stick to get it out to the areas you cannot reach with your arms. Hard to explain what I am saying, but self application can be done quite easily.
a friend applied the tape to me and so far its been on all day without coming off or rolling up and that's with me working in a warehouse, i even took a shower with it on and its still attached, Awesome product!
The tape is designed to stay on for 3-7 days if you get the Pro. Because of the heavy usage of hands with a lot of movement and washing it will probably be closer to 3 days but you leave it on during washing and showering. Let us know how it goes!
@@MarryitMeMary yes I use KT Tape sometimes and as the instructions mentioned you can shower with it and get it wet and it's absolutely fine and you can also ice pack over it if you want to it's pretty good stuff
This tape is great for sprains and preventing injuries. The best use was to get rid of warts which 5 dermatologists failed at doing. It’s much better than using duct tape.
i broke both my wrists 4-5 years ago (not at the same time), skipped rehab because of work. both of my hands felt weak, my wrist wre cracking and had tremor in my hands etc. tried this kt tape on myself last year both my hands are fine now! Thank you!!!!!
*Nah, girl.* I call B.S. If you *honestly* broke your wrists, *you would have been in a cast* and _possibly pinned._ In your wrist ALONE, there are *eight tiny bones and three intricate joints BEFORE you even talk about the enormous, complicated vascular system or your hand!* As someone with a long medical career, I find your story 95% impossible. *Wrist BREAKS, do not heal from any "K-Tape'.*
I was a little skeptical of using KT tape at first, but now I find that I'm using it more often that I thought I would. I'm a Crossfitter and KT tape is super helpful for getting solid quick recoveries for the little sprains and soreness issues that come up from time to time. I tweaked my wrist today on hand-stand pushups and now I'm trying this video's application of KT tape along with icing and an anti-inflammatory. Thanks for the video!
The last strip is to support the tendons and ligaments involved in supporting the wrist. You can visit our website kttape . com and we have a store locator which will help you find a store near you.
I'm a drummer myself and I have a ganglion cyst on my right wrist plus I fell a month ago and landed hand first and it REALLY hurt like hell. I've been using the tape and right away felt better and I can play with little or no pain. At night I take a electric warm pad and wrapp it around the wrist for a little bit. Just hang in there, heal and then keep on drumming. Good luck.
All the colors are exactly the same, the only reason they use different ones is because they want you to be able to see the different applications via contrast. As a user of KT tape it really works and stays on a long time!
You'll notice that the tape doesn't have tension on the sides which will keep it from functioning like a tourniquet. This updated version is just as effective as the old version but easier to follow and apply.
I have a question. How would this work for a cheerleader who tumbles for me it's the over extension part and I use a foam/spandex wrist brace that smells really bad after each use and falls off all the time. How would a super thin Strachey price of tape compare to a thick foam brace? My coaches are getting super annoyed because it falls off all the time (causing me to be unable to finish the routine and is a tripping hazard) and it's uncomfortable SMELLY and really hard to find a spot that supports but doesn't make my hand go cold and tingly.
I case you still need an answer to this or anyone else has the same question, the two items serve different purposes. A brace is often used for active stability, it can be used across dynamic movements and can also serve as a physical object for protection or otherwise. This tape on the other hand is more designed to be used as a passive repair aid, promoting faster healing and can sometimes even heal parts of the body that would not have been healed on its own. It IS NOT designed to give active support, but can be used as such for the purposes of pain reduction or nerve impingement.
It depends on the injury. Have you had a doctor look at it? If there is a fracture involved it could take a while. If it's just a sprain, those can very depending on how bad they are. Have you tried using KT Tape? Give it a shot, it can often help the recovery process.
This application should provide added support and stability for your wrist. If you have pain due to the writing give it a try ahead of time to minimize it.
taken me a few tries, KT videos seem the best. you might need help , get your limb in the correct position and then apply the tape, maybe someone else applies for you, and if u get the tape right, really helps. Seen my injuries heal much faster than without. I've tried lots of stuff, and train a lot.
Thaanks a lot. Lunatumnecrosis or better said Morbus Kienboeck Kienboecks desease isn t really a carpal tunnel syndrom. the symtoms are not the same. while the carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms are no really feelings and little hurts in the wrist and hand, kienboecks desease is really painfull. But these tapes are usually helpfull - I had them in case of shoulder, neck and back and yeah, I couldn t beleave it really helps. If it helps with the wristpain as well I can t say, because of these KT-Tapes aren t found that time. It s a really good advice and I m going tu put it into the playlist nearly Kienboecks Desease -> Ergänzungen zur Lunatummalazie
Hello! I have very weak wrists, I broke both of them, and I mabye want to start gymnastics. Can i apply the tape as you showed in the video just for some general wrist support?
It did help while I was playing, but the problem is when I start sweating the adhesive no longer sticks and it starts rolling up. I've bought a wrist band to hold it together though. Feels great!
Why is this "updated" wrist taping method better than the previous video. I notice this video encircles the wrist in tape. As long as there is tape encircling the wrist (regardless of 1 piece or 2) AND the tape has tension, it will function "as a tourniquet" per se, no?
I am a swimmer and water polo player, and I tore my ACL in my wrist. Is there any way for me to affectively tape my wrist so I can still swim without pain?
I don't know what that vine is on ur wrist that sucks out , but everytime I touch it , it hurts but isn't been causing random pains on my hand ? So I use this
Would be nice to know if this routine would increase endurance to a healthy forearm / wrist . Application: Bowling. Saw a pro bowler with this taping on an ESPN vid.
The adesive doesnt always work but thats tye same with any plasters...they dont always stay on. However this physio practise helps me in my day to of rheumatoid arthritis esp in the summer when its worse and the wrist slints becone soggy from sweat...the tape lasts longer and provides great support.
Would you recommend this tape for a sprained wrist for a basketball player? It's actually my shooting hand and I want to ease the pain for a tournament coming up.
Does this work for swimming? I have just come off a broken wrist and am in a splint. I wanna go swimming and to still be supported, what do you suggest?
I'm a triathlete, and have used it during events. Doesn't stay on perfectly, but it does work. The tape that sports doctors have, is much stronger, than ones that are on the market.
You should get kt tape pro. It's like the regular kt tape, but it lasts longer and is water resistant. I've showered in it without it peeling off at all. The only thing is though, if you touch the adhesive side of the tape too much then it won't stick as much, essentially making it peel often.
Can this be used to prevent the "arm pump" hand fatigue that is caused by racing motocross (hanging onto the handlebars til the point where your hands can't move anymore) ??
ahh ok I see. Yea, the previous method of having the tail ends run along the palmar aspect of the forearm is surprisingly difficult to apply. Thank you for the response!
So I can't find anyone in my healthcare network that does. this. I ordered the tape, watched your video with my neighbor, and had her do it. How will I know if it's working or not working? If it's done incorrectly, can it aggravate my injury? I have carpal tunnel, but recently began feeling the same symptoms on the pinky side of my hand and wrist.
I also have a question. I was thinking of buying some KT tape for my wrists and ankles but i notice you use different coloured tape, is there any reason for this? does different coloured tape do different things?
Be careful not to wrap the tape completely around your wrist in a way that reduced circulation. Here is our new Wrist application video: th-cam.com/video/4RUmVqj4zkc/w-d-xo.html
Is this taping for hyperflexion? And, if I have a hyperextended wrist, should I put the third strip on my anterior side instead of on my posterior side (in anatomical position)?
Hello.! Namaste 🙏it's been about 3 month I am having pain on wrist below pinky finger. I think this is ulnar pain... I can do work normally but when I carry something or normally turn wrist at pinky side i feel pain What should I do???? Can I have some suggestions please..... From Nepal
As a PT, am concerned of ergonomics as well. It could have been ergonomically correct if you placed a footstool (or similar device) with which your subject can rest her R forearm on while you taped her. This way, both of you may set the example of proper body mechanics even when doing simple tasks at very short duration.
Can this application help with basing in cheer leading? I am a secondary base which means I only get the weight on one hand, so it has a lot of wear and tear. Thanks.
I recently fractured my wrist, and I've started exercising and playing football again. But the 3 times I have used it either the long strip or the strip around my wrist had started to peel off during exercise. - Can you help??
had the same experience.use rocktape instead.it sticks until you peel it off, though it sometimes hurt when i peel it and takes with it some skin. or you can use a wristband( like from tennis players) to keep the KT tape from peeling off.goodluck to your wrist!
+kevin mendoza Clan the skin with Alcohol prep b/f taping. The helps it stick better. I agree, Rock tape does stick bette but even with that I clean the skin first to remove any oils. When taking it off - pour some abby oil or any type on oil on it and let it sit an minute then it will come of easily. If you damage the skin then you can't tape that area again until it is healed well.

