Hi John, thanks for the video and the advice, great shots on that Res. I am new to the hobby and can you give me a bit of advice please. I shoot sea and landscapes, long distance ships etc. I use the Nikon 7100 with a Sigma 150-600 mm contemporary. Could you advise the type of settings you would use for this combination for long range shots? Thanks in advance. Tommy.

Hi Tom and thanks for watching/commenting. it really does depend on the your idea of the completed image you want. For example, if you are shooting seascape and want to blur the water , you need to slow down your shutter to achieve the smooth water effect. Or if shooting landscapes, then depth of field maybe your priority, in which case shoot above f11 to f18/20 to gain as much of the image in focus as possible. i personally shoot full manual, to give me as much control as needed. The D7100 is great in low light, and can control image noise superbly, but i always look at keeping my ISO at base 100 or 200 1st. 1 more tip would be to use the live view to zoom in on your image and then hit/lock focus, then zoom back out. That way you always nail the focus. Hope these help. Take care, john.
