Haw River Kayaking

A few of us caught our one of our local runs after some rain. The Middle and Lower Haw River offer some great opportunities for fun and skill development. You just never know what you may come across out there! P5 did a great job carving up Gabriel's Bend.

We've done those sections several times but at minimums in our sit on top kayaks. They are really fun. What was the water flow on this trip? I'm guessing too much for us but wanted to get a sense of what we could do in-between. We done 350-400cfm which was fun but kind of scrapie. Love you videos!

This was filmed around the Independence Day weekend, that's why Pete mentioned the Week of Rivers. The weather was perfect that weekend. We paddled Sax to Union at 3.5ft and had all the river to ourselves most of the time. Most ppl rented yaks and went floating on the lake upstream.
Did the Upper Haw yesterday at 4.7ft which was also amazing
