@@godsu for real. They beaten Heat without two of their best players twice. One without Melo and Stoudemire, and another without Stoudemire and while Chandler played, he was in pain so badly he got only one rebound.
I actually had tears in my eyes watching this. Novakaane and JR killing it! 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 New York Knicks was the city's last exciting team. The 12-13 team went to semifinals and lost in 6 to the Pacers.
Can't believe Dolan traded Novak for Bargs. JR and Novak coming off the bench were a big reason why the Knicks were so dominant last season. Dolan does not deserve to own this team!
As a knick fan, I loved jr. But it was no secret that he needed a change of scenery. He had a good run in New York but the front office realized they needed to change the roster
Tell me, why did Knicks trade Novak for Bargniani?! I know Novak doesn't rebound or defend, but he's a top 3pt shooter. Bargs doesn't defend, rebound, score in the low post and he's average to below average when shooting 3s. What was the logic behind that trade?
They traded novak, camby, and a 2nd rounder for bargnani because: The year before the Knicks were good, but needed to improve. So they gave up a role player in Novak, a guy who can only shoot 3's. Camby who was practically useless the entire year on the court, and a 2nd rounder which isn't all that much. They were gaining a guy who could POTENTIALLY become the 2nd scorers Carmelo and the Knicks desperately need. Pros and cons were Pro: Bargnani had high upside to be a 2nd scoring threat Cons: we know all of them about him, lack of D, rebounding, and injury prone Pro: We weren't giving up that much, novak being the best part of the trade, stats wise we didn't give up much...but... Con: we see now, just like jason kidd, novak meant more to the Knicks than his 7 points a game.
This roster was so fun to watch and so was the one the year before with Lin. Got blown up for no reason and Mike Woodson got fired after getting the 2 seed smh
This the best 2k ive ever seen i mean the graphics are great, player interactions and animations top notch and the commentators are so versatile 😂😂😂😂😂😂
they were so fun to watch. all those shooters around melo. i wish he never injured his shoulder against indiana. a new york-miami conference final would've been cool
Da Diah nah it wasnt as much as his shoulder the pacers just out manhadle the knicks in that series tyson chandler aint do shit he made hibbert look better than he really is ... if they didnt get snuff in game 1 they woudlve won in 7 that yr and i truly believe they had enuff to beat the heat that yr .... to go to the nba finals
Causal Fans will say the warriors started the 3pt era (and that’s understandable given their success) but this was the real start of the 3 pt era in NBA
Not its not 😂 magic in 2009 have a more 3 point shooters. You the casual one 😂 the warriors make it popular, they ddnt started it but they make it popular because back then no jump shooting team can win a championship but they prove everybody wrong by winning in 2015. So stop acting smart, casual.
This was PEAK NBA imo. Like every single game was just so fun to watch, the competition was so high between all teams and they all had grit. Teams nowadays just lay down and get blown out in the 1st Q
JR started it... Novak finished it. What a killer combo. But let's not get carried away and compare them to the splash brothers. This was one game (and there were more) but the splash bro's consistently did it and ended up in the top 6 in points in the regular season this year (Curry 2nd and Klay 6th)
Other than 2009, this was melo's best shot at a title.... had a young shumpert, a prime JR, a good center in chandler, still had amare stoudemire, and a sniper in Novak.
Watching this makes me a little upset and bothered because of the fact that if the Knicks had the right management and got rid of Steve Mills back then we would have been able to orchestra a team around Carmelo Anthony stat and keep Steve Novak and Jr. Smith and built around those guys Steve Novak and Jr. Smith were perfect for outside shooter when needed. I'm sick because we had them at there prime..smh..damn steve mills and dolan smh.
I'm a Boston fan, but when I was watching this happen i couldn't help but be excited for NY. You could feel the hype in that arena radiating from your TV when watching this.
I'm from Finland, Europe and I'm a huge Celtics fan, I went to this game and I was so pissed at these two of how well they shot the 3. But when I think about it later on it was a pretty unbelievable experience to see this kind of a shooting even though my Celtics lost the game.. :D
+Julian Tang I remember when we got Landry I was so happy but he was nothing but a bench warmer, he lost his stroke after his shoulder injury and never shot the same.
At one point in the last decade, the Knicks really had the most lethal bench in the eastern conference. Been down for so long you forget we were once so high up.
I remember when the Knicks used to blow teams out left and right. The year they won 54 games. Their 3 point shooting was what helped them win so many games, even though they struggled in other areas. It was an unbelievable year in my opinion. I hated that they traded Novak, I get he wasn’t good all around but the three point shot was all we had and Dolan got rid of it.
+Jake Gold just because somebody makes a mistake here and there on defense doesnt make them a bad defender jesus christ... everyone falls asleep sometimes
not a knicks video without shumpert bricking an open 3
He's got a lot better though
L disrespecting ShumpGOAT
lol
he's balling right now i give em credit
SSDZReturns W he's been shooting better since his wrist started feeling better.
back when life was good...
Melo, you r now a bench player
He's started every game for Portland since they've picked him up
Ron M he’s a starter
Ron M wit yo dumb ass
@IG: confused_melo For FACTS #Ginga who cares not my team 🤷🤷
“Fortunately for New York he looked up at the clock” Lebron watching this with anger in his soul 😂😂
You know we're basketball starved when knicks highlights start up in the feed
Justin Grant This Knicks team was actually good though
@@godsu 100%....but I'm just saying .....the algorithm throwing us and them a bone lol
Justin Grant Thats true
@@godsu for real. They beaten Heat without two of their best players twice. One without Melo and Stoudemire, and another without Stoudemire and while Chandler played, he was in pain so badly he got only one rebound.

