- Last few minutes of KCAL's analog signal with corresponding digital signal. I didn't have a way of truly synchronizing the recordings, so I just synchronized them by the video content. Normally, the analog signal is a few seconds ahead of the digital one.
The reason the digital signal changes is because KCAL changed the frequency of their digital broadcast to channel 9, which was originally used by their analog signal, while KCBS changed their's to KCAL's old digital frequency.
Also, this is the actual signal frequency I'm talking about here. KCBS-DT does appear as channel 2-1, but the actual frequency it uses corresponds to channel 43.
June 2009 transition data
KCBS-DT (KCBS-TV on VHF Ch. 2) was assigned UHF Ch. 60 but was displaced as the channel was out of core. The station elected to move to UHF Ch. 43.
KCAL-DT (KCAL-TV on VHF Ch. 9) was assigned UHF Ch. 43. The station elected to move back to VHF Ch. 9 and move UHF Ch. 43 to KCBS-DT.
KTLA-DT (KTLA on VHF Ch. 5) was assigned UHF Ch. 31. The station elected to stay on UHF Ch. 31.
KRCA-DT (KRCA on UHF Ch. 62) was assigned UHF Ch. 68. The station needed to move to UHF Ch. 35 since Mexico could not grant UHF Ch. 45.
KMEX-DT (KMEX-TV on UHF Ch. 34) was assigned UHF Ch. 35. The station elected to move back UHF Ch. 34 and move UHF Ch. 35 to KRCA-DT.
KABC-DT (KABC-TV in VHF Ch. 7) was assigned UHF Ch. 53 but was displaced as the channel was out of core. The station elected to move back to VHF Ch. 7.
2019 repack (except for KMEX-DT, the -DT callsigns were changed, they are kept for reference only)

KCAL-DT continued to broadcast on VHF Ch. 9.
KTLA-DT moved to UHF Ch. 35.
KRCA-DT entered a shared channel agreement with KABC-DT on VHF Ch. 7.
KMEX-DT continued to broadcast on UHF Ch. 34.
KABC-DT continued to broadcast on VHF Ch. 7.

(When you realize dish actually used to cost less than directv)
I'm not sure. However, I noticed that none of the stations in the area transitioned to channels below 7. That doesn't appear to be the case nationwide though.
