- For over 30 years, Mr Sim Kah Lim painted vivid scenes of a long-gone Singapore - from behind the walls of his home at the Institute of Mental Health. A prolific artist since the age of 4, he'd always dreamt of one day sharing his gift with the world.

He is just so likeable!
‘same as anybody else?’ No he is not, given his circumstances and yet still demonstrates inventive methodology(self-taught), there is genius in him
The sister is what made him possible. Every week for 33 years!!!!
This man deserves so much! I hope the singapore government recognises his talent and provide him with the resources his need to help him achieve his dream of creating more masterpieces. Imagine if he has not been confined within IMH, the kind of paintings he can product to depict our world.
I believe what society characterises as 'mental illness' is uniqueness. Some people just see the world so much more differently than others.

Must be truly blessed to see Mr. Lim evolving to such great heights in his own ways. Society must always lend a hand to support these people; they didn't choose to be in such conditions in the first place. They deserve our help in anyway we can render. To all those out there who never feel tired of dispensing your support, God richest blessings.

He drew so much better than ARTS student who took Fine Arts As Major hahaha!! He self taught save him so much rather than going to some ARTS school in Singapore and still unable to find job after graduation HAHA

I’m so glad that he’s still alive. The most Creative people are those who suffer the most. Examples are artists such as The tortured Vincent Van Gogh, the famous Beethoven and the beautiful Sylvia Plath :(
