Your obvious joy of being in Kruger shines through. We're from the UK, and we'll be back there twice more next year. What a wonderful country South Africa is.
It's a stunning bird! I'm amazed at the watercolours every time we get the opportunity to sit and watch one, and then the brightness when it spreads its wings. 😍🐦
I'm always happy when our videos remind our viewers of good times in their own lives. Memories are very precious, especially those of good times with good people in the best place on earth. 🚙😊
The sounds of the bush carry us away sometimes and we can easily get stuck next to the side of the road, just listening to the sounds of nature. It's one of the most special things about Kruger for us, so I'm so glad you enjoy that too. Thank you for watching! 😍🚙
Alla wereld dit was so mooi om die reen te sien danbaar daarvoor. Dit was of als so rustig was tot die potjie man dit het heerlik gelyk. Baie dankie veilig wees
It was indeed a very slow and peaceful day and the rain made it even more so. It made the smiles on our faces even wider! 😁🌧️ Our potije was in one word delicious! 🥘😋
It was so good to hear and see the rain. I enjoyed the different species of birds and not forgetting those gorgeous animals. I always love the food. Stay safe.❤
The rain did our hearts good as well, we were super excited when it started to fall. 🌧️ It was a toss-up between the wildlife and the food that day, both were just so good! 😍🥘🐘
Lovely day and you got some really great close ups of the animals you saw. So lovely there and that potjie got me wanting potjie as well. Safe travels ❤
This is nature at its best. Loved close-up action of the buffalos and elephants. And that guinea fowl, scratching up the dirt and rolling in it and showering itself with the dirt. I assume it's to get rid of parasites. Your camera work is excellent it's like being right there. All in all, it is very enjoyable .
I appreciate your kind compliment, thank you. 😊 Your explanation of the guineafowl dusting itself off makes complete sense to me. We thought that was very interesting behaviour which we've never seen before. 🦆🚙
@DustBugsTravel I've never seen that type of behaviour from a bird species either. Nature is so wonderful. There's always a surprise around the corner
Thank you for such a wonderful day in the Kruger. Ellies my favourite! My Dad always had to stop at every warthog sighting as I love them so much too. You are a super special couple 🤗 love your conversations and laughs!
You sound like Sonia, she makes me stop at almost every single sighting too, no matter we've already seen many of the same animals that day already! 😍🐘 🐗 That's all good with me though, the more time I can spent watching wildlife, the happier I am. I'm glad you enjoy watching our escapades, we enjoy having you along! 🚙😁
Another day of awesomeness! The elephants on the road to Crocodile Bridge after the rain left me spellbound, as did the buffaloes at arms reach. I love your enamel mugs you enjoy your morning hot chocolate from. They are the epitome of a trip in the bush. Look forward to day four ........
I agree with you about the elephants. They're just such giant, magnificent creatures and we were rather mesmerised by them too. The buffalo were super calm and relaxed and it was great observing them up close too. 😍🐃🐘 Our enamel mugs worked like charm for our hot drinks in the morning. ☕
I really enjoyed this restful day loved all the birds it good to see them especially that Guinea fowl having a sand bath. That lonely Lotus flower (water lily) was so beautiful. The animal are gorgeous never seen a Giraffe lying down before stunning. Thank you so much for this episode 😊❤❤
That guineafowl in the sand was fascinating to watch! 😍🦃 We're still taken aback every time we see a giraffe lying down, it remains an unusual sight for us too. I'm so glad you're enjoying the slow pace and all the birdies, it's fantastic to know you're on our backseat all the way. 😁🚙
Well, hello there! It's so good to hear from you. Thanks for the info on that plant, it had an interesting look about it. 🎋 You must also be missing Kruger like crazy after having only been home for a few days. I wish we could have a chat in front of our huts this very moment, you guys were awesome neighbours! 👊🏻🏡
In 1974 I was in the military band in Pretoria. We had to go to Nelspruit to do a parade, on a day off we went by bus to The Kruger National Park and were lucky enough to see a pride of lions, a total of 21, cubs lions and lionesses, all taking their time crossing the road.
