I actually like this version more, Floor made a bit softer choices on those high notes, not belting out full blast but going with a headier voice instead. Suits this song better. But that's my opinion, I know the Wacken one was more epic, sort of.

I know a lot of great bar singers! Troy is obviously very talented, but there really isn't anything special about his voice at all. I agree the three part harmonies are excellent, but I miss the epic songs with Marko and the female lead going back and forth. But as always, everyone is entitled to their own opinion!

HOW have you avoided this song?!??!?!?!?!? It is THE song that hit me like a runaway freight train about 6 months ago, when I first found this band. Wacken 13 has basically kept me going, I have some health problems that are giving me a lot of trouble . I have hung on to these people with a vice grip.
My absolute favorite combined Floor and Marko vocals are in "I Want My Tears Back" from Wacken 2013! The Buenos Aires 2018 version is good also, not as tight vocally, but so much fun as they really let loose with having fun on stage. :) It's also a super high energy song you will love!
You know how sometimes when a singer gets to the top of their range, the voice breaks a bit, and you can really tell? I suspect if Floor ever sang at the top of her range, most people would be thinking "why is her mouth moving when I can't hear anything", and some nearby dogs will be thinking "I think she reached the top of her range on that one."

Marco's old band Tarot is awesome. I'd recommend "I Rule" "Follow the Blind" or "Crow's Fly Black." He also put out a solo album recently - in Finnish and in English. I'd recommend "Stones" of that one. With Nightwish, he did the only vocals for "While Your Lips Are Still Red."

I wish I knew about them when they were there- would have driven there at a moments notice lol. This version is beautiful though more subdued, at a lower register, and notes not held as normal in places. I think she had a cold, sore throat, or limited lung function from some of the choices she makes. She has to alter to still hit notes when she cannot perform at her best level - similar to another concert where for sure she said she had been sick. True professional to do a great performance regardless. Love Floor!

The Wacken 2013 version is better, IMO. In this performance, after the key change Floor is in more of a head voice. In the Wacken 2013 performance, she’s in a full-on belt, and the power in her voice at that point is just mind-blowing.

So this is a song from when Tarja was in the band in 2002. I made a long comment about it being downtuned in this version but now that I think of it, Floor's voice color might be just darker here 🤔 This song is so difficult to do in full belting style and she just goes for it!

Floor is a human being and not a machine. She can have a day that she's just tied. Touring takes tremendous energy, and most normal human beings would not be able to pull such an effort off. I noticed it too, but her performance is, observed on average, still very good in my opinion. .
It was the 13th performance in 17 days. All over the US and Canada, starting in New York, Quebec, Denver and nine more to Vancouver. And after that another 14 in 19 days en route back to DC. Suprisingly good still, you can feel the fatigue in this performance. They're passionate musicians, but forgetting about themselves sometimes... Or maybe it is just this crowd, hard to draw enery from it.

Yeah, this is far from the best performance of Ever Dream by Floor. It's thin and lifeless by her standards. Which really says something about Floor, of course, as most singers would be more than happy to be able to match this! - but there are other performances where she invests this song with the full power of her voice and it knocks your damn socks off.

I dont know if there was something wrong with Floor, she was trying something different or she had been performing a classical set that day or in the days before this show, but her enunciation is different in this video than most other. Most notably the word "me". As she goes higher & adds more power, like other singers, she normally pronounces it "may", but in this she stayed with "me" & it was a struggle to maintain the volume without moving to a more head voice or switching to her more classical style. By the end though, she went back to her more belty, open style.

After the end of The Islander in Tampere, nobody was happier for Marko than Floor, when he was walking back to the rest of the band.
They performed this in Denver, Colorado in 2015. The audience went wild. Still a fan favorite after 18 years.

The Denver debacle was an incident that led to Anette’s departure. They came back in 2018 with Floor and Paramount Theater. It was great!

Floor isn't quite right in this one. She has low energy, isn't windmilling, isn't smiling, and the look at the end says she wasn't happy.

Haaa, indeed! I admit being a relative newcomer to Nightwish, and when I went back listening to their older stuff I was pretty horrified when I got to The Carpenter! But as we know, Tuomas makes up for his lack of singing ability in many other amazing ways!

Yeah, this is far from the best performance of Ever Dream by Floor. It's thin and lifeless by her standards. Which really says something about Floor, of course, as most singers would be more than happy to be able to match this! - but there are other performances where she invests this song with the full power of her voice and it knocks your damn socks off.

Ahhh Floor!!!!
I dont know if there was something wrong with Floor, she was trying something different or she had been performing a classical set that day or in the days before this show, but her enunciation is different in this video than most other. Most notably the word "me". As she goes higher & adds more power, like other singers, she normally pronounces it "may", but in this she stayed with "me" & it was a struggle to maintain the volume without moving to a more head voice or switching to her more classical style. By the end though, she went back to her more belty, open style.
She was sick but didn't want to cancel the show...
