Ahah thank you so much! Really have been a blood, sweat and tears job but loved it in the end!! Nighttime trips have to include pushing one of the bed sections in.. only way!
As a person with basic DIY skills, this video has given me inspiration, thank you for capturing / editing and posting the videos detailing the process of changing a work van to adventure van. I look forward to the adventure videos.
You are very welcome Mike! Trust me I don't consider myself very DIY, but a bit of an overthinker and math brain, all learnt as I went along... as you'll probably tell 😅 if I can inspire others then my job is done!
I found this video as I'm thinking of buying a caddy to convert in the near future (currently have a self converted ford fiesta) I think this is the best and most functional one that ive ever seen! You've both done an amazing job! Well done!
so glad I found this as I'm hoping to do mine over the next few months. This is probably the best caddy maxi conversion I've come across on TH-cam. Gonna go thru the whole build series now.. great vid and thanks for showing us..
Hi Eddie, honestly we live for these comments!! We make these vids to not only remember our journey but to hopefully inspire others too!! If you follow our Instagram I can answer any questions you might have in the future 😊
I hope we are a good example to follow 🤣, any tips defo see our 12 build videos, might be of help too.. defo reach out either on SM or our website when your done! Would love to see what you create!
Just subscribed, what a great couple. If I ever get our latest build completed, we plan to build a Caddy next. I will have a look through the process you guys have followed and apologise right now for any ideas I may adopt. Thanks for sharing and happy travels. Mal, Ruth and Raffy.
Fantastic build, great use of space! Very interested in the mobile internet. Also interested to know your idle consumption from the battery, as I have a similar electrical set up.
Ah thanks mate!! 200AH at full, winter consumption I reckon we could be off grid not moving for 6 days before needing to move again, usually use about 15% per day!
Amazing work. You've thought through your use of space so well and you've got a great quality build. Fab-u-lous! I've got a Citroen Berlingo and have been thinking about a pop top. I couldn't catch the name of the one you've installed. Could you let me have a link please. Enjoy your adventures. Let the fun begin!
Van looks great hope the videos are not going to stop now the van is finished, hope to share your adventures with you .ps I did wonder where you had gone lol
I can confidently say we never had a single incident in Pleebo! People tend to not worry about Micro campers. I guess if you were confident with your park up you could pop it open and if you were slightly worried you could leave it as it is (option to wrap it in the colour of your van?) plus the extra headroom it gives you even when it’s fully down is a huge plus!
@thebastenjourney ok nice one, I'm thinking about building my own camper soon, just waiting for my car to sell 😆 Thanks for making the tutorial videos I'll watch them when I get to that stage :)
Ahh so exciting dude! I hope it all works out well for you, it’s a real reward when you get to the end.. it will have its hard moments but it’s so worth it!! Glad if we help you along the way, or learn what not to do 😂
Hi guys, really love your conversion! Am thinking of doing one myself and have been watching your videos as inspiration. Sorry if too personal a question but how do you find it with 2 adults sleeping in the back? Is there enough room/is it comfortable? xx
Hiya! We're glad your loving the videos! No too personal at all, we'd say you have to be a close couple to work in this situation, especially we did it full time for 3-4 months at a time, as a weekender you'd definitely be fine. Isn't as cramped as you'd think compared to other caddy conversions
Ah that is a great question, the pull out bed is in 2 sections so you are able to go to the toilet in the night, although we do find with 2 people to be a bit of hassle so there are other options if need be 😅
Amazing job looks amazing. How are you finding living in it day-to-day? I want to do it but I don’t know if I can give up work to do it. How much is it costing you to be full-time campers?
Thank you! She really is a great little camper, it really is a whole lifestyle change so I’d recommend trying to find similar sizes or models of what you’d buy and rent that for a week or so just to see how you feel, work is usually the trickiest thing, see what remote jobs you might be able to do and go from there!
Thankfully being young we just have to hold it!! 😅 if worst comes to worst just pushing the duvet to the end of the bed and sliding one part of the bed in to use the loo isn't too annoying 😁
Your campervan build is amazing! 👏 I'm considering a micro camper in the same van and wondering about head clearance while sitting upright without a pop top. Some say it's an issue. Have you experienced that? Your project is inspiring, and I'm eager to start my own. Thanks for the great content!
Cheers!! We really have tried our best to make the most of the space, hope to see people recreate this for themselves! Exciting to hear about your new venture, the head room is definitely an issue if your above 5ft9, I'm over 6ft so we got the poptop but don't get the roof bed that'll give you about 15cm extra headroom even when it's closed... made a WORLD of difference!
Is there such a thing as a removeable bed in the pop top? Add it in only when need for kids or grandkids or friends but most of the time leave it out to gain extra 15cm of height?
Yes we do exactly this, we take the wooden board supplied by the installer out, means you don’t get the gas hinges so it has to stay down the whole time you drive / camp with it but when you want to get rid of it just take it out again!
Did the math the other day but stopped counting at some point in the build 😅 this was a more high end conversion so so including tradesman and all kit it probably cost just over 10k to do, definitely can cut corners and get cheaper but we are a little more mariculture 😂
@@thebastenjourney ya I was thinking are the 10k myself I think it's the way things are going with the inflation, I sold my VW transporter 2,5l TDI was just too thirsty on diesel
8:03 in this video, it’s not super clear but its sat powered up in the hanging bag in the “garage” section, underneath this is where the gas bottle sits so would be the best area to detect carbon monoxide 😀
I could just about manage to live in that alone, being a 5'5" slim female, but would go insane with even a cat let alone another person, it's just too small for two. You barely have room to sit down yourself, lol.
Honestly you have to be VERY comfortable with who you choose to live with 😅, we both make it work but most people might not! It's not too small for us, but defo amazing for 1 person!
It’s beautiful but the only thing that I don’t like is the bed. There’s really no space for a person to move around. I can’t imagine being very comfortable sleeping so straight all night.
I completely understand, its not for everyone! It's perfect for one person but we definitely make it work for 2, we are close sleepers so 6months in it and we have had no issues 😁
A truly excellent conversion, well done. Where do you pee at night? No room, not even for a pot. Subscribed.
Ahah thank you so much! Really have been a blood, sweat and tears job but loved it in the end!! Nighttime trips have to include pushing one of the bed sections in.. only way!
Enjoyed that. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!!
this is definitely one of the best micro campers i have seen ,amazing
Ah thank you!!! We really do love Pleebo!! X

