Hollywood Celebrities have loved to involved themselves in all sorts of self righteous topics, but now consequences are biting. Having alienated and attacked the audience for so long, they can no longer relate to the people they are trying to influence and control. It's taken a long time for the media and Hollywood to realise the problem as before they kept claiming they were majority. They cannot anymore. Clearly out of touch and unable to get people on board, if celebrities cannot influence the public, there isn't much reason for them to exist. They can be replaced by anyone for much less money and this means one thing, panic. It'll be interesting to see how they react to this, take it on board and promote neutrality, or double down on denial and bankruptcy. But what do you think they'll do? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

It's almost as if they are deliberately chosing the most insufferable people on the planet to put into these things. I can't understand why this would be happening unless they are intentionally at war with the consumers and fans and want these things to fail, so long as they win some ideological foothold.

But studies have shown that lawn signs and political ads do almost nothing to affect voters. The one effect that political ads have is that a persistently negative ad campaign (so basically all of them) leads to suppression of voter turnout because things are made out to be so bad that people lose hope that their vote can do anything.

    • @AnonymousNoNayme
      @AnonymousNoNayme 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@drengillespie “A surrogate activity is an activity that is directed toward an artificial goal that the individual pursues for the sake of the “fulfillment” that he gets from pursuing the goal, not because he needs to attain the goal itself. For instance, there is no practical motive for building enormous muscles, hitting a little ball into a hole or acquiring a complete series of postage stamps. Yet many people in our society devote themselves with passion to bodybuilding, golf or stamp-collecting. Some people are more “other-directed” than others, and therefore will more readily attach importance to a surrogate activity simply because the people around them treat it as important or because society tells them it is important. That is why some people get very serious about essentially trivial activities such as sports, or bridge, or chess, or arcane scholarly pursuits, whereas others who are more clear-sighted never see these things as anything but the surrogate activities that they are, and consequently never attach enough importance to them to satisfy their need for the power process in that way.”
      - Theodore J. Kaczynski, Industrial Society and Its Future
He was a genius but also r-worded in a fundamental way. That being his nihilistic narcissistic elitist reductionist nonsense like that little blurb you referenced which ignores Maslow's hierarchy of needs and the pursuit of self-actualization (and caused him to live like a poor hobo with nothing, suffer extreme social and psychological anxiety and misery his whole life, kill random innocents, and die by sewar slide in prison).
His so-called "clear-sightedness" was, in actuality, the epitome of short-sightedness. If he truly wanted to help the world as opposed to just rage against the machine he'd have looked inward instead of out, followed the Eightfold Path, and been of use to his friends and family (all of whom he disowned due to his erroneous unbalanced nihilistic extremist worldview).
He was right about a lot of things but also a totally insane idiot (and yes i do think most of his manifesto was decades ahead of its time and spot on, i just call the balls and the strikes).
Here's a much more useful and pertinent quote:
“Those who are most sensitive about "politically incorrect" terminology are not the average black ghetto-dweller, Asian immigrant, abused woman or disabled person, but a minority of activists, many of whom do not even belong to any "oppressed" group but come from privileged strata of society.” (

Her talking about Catharsis is irritating. She doesn't know what catharsis is. Catharsis is when you, through fiction, explore uncomfortable situations in order to learn how to process and manage them for real life scenarios. Catharsis is when you watch the lead from Death of a Salesman work his entire life for something he never gets and then kill himself on the idea that the world will be better off without him so that you can understand the emotions that drive people to suicide. Catharsis is when you look at the pointless deaths of Romeo and Juliet and realize that pointless feuds lead to unfortunate effects that should never have happened. Catharsis is when you challenge yourself.
Catharsis is not where you go on stage and play a role meant specifically to validate you.

Back in "the day", Hollywood celebrities enjoyed a certain air of mystery ... we only saw them in movies, on TV or heard about them in the news ... so when one of them addressed the fans directly it was kind of a big deal.
Today's celebrity is that crazy ex who keys your car, trashes your house, alienates all of your friends; but then chases you down the road screaming, "LOVE ME! LOVE ME! I NEED YOU TO LOVE ME!".
    .
As to the recent spate of Kamala Harris' "celebrity endorsements" ... they might have been more effective if the celebrities in question weren't paid millions to parrot party talking points.

I often find things like this interesting. Both Rachel Zegler and Amandla Stenberg are insecure attention seekers. They desperately want to be taken seriously. But they just can't stop themselves from being obnoxious.
This is also true of Brie Larson. She is desperate to be taken seriously, but because she is so obnoxious, everyone has turned their backs on her. It was funny watching her get interviewed after The Marvels, and she looked like she was about to start crying because everyone hates her.
That is going to happen to both Rachel Zegler and Amandla Stenberg, when it suddenly dawns on them that everyone hates them. Their self important egos are in for a very bad day, but the truth is, they deserve it.

There is a guy I work with, who has the same problem. He is a desperate attention seeker, but he comes across as a creepy pervert, and he has hit the point where nobody wants to talk to him, or listen to him, and he has started to behave himself as a result.
We have all noticed the change in his behaviour, he has stopped being obnoxious, and he is actually making an effort to be likeable.
Rachel Zegler, Amandla Stenburg, Brie Larson, Lily Singh, they are all on the same trajectory. Some more than others. That is why I said, their egos are in for a bad day, because sooner or later (probably sooner), they are going to notice everyone hates them, and they will learn their lesson at that point.

It's almost as though films need to actually be interesting to behold, well-written and of high quality to get people into theaters, rather than leaning on celebrity influence. They need to be sold on a premise, a scene or a genre, rather than an IP or an actor. It's almost like...that's how movies used to work when they were the most popular entertainment medium on the planet, or something.
