- Today we look at the evolution of the Austrian Grand Prix, A motor racing event that started out in 1964, First held at the Zeltweg Airfield Circuit before heading to the Österreichring, Which is now what we know as the Red Bull Ring in the modern day. Since 1970 the Austrian GP has been held at Spielberg with many classic races and moments since it's debut race, So enjoy the evolution of where the Austrian GP first started to where it stands in 2023. I think it would be a good idea to do this series but change the car to be a famous car from the time period the circuit was in that layout.
I tried that out for the bahrain edition and i felt like doing it the way i originally did with the one car was better, But i don't rule out bringing the bahrain idea back very soon as an extra.

I am aware that you use assetto corsa for these vids, but there is a mod for the F1 challenge 99-02 game called F1 challenge VB, it includes each and every circuit, driver and team from every F1 season, so you can even find the zeltweg airfield circuit

For some reason I think the Austrian circuit is the Satifying circuit
The old Ring had so much more flow. Tilke completely butchered it. I know it was done in order to improve safety, but some turns could have been modified in a better way without destroying the soul of the track.
T3 and T4 are the biggest shames imo.... Such nice flowing corners replaces by these horrible turns. Shame.
It would be fun to drive but so boring to watch. No overtaking opportunities at all, with the only exception of the Hella-Licht Schikane, which was criticized at the time because ok safety, but the old corner was so challenging!
Tilke is the opposite Midas, everything he touches turn into 💩
@@SimoneSaviolono overtaking opportunities? So you’ve never watched an old race here then… This was one of the best overtaking circuits ever, you wouldn’t even need drs in modern f1 here
@@litreocola6447 With 70s F1 cars, probably. Not the same in the 90s , even worse now. Have you seen the lap above? Were would you ever try an attack? The car never needs to brake hard!
Austria is probably one of the most simple tracks but it always brings good races that are also easy to follow due to the ease of the track... in my opinion amazing.
In case of another Styrian Gp it would be interesting trying to use also the layout that includes the chicane...why not?
Tilkes best work imo, absolutely amazing race track. Been my favorite for some time now!
Since 2022, Red Bull Ring has 2 configuration by adding a new chicane for Motorcycle Track at long straight before turn 2 after horrible crash of Franco Morbidelli in 2020.
Also the national layout which cuts straight to Würth after Niki Lauda.

I would but i feel like in this day in age people like to see me fully send it in the latest F1 cars. In years to come or so I might continue the evolution series but bring older cars into it so you might still see them yet 🙌

Assetto Corsa does not have it yet. its inconsequential for f1 anyway.

Marc Marquez never won in Red Bull Ring. Andrea Dovizioso Dominate it last 2016 - 2020.
