Amazing! I just bought a Gen-1 on a 1990 D350 fleet vehicle. I'll be waiting eagerly for each video. I want this to be my last truck and I don't plan on dieing any time soon. I'll be memorizing this whole series.
I really want to put a 12v Cummins in my 86 Chevy truck but they are pricey near me and honestly I don't know what to look for ..... I worry I'd end up w one that has the burnt rear cylinder but I am enjoying this series thanks
I notice you have pretty good attention to detail but what about the fine lapping Grit that could have fallen down the valve stem guide while grinding? Did you thoroughly wash head before assembly? Tiny details count
was that assembly lube or never seize? sure looked like never seize and that's a huge no no. anti seize/ never seize will wipe out cam, rod, and main bearings in very short order
O.G. cummins w250 yes, all 12 valves in the second gens had this EXACT same engine just with a VE pump. You could put a p-pump on the 24 valve 5.9 as well. Not sure about the 6.7 but that would be pointless anyway.
Sir can you invite me to your country for this job. I love this job. I want to do this job with your garage. And i already electricals worker. Send me visa...
I always used an air file sander on the block and head surface. Really quick and it flattens the surface great.

Eagerly waiting for the next installment.
A diesel fuel leak through test on the valves before and after lapping might have been interesting.

Thought the same thing until I zoomed in on 10:18. "moly assembly lube paste"
Here’s a question. When doing this since I don’t have a parts washer. Could I put it in my dishwasher with no soap?
Only if you want your wife to leave you.
Please make more video...
Hi, I'm about to do a rebuild on my cummins 6bta. Just wondering what difference the other springs achieve?
when you turn up the pump and install higher governor springs, there is a tendency for the stock valve springs to not be adequate above 3K rpm.
After going through all that cleaning, why wouldn't you coat it in some oil to prevent surface rust, which is all over this head...
Can a p pump be installed on this engine ? Instead of the ve
Yes it can
