I'm so glad that IP games are starting to get good and not just the cash grabs they used to be! For me, I'm not interested in this game, but I'm glad it is out there for others to enjoy :)
This looks amazing. Elegant and tense. I'm not the biggest ST fan, but I absolutely love how this game balances push-your-luck with hand management and risk mitigation. The co-op aspect of failing to (potentially) make your allies more likely to succeed is so clean. I'm sold.
I have played this twice. It's fantastic. I am a huge board game addict and this is definitely a game that can appeal to fully fledged gamers as well as newcomers. The difficulty seems just about right. Lost the first game miserably and won the second game on the very last turn by the skin of our teeth with some kind card draws. Also scales nicely.
Just lost my first game before even cycling through the action deck once, that fear went up real quick lol.
Have one question can calm down be used every turn when you have that item card?
No intro in the beginning threw me for a loop 😅. Looking forward to trying this game!

Really Enjoyed my plays of Season 1 ----- Picked this up this last week and my friend and I played 3 straight games (season 1) --- actually a fun experience --- I feel that it seems a bit easier to win than I prefer (we won 2 and lost the third by 1 turn --- I went to the X on fear before my friend could complete the final Rescue Will spot) --- Looking forward to playing Season 2 next time to see if the difficulty increases --- Thanks for the Review!!! May have to explore the BGG forums for some House Rules people have come up with for increasing difficulty... Still, a Very Fun Game!!!!
I agree with the difficulty setting not being adjustable being a bit meh. I think maybe an easy way to increase it if required would be to simply say the "end of the day" scene card still results in the scene deck being reshuffled, but you still have to draw your original number of scene cards.

I am so glad to see this got a seal of excellence. While I'm a fan of the show and the game itself looks great I was really hoping it would be more than that and be a good game and it sounds like it is. I will most likely be adding this to the collection and 🤞 they make seasons 3 and 4 and eventually 5.

Wild guess, the no initial intro on this particular video is because it’s Stranger Things and likely have a much wider audience than the typical DT viewers? If so, pretty smart I think
I was always thinking, if someday there would be any stranger things game, it would be in Sleeping gods or 7th continent style (a streamlined mix of D&D storytelling and battle). but this one is more like a hybrid pandemic/dead of winter which in unexpected. But more unexpected is the seal of excellence.

I'm going to wait until Season 4. There's 87 characters and the only one that dies is the one you know will die in Episode 1! Also, hopefully, the art will be less hideous.
I actually want the game to be harder. We've only had one game so far with Season 1, but it was a bit of a breeze. Maybe we just lucked into the right strategy.
Still a good game, especially if you like the theme, but yes it should have some official rules to both increase and decrease the difficulty.
We have Horrified and never gets to the table with 2 players! Would u say we should try the Stranger Things game instead?
Doggone the gameplay looks so dull to me, hmm to each their own. I hope ya'll enjoy it.

Difficulty wise, you could play as 11 to make it easier.
It's a great game, and for me replaces Eldritch Horror.

I still can't believe for a stranger things board game. They got you playing numbers on cards against a stack of random tokens. Soulless and themeless.
Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game is basically matching colors and numbers to random card draws, and that game is the absolute furthest from "soulless and themeless." It's not always about big miniatures.
Yea, Idk about those scores. I literally had the chance to buy this game at a convention this weekend and I didn't because it looked so boring. Plus I watched Rodney Smith's how to play, and I legit didn't finish the video because the gameplay looked so boring. But maybe It's actually great once you play it?
I'll try this before I come down too hard on it.
I however always envisioned a season 1 of ST would be some sort of coop hidden movement game and the Will player has limited communication to the rest.
@@nerdyjawsh That's funny, I couldn't finish the Watch it Played video either. I did end up buying it for my wife's birthday. Haven't played it yet, but I think she will like it.

I thought Joey was reaching when he said 8.0 but then Milla and Zee both dropped 9.0's?! Really? Is it really THAT good. Most of my favorite games I have ranked as 8.5's and maybe a 9.0. I don't think I've played any games worth being a 10 yet.
