There’s an infamous clip of a woman being dangled from a high window over the wall in the 60s. Back then there was some vulnerable points, before the whole thing was rebuilt impregnable.
@@AtheistOrphan Stanislaus Gefrörer, he's got a little jimdo website and is listed as a member of the 'Fotoklub Ottobrunn-Neubiberg'. He takes some decent photos too by the looks of it :)

after hearing a bunch of marxist leninist non-sense from folks, this was refreshing... hope the dude prospered in the part of Germany that WASNT a prison state
I remember as an 8 year old kid seeing people who had been shot try to escape East Berlin on the news. These days people protest over every little thing but back then we were all too busy trying to look after ourselves let alone anyone else.
Untrue. The 1960s were VERY well known as a time in which there were many and very large protests. Protests in east berlin against the regime after which the USSR sent tanks to fight against their own people. In the west against the vietnam war. Protests against racism. The first gay pride was a riot (search for the name Martha P. Johnson). People getting murdered by police at universities in the USA. People sleeping on Dam Square's war monument as a protest against war. In the 1970s protests against the countless dead pedestrians and cyclists in Amsterdam because of the increase in car traffic (the direct reason why Amsterdam is such a cycle friendly city now). Protests against nuclear power after 3 mile island (a reactor failure that did not result in any deaths whatsoever, except people panicking and getting into accidents. And many many others. People absolutely protested against many things, both big *and* small.

I've always remembered a sequence they didn't show here where a woman runs into a single strand of barbed wire fencing and is taken off her feet. I bet she still carries the scars from that.
You're probably crying yourself to sleep because in your whole lifetime, you'll remain bitter knowing that communism crashed and burned. And no matter how hard you bring it back it'll never return.
Never seen footage of an actual escape before, this is pretty nuts

My father was brought over there on business from Ireland. He crossed that wall. He was told to put the cigarette out

We could be heroes, just for one day...

If she’s still alive that is. That happened over sixty years ago.
Who got rescued?
A 25-year-old mathematician called Stanislaus Gefroerer
They chose the wrong guard dogs , they opted for the West German shepherd over the East German shepherd and only have themselves to blame 😞🍻
Hasta los perros están desnutridos.
Seems like the Labour Party in New Zealand today
why would they escape to the oppressors in the capitalist side????
Hmmm 🤔🤔🤔 Perhaps, because the capitalist side were not the "oppressors" after all.....😲😲😲
@jazzeffc And did you see the joy of escaping to the side of oppressors too? Or did he escape from total oppression?
Because we have Taco Bell fool.