I wish that team could play forever
It aint the same without them even if I dont like what the NBA has become
I think they would have made it further without injuries
this team was so fun to watch. the discount double-check taunt novak would do always had me dying 😂
Im from LA & this team made me love basketball as a kid watching them play all the time for some reason we had most games🫡
Right smh I feel like they were better than the Heat that 2013 year, we were a matchup problem for them in every position smh
Can't believe Dolan traded Novak for Bargs. JR and Novak coming off the bench were a big reason why the Knicks were so dominant last season. Dolan does not deserve to own this team!
I actually watch all knicks games and novak is horrible except for shooting wide open 3s
u cannot use words like Kincks and Dominant in the same sentense
Dj papu learn how to spell please
yeah of course i will do it for somebody ive never seen, never knew and for somebody that doesnt exist yeah. :D what did you expect? :D
DJ PAPU official You cannot use words like DJ PAPU official and good spelling in the same sentence...
I legit get tears in my eyes every time I watch this. One of my best times as an adult knicks fan born in 85 #knicks
Not a knicks fan but diehard Steve novak fan. Was so pissed the bucks finally got him and he gets hurt. Such a smooth shot.
J.R. Smith and Novak made it splash just getting all those buckets!!
The ball movement and 3 point shooting of the 2012 Knicks should’ve stayed longer and become the GSW of their time
Thank you Knicks, for not recognizing greatness when it's in front of your face. Your trash helped Cleveland win a title.
.... And break the 3 point record XD
As a knick fan, I loved jr. But it was no secret that he needed a change of scenery. He had a good run in New York but the front office realized they needed to change the roster
jr was too distracted in ny. lucky for him there aint shit to do in cleveland except play
+hmango111 exactly! Even jr himself said that
Bruh that nigga be high asf downtown and in the club like eryday
This Knicks was good and so fun to watch. Low turn-overs, good 3 point shooters, Melo in his prime, decent defense with Shump and Chandler.
Most of Today’s kids will never know how much of a BEAST NY Smith was 🔥
JR was coming back from China, where he averaged 40+ points in a season. He was confident and he was a superstar.
This video is fake....rondo hit a jumpshot
lmaooo

Don't know... not to mention he's been injured for like 6 fucking months now...
the raptors also traded novak, he missed multiple clutch three's and then was a liability everywhere else

Mario Cardone They gave up a first rounder (next year's) and TWO second rounders (2014, 2017) for Bargnani.
Spikezx7 because, Knicks.
Something truly amazing at 3:10 - JR Smith recognizing the clock and reacting appropriately.
Trult a rare sighting
when the knicks actually cared...
This roster was so fun to watch and so was the one the year before with Lin. Got blown up for no reason and Mike Woodson got fired after getting the 2 seed smh
111illmatic this was the linsanity year
Dolan has no idea what he is doing.
This is when u started watching the nba brings back memories
NOVACAINE for the soul.

3:01 most illegal screen ever
which year of 2K is this?
2k12
Had them sliders way up
It wasn't 2k12 it was 2k13 because this is the 2011-12 season

2K12 was released October 4, 2011. It was based on the 2010-11 season. It has the Mavs & Heat in the demo
Gold49ersFan you are slow .. it has them because they were in the finals its based of the 2011-12 season ... explain why Kyrie is in the game then?
Holy Toledo 😂

