D/D/D will always be one of the most fascinating and fun to play archetypes
Hilariously enough I do play them. I love the way you can just adapt to the situations. Woulda been worse though if Reiji ever played the contract field spell. Then even his own anime would be screwed.
I find the first two turns a pretty funny reflection of power creep, even just within the span of Zexal and Arc V. Yuma’s first turn, he XYZ summons GaGaGa Cowboy and inflicts 800 damage. He simply passes there. Then Reiji flexes on him by fusion summoning, synchro summoning, and xyz summoning all on his first turn and nearly pulling an OTK on Yuma. If he didn’t have GaGaGa guardian, or if Reiji just had one more monster on his field, that would’ve been it. 😅
Edit: Also, I love the ending because it totally represents Yu-Gi-Oh. Yuma starts popping off on his ultimate combo, but ultimately loses because he didn’t read Reiji’s card. The weakness of any Yu-Gi-Oh player. 😂

Dude Kite vs Shun probably would've been one of if not the best duel ever if it happened because I feel like Kite would actually have to try and wouldn't be able to just stomp Shun like he did with other duelists and Shun is just a complete badass that's hellbent on getting revenge (at least in the dub) and someone who just breaks out his XYZ monsters faster than Kaiba getting out his blue eyes like it's insane
Reiji shows the protagonists that rivals can make them bite the dust.
And rewind the time to create an infinite loop
They wouldn't be considered a worthy rival if they couldn't make you eat your own cards.
Not surprised reji had way more things in his disposal like synchro and a endless amount of fusion options

@@jocoolshow yeah, that doesn't matter in a duel. Yuya knew fusion, xyz, and pendulum and still lost to Jack. Yuma by the end of Zexal was not only a master of both Xyz and Number Xyz but he also has 3 of the strongest cards in all of Yu-Gi-Oh as Utopia Beyond can make all cards Yuma controls unaffected by opponents card effects, with the addition that it a number and therefore cannot be destroyed by battle. He has mutiple cards to give attack and reducez damage to 0. He also has many negate battle cards and negate effect cards. Yuma overall has the better deck, especially considering he has ZWs for every occasion. Not to mention Yuma literally has powers where he can create cards, draw the card he wants, manipulate reality, and to change or evolve his cards. Yuma can also combine with his monster like Z-ARC but that's irrelevant. In addition, he can legit evolve his Utopia just from having hope. Reiji Akaba is great but he would not surpass end of Zexal Yuma. Yuma is either on par or somewhat better than Atem by the end of Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal, anime or manga

because that's D/D/D's theme, business demons. In order to gain the benefits, you must give something back in return. Since this is a demonic themed deck, it would make sense that the thing you are paying for is your life, like money.

One of the things I like about Yuma is his "stupidity", and that he is the only protag to never defeat his rival. Not saying he's worse than any of the other protag, everyone had their own strengths.
Most the anime isn't Canon to the Manga. And the manga he actually does beat Kaito. The only episodes in the anime that's Canon is the first duel between Yuma and shark, the first duel between Yuma and Kaito, and the outcome of the duel between Yuma and astral with Yuma winning
What about Jaden and Zane?
@@arde5849 the outcome is the same except I don't think they have a rematch in the Manga. Also Chazz beats Jaden in the rematch in the Manga during the tournament for the right to face Zane
If Yuma dueled Kaito in season 2 after a certain point, he probably would've stomped him. By the end of Zexal there's different tiers. There's like, Don Thousand, Shark/Nasch, Zexal, and then Yuma and Astral as individuals. And then the tier under is like Vector, Eliphas, Number 96. Quattro/IV, Kaito and the other Barian Emperors that aren't Vector and Shark would either be in the lower end of this tier or the tier below

Btw. Why didn't you detach King ceaser's unit at the beginning when his 3 dimensional monsters were destroyed in order to re-summon them again in order to upgrade their versions? The combo would have been more expended for reiji?
If Reiji would have done that, he would be forced to pay 1000 LP for each monster that he brings back during his SP, that's 3000 LP and he just had 1900 LP left

Heart of the cards means that Yugi never bricks, draws exactly what he needs at any given time and wins all duels as long as he believes in his deck.
DSOD showed you just how powerful the heart of the cards is.
Kaiba got a trial run and he managed to summon obelisk from not only outside his deck but reality itself as the card should have no longer existed.
Even if he does brick just graceful for five and pot of greed for 2 more, lol

Yuma is doing really great job dueling against someone who master 2 more summoning method than him. Not to mention that ddd deck is pretty formidable and versatile, its extremely hard to overcome it.

I think I can just point out a bit of a misplay by Reiji here and it was when he used Darkness Hell Armageddon's ability to destroy Utopia, technically he can't destroy Utopia because it's a Number, and just like a few turns ago, Numbers can only be destroyed by other Numbers, unless you negate It's Number Rule effect. All the Number monsters have this "built-in" hidden ability, because they're different from other Xyz monsters, So Yuma and Astral should have had Utopia on the field.
Numbers can only be destroyed in battle by other Numbers, so effects can destroy them.

Zexal, in Arc-V the portal is a bit odd to me. But I really hope that in the Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz dimension ex deck animation was kept, because since the ones in Standard is "not the real deal" and the ones in the others were the "real" ones.

Cool duel just I realized that Yuma only used utopia, utopia ray, utopia beyond, and gagaga cowboy. If he brought out ray v or other utopia monsters reiji would be long dead but ig it wouldn’t be as interesting.

@@colonelcider8292 he had Leo utopia ray and that thing’s cracked if it was this close without his more cracked xyzs, then no doubt he would win since as far as I could tell this duel pulled out a bunch of reiji’s strongest cards.
@@KiteKenny11 fair enough although Ray and victory Ray aren't so powerful that reiji would have been taken out that easily.
Just saying reiji also has a lot of cards that were not used in this duel and I'd argue that most of them are better than the utopia cards you've listed.
For example D/D/D Super Death Great King Whitest Hell Armageddon is a card that wasn't used and it beats basically the whole of yuma's deck.
I don't know if it's second effect could trigger on the special summon of utopia victory Ray but if it does then Ray can't out it either.
But I guess the fact that number monsters can only be destroyed by number monsters does give the utopias an additional effect which which could turn the tide (although I doubt it).
Personally I think reiji is a stronger duelist than Yuma, has a better deck overall and has more consistent and viable win conditions
Out of all of the protagonists Yuma is by far the weakest (although this may be bias), Judai is probably second weakest but that's just cause his deck sucks.

Wow they are just terrible, it's amazing Judai won anything. That deck was just asking to brick but then again pot of greed was basically the animes version of a complete comeback victory.

I mean, you have to realise that Reiji was not dueling with everything he had in this duel, and Yuma was. Yuma used his ZeXal shining draw several times during the duel and lost. Reiji has his upgraded Ceasar, Alexander and Ghengis combo to negate any rank-up magics, as they special summon, he has contract with eternal darkness, meaning Yuma can't use monsters to xyz summon in the first place, not to mention the hell armageddon trio he can easily get out.
Yuma wouldn't be able to get any utopias out to face him. Astral using the other numbers might last longer but he would ultimately still lose.
