Given it has been nearly a decade since Doug recorded TW3, And nearly two decades since TW1, I will be incredibly impressed if Doug gets even 50% of these.
Can't believe it's gonna be 10 years next year tbh. Still remember waiting for this game and being so excited. To me it feels like maybe 3-4 years. Certainly not almost 10. I was 15 and now i am 24. Wish i could go back in time and play this game for the first time.
Doug is right about Geralt having emotions, maybe not as strong as a normal human but he does nonetheless. In the books he shows emotion in many occasions.
It's no surpise given that Geralt is battle-hardened man with years of fights and difficulties on his Path. He can easily hide his emotions and he actually uses this "I'm a mutant" excuse to his advantage.
"Do you understand what this neutrality is, which stirs you so? To be neutral does not mean to be indifferent or insensitive. You don't have to kill your feelings. It's enough to kill hatred within yourself. Do you understand?"
I've only played the games, but I low key got the idea that the image of witchers not having emotions was kinda just part of the superstition and prejudice they often experience. "They steal kids" "they work with witches" "they have no emotions." Just the kinda painting them as monsters thing.
Still love how it feels like you can go through the entire game with Geralt always sounding like a calm collected badass, yet its only when a tiny goat is under threat does he actually sound like he's panicking
The books are quite clear about Geralt just pretending to have no feelings because that's what people expect of him, but deep down inside he's full of emotions. So kudos for Doug for bringing this trait to life. What a legend!
Man if they didn't let Geralt have his sense of humor it would not be remotely the same, its absolutely critical to being a Witcher to show they are human after all.
It makes sense, Geralts story ended and it ended well, i hope we get to make our own custom witcher next time around and are perhaps mentored by Geralt or Ciri
I know it suck, but Geralt already got his happy ending in blood and wine, it wouldn't make sense to bring him back as a protagonist for a huge game. Probably not Ciri either, since that would mean they'd have to make the witcheress ending canon and make a lot of people unhappy