Still can't believe the Knicks traded Novak to Toronto for Bargnani. smh
HUGE props to the Celtics for keeping it that close even with the Knicks cheesing😂
"he puts it in from SCHENECTADY!! " hahaha
Best part
@Chris Williams wrong
Chris Williams you must be a brain dead teenager if you think he said Cincinnati
Damm you guys r arguing over a comment from four yrs ago, for sure the dude even forgot about his comment😂
The Last Kim Yerim you must be a little kid, nobody here is arguing
J
R
SMITH!
That’s one of the best name calls in the garden
Damn, still find it hard to believe Novak is gone....
Back when the NBA was good and everybody was in their prime.
celtics mustve put their game sliders to 100 to come that close in the end
JR started it... Novak finished it. What a killer combo. But let's not get carried away and compare them to the splash brothers. This was one game (and there were more) but the splash bro's consistently did it and ended up in the top 6 in points in the regular season this year (Curry 2nd and Klay 6th)
What? Most PPG this year
Westbrook
Harden
LBJ
In that order, wheres curry?
Spvcely I think he means 3-pt shooting
And we still have academics who never played sports saying that the hot hand doesn't exist 😂😆
Really, math nerds who have never shot a basketball before.
You dumb ash to think Novak wasn’t cold from 3
Other than 2009, this was melo's best shot at a title.... had a young shumpert, a prime JR, a good center in chandler, still had amare stoudemire, and a sniper in Novak.
This was the last time I smiled
Great times love my Knicks
Its almost been 7 yrs since this game...
“Threeeeee point Goal J R Smithhhhhh” 😂🔥

2012 NBA
There is a legend that Carmelo had an assist that game....
that makes no sense
Carmelo ain't Kobe dude

Before Duncan Robinson there's Steve Novak 🔥🔥🔥
💯
Please never take this down
no prob bro
I'm just waiting for the day Durant, Klay and Curry all go off and the Warriors score 175
I Mean it could, they all play for different teams and all play on the same day and the Warriors happen to score 175
I was excited as fuck with this game
Those were some fun times.
Still got the 2k12 Steve Novak release on green 💸💸
Doc should’ve been a called timeout 😂😂
Mysterious Zay Llf he would've been 12 or 13 3s to late
Back when basketball was beautiful😷
anyone else remember how broken steve novak used to be in 2k? lmao
And now we back in the playoffs, time moves slow yet so fast man
Back when the Knicks were relevant...
1:25 woah jr smith hitting an uncontested 3. I can now live in peace.
Damn we had potential back then. We're a joke now. NYK for life tho
i remember this game....damn amazing game couldn't believe what was going on.
3:22 if only he did it in that game and we all know what I’m talking about 😭
year 8 of watching this one a year since this amazing game
Then Steph comes into the limelight and does all of this combined in one half 😂😂
Hahaha yep Steph carry it's still overrated
Good lord... The Knicks were killing it... Can we get back to this
3:01 Moving screen. Just had to point that out
Jr Smith and steve novak were the splash brother's back before curry and klay
Why was Novak not good with the Raptors?...
they didn't give him minutes
+Julian Tang true, but he did get a few minutes here and there when some players were out.
+Julian Tang I remember when we got Landry I was so happy but he was nothing but a bench warmer, he lost his stroke after his shoulder injury and never shot the same.
+6ix Side they just wanted a Barnynia (can't spell his name) gone and didn't care who they got back
2:57 Drop It Like it's hot was timely
if melo does passes like the one to novak in the corner with the new Knicks shooters(jennings,
lee, kuzminskas) we going to be very hard to stop😁😀
Dirk Nowitzki I don't know why you talking 2-9
mchael ams Well....
Lol
Jennings is gone and really? Kuz? Stop it.. Lee might do something.
I watch this again and then remember how we stand now in 2017.. then I cry
Super Novak
Who would have known that the very next year Phil’s Jackson would come in and dismantle everything Woodson built in this 50+ Knicks squad.
If u are a knicks fan and dont remember this u are a bandwagon
Knicks have Bandwagons?
Damn... We could use this spacing right now.
Thhreeeee poointerrr
The good old days
the fact that they traded him for someone who was hurt all of last year pisses me off
this is why i started watcing knick games again
The last knicks team that couldve won the east in my opinion. Maybe the following yr too..
Facts
Cannot believe this was 7 years ago.. feels like a lifetime ago
That first half though
You know your organization is bad when these videos are the good years.
3:20 JR having good clock awareness? What??
this vid gets me hype for every bball game i play fr

Wow, Rondo's defense is so bad, just look at 5:30 lol
+Jake Gold put him together with harden, you will have a whole new 76ers
Rondo is a great defender, but he makes mistakes
+Jake Gold just because somebody makes a mistake here and there on defense doesnt make them a bad defender jesus christ... everyone falls asleep sometimes
+Jacques Webster he fell asleep numerous times and if you payed attention the whole vid, rondo is very lazy on close outs
They were supposed to switch... you can see him pointing to Pierce. His fault.
This some legendary shit and I’m not even a Knicks fan
Phil pulled the plug way too early on Mike Woodson.
No bullshit this might be my favorite video on youtube
And we traded that for a 1st pick bust smh
You consider KP a bust? smh
Porzingis is a bust for ya?
He meant bargnani not porzingis
we traded novak for bargnani he's the former number 1 pick and trash
Roni Gorani dude how long you follow the kicks ? He meant Barganni
when the two participants of the "contest" are on the same team, it's no longer called a "contest". It's a SLAUGHTER!