It was fantastic for all the wildlife in that area to not have to worry about water and to be able to sip it right from the road. From the elephant, to the buffalo, right down to the little oxpecker. Magic stuff! 🐦🐃🐘
Guys, that was a Super Outing 🎉 Loved all the animals we saw❤ Oooh and the Birds were so Beautiful 😍 As for your potjie Cutis, you had my taste buds drooling 🤤 Sonia you have a wonderful sense of humor 😅 and I love that laugh of your 😂 Thank you 🙏
The birds must've been the crowning glory of Day 3, they were super beautiful and we loved seeing them too! 😍🐦 My darling wife's sense of humour was one of the first things I noticed about her a long time ago and she still makes me laugh many times a day. ❤️
Hi guys nice to see you both all the animals so close to the car. Curt glad you and Sonia had your hot chocolate again. Keeps you warm in the cold weather. Enjoy your next trip can't wait to see it your potjie looks Devine
The hot chocolate was so good, no wonder it's Sonia's favourite. It's also much easier than Milo, which will always be tops for me. ☕ Our potjie was top-notch, I can still taste it! 😛🥘
Hi guys easing in to the Kruger loved the relaxed vibe the first sight of the elephants in the road mind-blowing what a picture. The big fires in the distance were quite scary but then you said that the farmers started them in the cane fields what a relief. Great to be on the gravel the variety of game plus the bird life off the scale and your favourite fish Eagle and hippos. There was a programme on TV a while back called snakes in the city English guy was a snake catcher in Durban the places snakes got stuck crazy. Loved the potjie my mouth was watering. That's for taking me along cheerio till the next one
Snakes seem to be able to squirm their way into the craziest places, I can't even begin to imagine how nervous the snakecatchers must be. That's one job which is not for me. 😳🐍 The potjie was absolutely fantastic, I wish I could have some leftovers this evening for dinner. That would go down a treat! 😁🥘
That's interesting and I'm sure we've noticed it before, but we're usually stuck on the horns of the males and the targets on the behinds. We'll make a point of checking their noses out properly next time we're in the Park! 😍🦌
😊 just stunning, love this close up filming of these Wild beautiful animal, and the rain was a real bonus ☔️☔️ How long are you two staying this time in the Park, looks like one can film there for ever and ever, take care 👍🇦🇺😊💐🙏
The rain was indeed a bonus and so very welcome in the Park! 🤩🌧️ We're back home already, so we'll tell you the trip was way too short. If we had our way, we'd start filming on Day 1 and never leave or stop! We love it that much. 🚙❤️
@ , I so wanted to visit Kruger and nearly did, we were booked for March 2000 but was cancelled because of the heavy rain at that time , so we went to PilandsBerg , but only saw few animals, must be because of the rain too, did see my favourite the giraffes, awesome 🤩 so left South Africa very happy…loved your Potjie Kos as well 😅 I could smell it, looked so delicious 😋 Looking forward to day 4, thank you both 👍💐🇦🇺
Great video again! We just checked in to Skukuza rest camp & transfer to shalanti on Monday, watched your video of the train restaurant and had to try it.
I hope you have the most fantastic time in that magical place! You're so fortunate to be able to overnight at Shalati, that looks like an incredible experience! 😍🚟 I'm sure you'll enjoy your meal at the train restaurant, we did ours!
