- Made in the USSR . This is Soviet Russian toy, 70s last century. We have restored it and hope it will keep this look for a long time.
We worked for 7 days, it was so hard for us becaouse we are not proffesionals, but we did our maximum

A great opportunity was missed here. This car now needs to be handed off to the person who can give it a real restoration as it deserves.
Why paint the headlight glass blue ? It ruined the look.

Thank God that I'm not the only one! Headlight painted was a miss. In the LED era, you put some real light there!
I would've gone with a dukes of Hazzard theme sand blast it prime it sand it paint it orange put a 01 on the side and the flag on the back new (reupholstered) seat. Give the front a charger look.

Dude that was one of the worst restoration I've seen. You didn't sandblast it or prime it or sand that down and the painting of the lights. This could have been so sweet.

I had a pedal tractor 59 yrs. ago.
They need to build pedal cars again. Those battery operated ones not only break easily, but they do nothing to help a kid stay physically active. The pedal models at least made the kids exercise.

I had a same car in my childhood. This one (restored) looks 95% the same as my car was (my was green). So, it's good restoration. Soviet children cars wasn't very pretty ones, so this one looks mostly like typical soviet children car.

I was eager to watch the whole process...I used to have one of those pedal cars as a child...I have to say I'm kibd of disaponinting on the way it developed...thinking of me as a boy...I would cry for such a transformation.

Really like all the hair and dust you got in the paint. It really makes the drips stand out.
Buddy you need a long Phillips screwdriver and some penetrating oil. Lock washers are missing too. However you did a great job on the windshield and the custom bumpers. So your getting a thumbs up from me.

Thanks for sharing this video, there were some things that have been done better, but overall a satisfactory completion. Attention to priming the metal before a final coat of paint would help. Penetrating oil like WD-40 will help with rusted bolts. Looking forward to your upcoming videos.
Everyone's got to start somewhere and life is a massive learning curve,there is things we've all done ring while learning how to restore things,this is a good effort for someone with limited knowledge,and the more they do they will gain confidence
Why did you paint the headlights blue? What car have you seen has blue headlights?(and I'm not talking about the Xenon lights) Did you not have any penetrating oil or what?

Silver on the back of the lenses would have been better. And orange inside the wing lights too. Otherwise, a good job.

I'm surprised you didn't give those taillight a a coat of red paint.
I am impressed at how well the Krylon Chrome worked on the bumpers.

Pro tip for next time, use primer, then wet sand, THEN put the paint. This makes sure the shell is dent free and smooth. Ivan understand perfectly that you weren’t pros, but I really don’t think you should’ve made this until you read a book that at least told you about sanding. Also, wirewheeling, really?! It’s that small! It wouldn’t have taken more than at least 2 minutes to sand that down with little elbow grease.
Right? And then learn how to tape. Those stripes are piss-poor
Here's another pro tip from a non-pro, next time you find one of these, do it a favor and leave it alone.

Nice! But, missed opportunity. You could easily have added some LED bicycle lights to the headlights and tail lights for very inexpensive...instead of painting the headlights.

Are you as Dumb as this Ass is in trying to restore this what could have been worth a lot of money !!! He uses over sized washers. Used old ass nuts & bolts. Used a grinder instead of a Sand Blaster. And uses Kmart's old ass spray paint. This dude is worse then Peter Pan trying to drive a damn 18 Wheeler.
I was born in 1977! That car is as old as me ;) A nice touch would be adding led lights,a battery and a switch to it.
I'm diggin that paint technique.
Might I suggest using primer first, wet sand, and then give it the paint job you want

A good effort for what little tools they had and they say in the description they are not professionals maybe they will learn from this car and the next one will be better
Again....if you want your chanel to grow as a person that does restoration....you will do everything to accommodate the viewers. You'll buy tools. The paint isnt the isseu it looks fine but did you see how shit the grill looked. Tysytube restorations also had limited stuff but he worked with the comments and started getting proper equipment for his restorations. Since day one he did his viewers proud
You don't need good tools you could do this job with the bare minimum. It's all about preparation and patients.

I had a firetruck when I was a kid, it would be a blast if they made them big enough for adults. This was the best part of my childhood, dude wd40 works great on rusted screws. Great job, I guess you didn't like the color of the General Lee. ( ORANGE. )
You really need to learn how to use a screwdriver properly and use wd40 instead of just grinding rusty bolts off

Headlights needed to be painted. They were to weathered and fraid to do anything else with. Blue headlights are commonly seen in today's "hot rod" type cars. Good job.

This car should have been sent out for sandblasting and bodywork. Then powder coating .
Despite all the unnecessary negative comments I really enjoyed this! It may not be perfect, but it's a million times better than it was at the start. I'm sure any child would be delighted to own it.

Good. Let me see. Cleaning of rusty parts. Then we can save some time by skipping the rust removal, sanding, polishing, priming and final sanding steps. So let's go straight to the painting. It really is very economical, but I don't think it's very durable. It is not very beautiful either.
