@@harithoma-a-8157 In terms of direct effects, probably Hiyoko, yes. Ibuki can still do physical damage to people with her music. All other members also had a very direct influence on people in terms of killing them or brainwashing them, but I think just dancing won't be that effective, so she needs someone like Ibuki to 'power up' so to speak.
Aside for Izuro, i'd argue that Sonia is the most dangerous. She has power, money, royal status, and knows a lot about military. She most likely caused a war between most of the countries
Okay can we talk about how Chiaki was the only good person in the class which is why she was the traitor as in the traitor in these despair's but ended up dying yet her hope for her friends never died she was honestly one of the best girls but other than that Ibuki's despair LOOKS AMAZING I SWEAR SHE'S EVEN BETTER GIRL

@@arisa-exe My head canon is that somehow chiaki a.i. gradually becomes real Chiaki, after chiaki a.i. dies in the Tetris game, she is much more different and humane in hinata's mind. the ghost at the end of the series admits herself to be the a.i. but states she will be part of their future. Maybe she uploaded into Hinata's mind. And maybe real Chiaki gradually got revived into a blend between her and the a.i. Who knows. But there is hope. And thanks to this hope, we know that chiaki is either resting in peace, or literally part of Hajime.

Ngl, I kinda wish The Remnants had a time to shine in this series. They only appeared in one episode and on a monitor and that’s it. It’s awesome how they were supposed to be the original antagonists of Ultra Despair Girls. But it’s also sad that they were switched out with fucking kids man. LordCommander 3575 not exactly, it was because of the brain washing method developed by Ryota. It was used along with the live footage of chiaki. They didn’t fall into despair out of pain and grief, they literally had no choice.

Gundham used the power of Mother Nature to wreck havoc on the cities, he trained the animals to mass murder, probably one of the most dangerous remnants, and Twogami took advantage of Byakuya being trapped in the building and pretended to be Byakuya and took down the whole company from the inside.
Mahiru also blackmailed people to do her bidding using incriminating photos.

@@MarzBarz71222 i know right i searched for a while and the best i could find outside of the show was fanfiction of all thing one called the Days that follow with them waking up one by one and delling with PTSD and ghost of the past literally in some cases. Very good read and long too. And as for sonia well she trys to hold onto hope but over the chapters she has a LOT to think about and the others.

Knowing they never wanted to become the Ultimate Despair hurts so much. Episode 10 of Despair Arc still breaks my heart not just for Chiaki, but also the fact Junko destroyed their spirits with her death. To me that’s the worst thing she could have done to them and it still hurts years later.
I am happy that it was them who ultimately destroyed Alter Ego Junko and finally were able to retain their lost sanity from her in the end
I completely agree. After years of her torture and brainwashing, the fact that they were the ones that killed their captor and torturer to be completely satisfying. They finally broke free of her.

The whole concept of the anime is just sad. Usually in anime’s, the main protagonists always falls into situations and then wins at the end of the battle but this hits different. It’s sad how these classmates had so much hope and then fell into despair to spread it like a virus. And not just that, but Chisa...can’t get over her. She had high hopes for them and was the first to fall into despair. But it was a different kind. Instead of joining the students, she was more of an undercover. Knowing how she fell into despair, (Spoilers) she was the first to die. She was brainwashed not once but twice into killing herself. And she too was the main reason for giving each student hope so seeing her succumbed to despair like that breaks my heart. And it breaks my heart more how all the students came to help at the final episode just to leave without knowing what happened to their favorite teacher with a smile on their faces....it still ache me. But we must not forget that before falling to despair, she was still her, through and through. I just wished I could have seen a bit more..

chiaki's death was one of the saddest scenes in my list. the part where kamukura cries made it even more sad. and playing the DR2 made me fell to despair. then that last episode came up and I thought she was alive. it was all imaginary. THE GODDAMN GAME WAS A SHOW AFTER ALL!

