Albastine S. Never. Giving up on something you feel deeply about can be very soul crushing. I’m sure he would have given up on the idea of it wasn’t for the mass amount of people who still yearn for his vision of the game. It keeps his dream alive because it is also our dream to see it complete in one way or another. There are plenty of other directors that can work on something else.

Let’s be honest the main problem with ff15 was the fact we (or I) wanted to be in Insomnia the entire time, being Noctis fighting through the siege of the capital. Instead I was fishing lmao. Like ff15 turned into everything this trailer was not...I remember being in high school, mind totally blown with this. I also remember 10 years later.....the excitement and disappointment lol.
Exactly same boat. Seeing how much of the game was set in Insomnia got me very excited. One of the reasons I love the Yakuza franchise so much is because it's mostly set in Tokyo, and it's also the biggest reason I'm excited for FF7 Remake.

What ruined it for me was that 80% of this game was a road trip simulator, lack luster romance with Luna barely having any screen time, and disappointing gameplay

How they can finish this game... If the engine it self is the problem.. This game was supposed to be base on last generation ps3 but the engine is way to demanding that is why they jump to ps4.. Even on ps4 the engine graphics is still demanding even on pc... They will never use this engine again on ps5.. That is why kingdom hearts 3 did not use ff15 engine graphics it is way demanding..ff15 engine graphics is demanding but the visual is not very nice ..
@@sniperstg2 What they meant is the change during production. FF15 is a complete different version of the original idea that Nomura was making which was supposed to be FF13Versus and it was basically near complete before it was scrapped.
Nomura is so bitter that they cancelled VS13 that he will put in the KH universe which for me is amazing since many people were hyped for this game..... Can't wait for the new installment of KH it will be amazing if they go that route :)

10 years..10 long years, but we along with his dream are still breathing despite all the attempts to crush. This tenacity that Nomura has shown is on a completely different level. Easily misunderstood as petty childishness..but a man's dream is nothing to scuff at. We all have things we wish to create and show the world, Nomura is no different.

XV does, but Versus XIII has sadly been changed too much to be called the same
Not saying it's a bad thing, but it's sad to know we'll never see the game as it was meant to be
Revisiting these old videos, certainly in terms of gameplay it looks very similar. Whether or not these stories or set pieces from these old videos will be in the final game remains to be seen. Given all the personnel changes throughout its development history, something tells me the story will be different for sure
Director changes do change a game. As soon as FFVII remake was announced, my theory has been that Nomura took the epic Kingdom Hearts-like action seen in this trailer with him to the FFVII remake. Just look at the gameplay between this trailer and the FFVII remake gameplay and tell me what you think! It has been my hope for a while, much to the detriment of other FFVII fans, that FF Vs XIII gameplay will live on in the FFVII remake.

I among other too hope Nomura could someday make an alternate timeline with the stories of Noctis and Stella in Versus XIII.

Watching this trailers my heart brakes for Nomura, this was his dream project, he spent so many years developing it, and I believe he would have finished it if not a broken engine, most importantly he had an incredible vision for the story, and with all due respect what we got in XV is subpar at best. At least we have FF VII Remake, and although others might disagree I think he did incredible job on it and I definitely look forward to future parts and I really hope that he will make Verum Rex happen.

Not even that much, he didn't even have a clear script in 7 years, but if Square's resources hadn't focused so much on FF13, maybe Versus would have come out.

This looks so much better than what we wound up getting, I love how they spend more time building up Insomnia before you head out into the world, I love how Noctis is haunted by visions of his father it would've added so much weight to his assassination and minimal role in Noctis' life, I love how Noctis' ability to use his powers depends on his proximity to the Crystal, I love the presence of cutscenes that are designed to enrich our understanding of the world like the one with Stella and Noctis
Ditto. It's not that FFXV was bad (far from it), but there were so many weak points that it severely hampered the game mid-way through - they struggled to tell the story in-game, and patched things up with out-of-sequence DLCs. Regis, Luna, Iggy, Ardyn, and Noct all got shafted. Tabata worked with what he had and came out with a more than decent product, but if left in Nomura's hands, we would've gotten much more cohesive story telling and better world and character building.

Their implementing what was supposed to be the game in the next kh instalment and what was left out of 15 the creator himself said the game was incomplete and rushed a2o no remake Epsically since 15 told most of the story that versus was trying to do

They found the Spaceworld Demo for Pokemon Gold and Silver from 1997 very recently, so anything's possible
I wish that too. But I highly doubt it. Square Enix is notorious for losing the original code to their games, even their well renowned published games. I suspect they probably were told by corporate to delete all existing assets of this build.

I feel like this trailer deepens the theory that Yozora is indeed Noctis FF V13 Nobody. Does anyone else feel like the flavored text could be referencing sora/KH aswell ;3 "This is a fantasy based on reality" "A meeting predestined to divine" [sora vs yozora at end of remind], this is the one that gets me "Eye's that see the light of expiring souls" [yozora sees sora whom basically is expired in limbo in that night sky realm]. "An act of love by the last king" [yozora wants to save sora badly, to save the girl he was trying to save in verum rex trailer that talked to sora in final world], another one that gets me, "The figure that still lies asleep in the Fantasy" [Sora/Yozora in a dreamscape? riku going into dream, kairis dreams.]. Idk just speculating but could of influenced the future plot :3
Hope so i really want versus 13 with yozora (who is noctis nobody like u said) and his 3 companion (still there is one missing in verum rex trailer where's prompto nobody?) and with Luxord being the driver and maybe the nameless star who is Stella we can still have hope

Watching this in 2020 and i still think there is more plot here than the actual FFXV. Also Stella has more screentime and background plot here than Luna in whole FFXV.

