It's all fine for story reasons that the Crown Keepers have the focus back on them for a while - but the cast can never again say "our stream is unscripted" because the EXU team HAD to be waiting for their cue to come on stage. So this was all set up in advance. And the main cast had to act surprised when Matt told them to leave the table. Well, that all demonstrates that CR is a show now - and that's fine, but it's not what it used to be, and that means the excitement we felt when it was live and improvised has partly been lost
you know that a DM can plan stuff ahead of time, right? Like I understand sometimes you gotta adapt and be resourceful and not everything goes according to plan but for something like this where another player to be present or even this sort of switch-up, some level of planning is absolutely necessary. Matt just found a good opportunity to do the thing he'd already planned to do that session
@LrdSqk I run D&D games, ok? Yes, clearly, there had been an agreement that there would be a mini Crown Keepers arc around the time that BH were no longer in imminent danger on Ruidus. And yes, good stories sometimes subvert expectations. I understand this. But most fans wanted to see the fallout from what happened at the end of Ep 91. And what did we get instead? Yes, the cast don't make the game for us. They make it for their own enjoyment. But it's hard not to make comparisons with the enthusiasm and joy Critters ALL felt when it was live and unquestionably unscripted 9 years ago. I still love so many things about CR, but something has been lost
What are you even talking about? I don't know what happens behind the scenes, but it doesn't seem that hard to sneak some people into the studio while they are shooting. Regardless of that they probably wouldn't know why they were there or what Matt and Aabria had planned.