I tape myself all the time. Just use a short stick to get it out to the areas you cannot reach with your arms. Hard to explain what I am saying, but self application can be done quite easily.
as of 2/18 they obviously haven't done it yet lol

Most logical reply I’ve ever read on TH-cam. Thx Kel Sco
what do you mean by short stick?
I like how you show the different stretch percentages! That helps a lot!

You can leave it on when you shower? 😮

Not funny 🤨

It's good tape when you have help, but nearly impossible to apply by yourself. how about some help with that ?
Do you recommend this also for drummers? I play Drums nearly 40 years. And the last time my left wrist hurts at a concert after 1 hour.
Ralf yes!!

I have had really bad wrist pains from tennis lately. As soon as I put on the KT tape, it immediately felt a lot more supported.
You'll notice that the tape doesn't have tension on the sides which will keep it from functioning like a tourniquet. This updated version is just as effective as the old version but easier to follow and apply.
Not weird. You can tape for any reason at any time. The tape works during sports, or just your day to day activities.

What are your tape lengths? Here in New Zealand, I can only get the uncut rolls and have to cut all lengths myself

Absolutely. Try it out and let us know how it worked for you.
how does one apply these tapes solo? I tried and it was useless.

Absolutely. Before during and after.
Awesome. Thanks for the post!
It is almost impossible to hurt yourself with the tape. As long as you aren't creating a tourniquet you won't hurt yourself and you can do it at home.

That strip will assist in the lifting motion of the hand.

You needed to point out that the first piece you cut in half. "One piece" came out of your mouth while your hands were cutting it in half.

How did you cut the tape that easily oml
Flawless, sir!!!
Would this help Tendonopathy in the wrist?
Thanks for letting us know!
I've been working in a ice cream shop this summer, which means my wrist hurts especially when I come home! I start play badminton again after the holiday which is around now, can KT tape help on my wrist? It makes this "click" sound when i'm twisting it.
Also i have jumpers knee, does KT tape help that aswell? :-)
@Kaleo Naiga
That sounds like Tendovaginitis.
I've tried taping like this just now, but with the long strip on the outside. We will se if this helps..
Absolutely.
This should help. Let us know how it goes!
Would this work for carpal tunnel pain
Will this application work on the font of the wist?
Is that Mr.Incredible?
Would this work for the bottom of the wrist?
if you play volleyball with the tape on, will it peel off at all?
I sprained my wrist and it hurts me a bit so to be able to train I taped it and the tape has lasted very well !
it shouldnt as long as you give it a good rub. i just put it on my wrist now but have used KT tape for me knee and that stuff stayed on great even with all the activity