My wife was so pleased to see the personalized cushion you brought from us on your video. You now have a couple of new subscribers
Ah thank you!! We are planning on doing a "things we couldn't live without" video where we are gunna highlight them especially!! 😁

Hehehe 😁
Incredible it looks amazing can't believe how much you've got in there ❤❤❤

New subscriber. Beautiful build out. I'm definitely going to incorporate some of your ideas into my new van build. Awesome and inspiring ❤
Ahhh thank you for being here!! We are glad we could help inspire! 🤩
Fantastic campervan, Bradley and Jordan! I am really pleased for you both 🙂I hope you get some great photographs on your travels!!
Thanks so much! 😊 we have got loads of great stuff already!!
Great video guys 💖 absolutely love the van, it's been amazing watching Pleebo being made and I look forward to following all your adventures 🥰 x

@@thebastenjourney wonderful new I look forward to seeing them and have loved the van built and it looks amazing well done both
Thank you! We really appreciate it 😊
I need that van or some one who's can build the pop top for me in south africa please ❤❤❤❤
Ahhh wish we could! Not sure if westdubs send internationally but could always be worth an ask? ☺️
Хорошая машина
Very inspiring! What company did you use to put in your poptop? Would love to buy a microvan and do the same :)
Thank you Georgina!! 😍 we went on the West Dubbs Poptop website and found their closest verified installer! Defo send us your results 😃 best of luck x
@@thebastenjourney awesome thanks so much!!
this is so awesome! How did you install the poptop???
It really is!! It’s by a company called westdubs, they have verified installers around the country!
I'm thinking about doing Van life in ford Transit connect , ok it's on the smaller side but it really all I need thank you!
Anything that will get you on the road will be perfect! But yeah a poptop makes ALL the difference!
Great build! Is this the caddy maxi? (long wheel base)
Yeah long wheel base! Making the most of the room!
Hi Mate,
I often think that with a poptop you lose the 'stealth' aspect that a small van like a caddy provides, have you never had issues with people?
I can confidently say we never had a single incident in Pleebo! People tend to not worry about Micro campers. Didn't quite catch which make the fridge was. There's no link either. Could you let us know? Thanks.
Yes no worries it’s the JKF50 12v Compressor Fridge :)
@@thebastenjourney thank you. much appreciated.

Yeah, wood prices especially have gone through the roof!! Crazy but it’s spent, so we now have a beautiful camper!
Awesome! Is this a caddy maxi? How much did it cost? What was the mileage? 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you!! Yes it’s a Caddy Maxi, the vehicle itself was 14, a bit on the pricier end but it’s the 2L auto DSG and we got it at 68k miles
Need a carbon monoxide alarm!!
8:03 in this video, it’s not super clear but its sat powered up in the hanging bag in the “garage” section, underneath this is where the gas bottle sits so would be the best area to detect carbon monoxide 😀
What is the wifi you have ?
We have the motorhome wifi 5g now pro, something like that! Then have a ee sim inside with unlimited data!