Honestly the remnants of despair has always intrigued me. Don’t get me wrong I love them before the despair but there is something super interesting seeing them as despair. I wish the Dr people had gave us a deeper look on what was happening while Naegi and the others were in the killing game.

I get a lot of the potential for legitimate despair with a lot of the students. Between Fuyuhiko and Sonia, they have secondary leadership and numbers beneath what I'm assuming is Izuru's ultimate lead. Then heavy-men fighters like Nekomaru and Akane. Individual terrors like Mikan and honestly Nagito is terrifying in ANY setting once you stir his shit....
But like...what did Mahiru and Saionji do? Dance and take pics the whole time? Did Saionji bully people into despair? I'm legit confused as to their rolls.
Inmate08515 mahiru took pictures of the other despair acts as fear mongering and essentially was the like the “news media” in real life, and also pictures for blackmail! Saionji is a female celebrity who has many devoted fans boys/girls which is quite scary, using her celebrity influence just how they do in real life

I'm gonna be real. The second games cast is my favorite by far. Not my favorite game in the series but my favorite characters. When I watched danganronpa 3 I actually started to cry to the point where it caused an asthma attack. See the characters I love like this actually makes me sad and so see this makes real despair.
At the first game i didn't really felt that much despair and then the second game came and this anime. I watched it like 7 months ago and i'm still not over how f sad it was

Seeing these kids bringing utter ruin to the world after spending so much time with them in the game is just so heartbreaking. Danganronpa 2 had my favorite cast of characters and it genuinely makes me very sad and uneasy when I see them causing such despair.

The despair video didn't change him or corrupt him like the others but rather strengthen his belief.
Komaeda was the only one who developed a kind of resistance to the crazy despair that Junko offered because his obsession with hope caused him to develop a love / hate towards Junko (not just pure love like the others). That is why he conspired to demolish despair to make the hope bigger, albeit in the most controversial way possible.

Think about Mondo with an army of bikers, Gonta fighting along with a swarm of insects just like Gundham, Sayaka and Kaede singing along with Hioko and Ibuki, Cihiro hacking all computers and playing the killing games videos that Junko made, Kyio and Angie creating a despair cult, Miu upgrading Keebo to be a killing machine, Sakura Ryoma Tenko and Maki fighting along with Akane Peko and Neko. Kirumi Celestia Kokichi and Ishimaru making togheter a despair political party, and Shuichi being like Izuru

Dude the song in the background fits into the scenario of how everyone has fallen to despair and driven crazy and especially how the emotion of the song is equal to the true events of the tragedy especially with all of this starting with chiaki a death with all of this together it is so powerfully presented to point where I myself have fallen to despair I give you my respect this cover of the song fits the atmosphere so perfectly

That's ironic how Fuyuhiko's right eye is the one that has Junko's eye in the ,,real world" while in Danganronpa 2 Goodbye Despair his right eye got injured

I know the fandom is insane, and people start to dislike everything about Danganronpa just because of that but I believe this entire franchise is among the greatest things ever written. And you yourself get to piece and learn about everything as you go, playing the game, watching the anime. Yeah, it's not like there's lore you have to dig deep to find out, you're shown it, told. But it's just so brilliant, how any of this exists. So much detail as well, in every corner. Anime and games. And it really hits sometimes, leaves an impact. Imagining such a despairing world, these students succumbing to despair. Fuck, teruteru cooked his own mother, someone who he loved so much. He panicked to hell on that island, when he learned that they had been there for a year or 2. Chisa.. Chiaki, Hajime. All these fictional characters and it's just so sad to think about.
I agree. The first two games really are great and sit right on that line between too-silly and creepy comedy. I'd argue the 3rd game and the anime (not the 1st anime but the one after the 2nd game) kind of lost that magic, though. (Also, yes, the fandom is probably full of teenagers, judging by the comments I see. I just learn to ignore the fandoms entirely unless I really care what they have to say.)
