    Randolf Ross is not done. Yes it’s hard going through an NCAA season and then holding the peak in the trials and then the Olympics. He has risen so much over the last 3 years I don’t think he is at his maximum yet.

      @@BlueHopi144 Relay or individual 400 m? Individual honestly no one can touch except possibly Norman.(from us) There's a massive difference between a 43.8 and a 43.03.

    • @alansamuel2454
      @alansamuel2454 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@BlueHopi144 Relay is a genuine possibility though. If the conditions are right, athletes have reasonable schedules and the best team forms we would at least see a ridiculous time come up. Get together Norman, Kerley, Randolph Ross and Montgomery/Stewart/Strother/Cherry to run and we would see.
      Do you remember The USC team in 2018 that had only Norman under 44 and three other dudes all over the place from high 44's all the way to a 47 ended up doing a 2:59?
      Then considering current three sub 44's + Norman's raw 100 m speed (hmm even Kerley's) and another athlete in the low 44's there is a real chance to break the elusive relay record. But everyone should deliver their absolute best, conditions should be favorable at least AND there should be the best exchanges possible keeping in mind the undeniable superiority of MJ, Butch Reynolds and Quincy Watts in terms of raw 400 m times.

He sees no need to post insane times if he can win a race. And hence his times haven't been too great yet. He's holding out for when it really matters I guess.

    I think the extra time off from season competitions has helped a lot of athletes. I think we gotta rethink how we look at maximizing the potential of athletes over time rather than sticking to a 12 month cycle

    I mean with Fred Kerley focusing on the 100m and 200m I think he will likely make the team. Whether he medals, I think that depends on how good of shape Steven Gardiner of the Bahamas and WVN of South Africa are at the moment.

    I like how tjey pit the fastest leg on 2nd. Its the longest run. You want your fastest guy in the longest leg. The "inspiration" of last leg shows weakness. Run your race, there is no one else but the clock. If you need to be inspired, write a book.