Now THIS should have been the gameplay for XV. The gameplay here is EXACTLY like Kingdom Hearts. (Enemy health bars, command menus) The combat in XV is so tedious, and i always find myself using 10-15 health potions each battle.

@@wreday720 alpha is usually a finished product that gets huge bug fixes and balances (+ minor additions) this looks like more of a pre pre alpha footage, kind of like how kingdom hearts 3 looked 6 years before its release, this game was far from complete, infact id guess it was nowhere near 50% complete

Chibi pointed out quite a lot about her, if I may add, The power Noctis, and Stella both have are powers that can only be used by members of the Royal Family. Which is why you also see Noctis' father using this power, pointing his blades at what I presume is Stella's father. They hail from two different nations. So I assume the conflict between Tenebrae, and Noctis' nation is what causes them to fight. He protects the final crystal from the other nations.

They anounced Final Fantasy versus 13 when i was 16 and i was 26 when i finnished Final Fantasy 15. I was so disappointed I really wish this was the game i played. Watching this again at the age of 30 brings back memories of nostalgi
Watching this always makes me think of how much work was probably done on the game, just to have it all thrown out. So sad, it looked so beautiful and melancholic .

Watching this trailer and remembering what FFXV was like, you see how much had changed during the course of development. They kept the character designs and music, but everything else was completely changed.

I didn't die. Ever. And that's what I did for the vast majority of the fights, including the final one. The combat system is garbage. And I believe you meant "won," but maybe that's expecting too much from someone who liked this terrible game.
This looked a lot like Kingdom Hearts. FF7R kind of looks like a mix between FF12 and FF13.

porque si salio la historia del juego, era el versus de FF XIII los lucie eran los guardianes no los enemigos y el principe noctis era el guardian de la piedra que le concederia poderes especiales para proteger a su ciudad o pais, stella (la que modificadon y cambiaron por luna) representaba la luz y noctis la oscudirad ella queria la piedra que guardaba noctis para salvar a su planeta pero noctis era el ultimo de su linaje que guardaba esa piedra que tenia poderes asi que se combirtieron en antagonistas el uno del otro, aunque en el fondo sentian cierta atracion entre ellos, en esa historia deviamos elegir entre luz o oscudirad de que lado ponernos del guardian de la joya y de su reino o de la princesa venira de otro planeta para salvarlo con la joya. en el XV aparecen como novios sepadaros por la guerra civil que acomete en los dos juegos ella consigue la joya que da poderes y misteriosamente noctis obtiene poderes y la tiene que buscar por el mundo para reenctrarse con su prometida y obtener la joya que el deveria poseer y custoriar hasta su muerte

Compared to the predecesor FF series, squareenix give love more into graphic lately than give love to the storyline, and gameplay. The scenes and gameplay on FF XIII versus version looks better compared to the FF XV version, i don't mind with graphic in the FF XIII versus version. I was shocked to see so many changed from the game development (story, gameplay). in sad meaning. lol

This really feels like watching the first version of xiv, the animation is smoother. SE seems to always had this habit of starting projects so ambitious until they face the reality with engines' limitations, platforms capability, huge data storage and deadlines..

Wow... This looks so much better than XV, and do not get me wrong, even with all of it's flaws, I enjoyed XV, but this looks so much deeper.
this guy deadass looks like Yozora but with enough changes, Nomura can pass it off as "not versus 13".
Secret Boss even has a similar song style, and you can see the secret ending clearly connecting to the beginning of the trailer.

Well, this looks so raw, yet so unique, this would be an incredible game.
*CONCERNS ANSWERED:* Everything in this trailer will be in the game as nomura changed NOTHING in terms of story, Everything in this trailer will be upgraded if anything. Also for those who are concerned about how Stella(what looked like to be hence the white dress in contrast to black like here along with the hair) was running with Noctis in the new E3 trailer comparing it to this trailer (how they don't know each other) dont worry about it. Stella and Noctis mere death experience could of been SO traumatic they lost there memories and this could be the first time they have seen each other in many years, Noct aswell as Stella could easily regain there memories throughout the game or whatever Scenario Nojima and Nomura think up.
Story details
I have a STRONG feeling it won't be EXACTLY like hamlet but borrow elements like Noctis slow decent into Madness because of his "Eyes that see Death", going through stages like Rage, Vengeance, Hatred then Madness all being shown through his recklessness...he is a normal kid and most would be blinded by these emotions when your Father MAY be killed aswell as your kingdom POSSIBLY on the edge of destruction and your cursed to know when people you love or care for around you might die...then there is his lost memories of Stella, his freinds AND the his Kingdom trying to retrieve the crystal for his people making him feel a clusterfuck of emotions amd decisions. Noctis has the ability to be one of THEE most intetesting and Tormented Characters in Final Fantasy history. Will vengeance take him blinding his motive of retrieving the crystal? aswell as his recklessness put others at risk?!, or will his eyes drive him to madness first? What about his Kingdom and his people?! His lost memories of Stella and the Accident aswell! Fking can't wait for this game! Nomura is right! That's a fking heavy burden to carry. Nojima&Nomura!!!!