We're as far from angels as is possible! 🤭 We just love all kinds of wildlife and don't ever want to see anything hurt. I do believe they must've had a tough time getting those two snakes out of that engine that day. 😨🐍
What a trip! I could spend a day amongst Ellie's, such gracious animals. Your potjie made me hungry. I'm looking forward to day 4. How long are you staying in the KNP this time? I didn't see Dusty or Sandy on this trip, though. Enjoy your time there ❤
If Sonia had her way, we would spend hours at every single elephant we pass by, she loves them that much! 😍🐘 All I'll tell you for now, is that our stay wasn't long enough and we wish with all our might that we were back there. Dusty and Sandy were so busy watching game and the birdies, they said they're not in the mood to pose for every episode. They were there every step of the way though and enjoyed every moment with us. 😍🐻
Another good day with much enjoyment. I love the potjie but for me the wine goes in a glas and never in my food...but then again we cannot all be the same hey😂
😁 Yup, that's what makes life so interesting! For us again, as you very well know, wine very seldom goes into a glass, unless it sparkles. 🍾 I know you enjoy your wine and so it should be. Our excuse is that we're both from upcountry! 😉 Cheers to you! 🍷
Looks like you guys might really enjoy getting into proper birding at some stage. Once through the initial hurdles a whole new experience opens up. Start by making a list of birds you were able to positively identify and take it from there. Keep going and good luck
Wow, so many highlights in this episode! We had to watch it in 3 sessions, as it's been hectic here getting ready for our trip to SA. I'd be over the moon if birds also land on our vehicle, like that wagtail landing on your bonnet! The number of birds on the wild animals was also, as Curtis may say, wild!
@ My pleasure - I saw Black Crake too (as well as the Helmeted Guineafowl having a dust bath) in the video. I’ve been trying to get familiar with S African birds and the Kruger as I’m visiting next year (for the first time). The love you have for the animals and the park comes across beautifully in your videos and I’m the one who should be thanking you 💚
The rain is nice it washes everything clean. Quite a lot of animal activity. Potties looked Devine wish I could join you. Thanks for this nice trip I enjoyed it. Next one I am there
It rained super hard at one point, it was awesome to see that section of the Park get some water. 😍🌧️ The potjie was indeed divine, if I have to say so myself! 😝🥘
My method is extremely simple, but worked just fine. 😁 I used a metal scrubbing brush to get rid of any rust particles, washed the pot with dishwashing liquid and then oiled it several times with regular cooking oil. I'm glad you concur on the Tassies, it really brought out the flavours of the ingredients. 🥘🍷
Lekker!
We call the dish 'potjiekos', but as many people there are, as many different recipes you'll find. Families develop their own combination of ingredients, based on their own preferences. But they're virtually always delicious, so you can't go wrong with any recipe! 😁🥘 I love our new DustBugs mugs too! Hopefully I'll find the time one day to set up shop and you can most certainly order your very own then! 😝☕
Your obvious joy of being in Kruger shines through. We're from the UK, and we'll be back there twice more next year. What a wonderful country South Africa is.
That Lilac Brested Roller is the most beautifully marked bird that I've ever seen. Thank you
It's a stunning bird! I'm amazed at the watercolours every time we get the opportunity to sit and watch one, and then the brightness when it spreads its wings. 😍🐦
Thanks for the journey. Brings back so many good memories od that area.

I am so glad you also concentrated on the various birds. People just ride right pass them and dont appreciate their beauty
Cannot get enough of the Kruger 😅
That makes three of us! 🤩🚙
It was so good to hear and see the rain. I enjoyed the different species of birds and not forgetting those gorgeous animals. I always love the food. Stay safe.❤

Hi Sonya and Curtis, today was amazing, I loved the birds. Thanks for sharing❤5❤❤❤❤
The birds weren't shy in the rain at all and were happy to pose for me, which I was very happy about. 😍🐦 Thank you for coming along!
Lovely day and you got some really great close ups of the animals you saw. So lovely there and that potjie got me wanting potjie as well. Safe travels ❤
Yay!
Yup, that's how we felt too! 🥳
Thank you DustBugs 😊Another fantastic video! I really enjoyed 🙏🏻🤗

WHAT A LOVELY DAY AND WHAT AN AMAZING POTJIE !!!! SLEEP TIGHT. SEE YOU GUYS ON DAY NUMBER 4 !!!!
The potjie was indeed amazing, my tummy and I were blissfully happy that night when I crawled into bed! 😋🥘 We look forward to meeting again on Day 4!
