This is Chanel, not an American show like VS. French high couture is very classy, without excess, it's not supposed to be like VS where there's almost confettis and fire around each model. This is elegance, this is French, Americans are more outstanding, more into making something big so don't compare French with American. Both are great but very different.
For exemple, Bella hadid would be very noticed in a VS show, everybody would look at her when she makes her entrance, here she is presenting the clothing and not herself, she is very serious and elegant.
Again, both are great, just very different

I don't think anybody that's commenting understands what it's like to go to an event as important as one like this. One, the models aren't supposed to be smiling, this isn't a Victoria Secret fashion show. Two, when people in the audience are laughing and smiling, the models will easily brake character, especially if they see a relative or someone they know in general. Three, Chanel is very professional, Victoria Secret is a show to show off beauty, attitude, and personality, but Chanel is all about the brand, seriousness, and looking professional. There's a huge difference. And before you ask, yes, I'm a model myself and I have attended many, many, many events as serious as one like this. You get into serious trouble if you break character, modeling is very stressful.

high fashion is a lot more "serious" than VS shows and don't compare them pls. Couture is all about shapes and elegance where VS shows r more about the body and the person wearing the lingerie. High fashion is like art on the body and it showcases the art whereas VS shows are kinda more relaxed and not as serious and is more ab confidence if that makes sense. Do not compare the two lmao they are astronomically different and that's y the facials r different. Since HF showcases like I said, the "art" they want to draw the attention down to that not the face, you don't see ppl in high fashion waving their hands around on the runway do you? leave it alone the models are doing what they are asked and paid for and they r doing amazing!!

This may have been 5 years ago...but these clothes are awful, with the exception of only several. Buckles on every suit and gown. I luv hats but the style of these hats with suits was atrocious.
