Eaglesfan41 Again, he played against a much better team who were both the best offensive and defensive team. His decision making was better as he took shots that had been working and when they didn't he would play a different style. They both fought a losing battle but Westbrook reverted to the old Westbrook. The game his team one he allowed his team to get going offensively and only took one 3 pointer. He was aware of the mismatches and capitalized, amazing. But in the fourth he played to erratic (for himself) and static (for the team) that couldn't allow him or the others to get going. The whole +/- is substantial but the rockets would put their offensive players on the floor while OKC didn't have defensive players on (kanter should have played while Westbrook was on). Again, not hating, only criticizing.

What nobody is realizing about russ is one thing. The way he plays and the numbers he puts up now on a pretty consistent basis is like a remix of kobe bryant and lebron james. And what i mean by that, the ability to physically and mentally to outplay his own position, to the point where he must know what play to make when that occurs it comes from the lebron side of him. But that ability to take over a game...That desire to win so bad that sometimes his over competitiveness and the unbelivable belief in himself, that's the side he gets with the kobe side. He's truly a once in a generational player and he may not have the full accolades to put him there just yet but once this man finally gets a true fully all around team that is a mix of both skill, leadership, and talent. 2) Average 30ppg
3) Take less than 15 shots per game because he's a "point guard"
4) Take less than 4 shots in the 4th quarter
5) Lead his team to a top 2 record in the NBA
6) Shoot above 50% from the field and +40% from three
7) Play 48 minutes per game because "I thought he never gets tired"
8) Not "steal rebounds" although it sparks the teams fast-break and easy
transition buckets (how do you steal offensive rebounds - he averages
more than Lebron)
9) Stop letting the other team let him pad his stats (because they're just trying to help him get triple doubles too apparently)

Good Season Westbrook. Don't be satisfied with being the best player. Get yourself a ring or two.
I'm going to be honest. Even as a Warriors fan, it hurt me to watch Westbrook's erratic play in 4th quarters. Lots of respect for this dude, went down gunning every game. They had chances every game except Game 1, and it was all because of him. The only criticism I have for him is he needs to stop shooting so many 3s. Westbrook shot 48 threes (12 per game) in the 4 losses. He made 13 of 48 (27%). Tonight, he went 5 for 18. In the one win, he only shot 1. He's gotta get better shots than desperation threes, especially in 4th quarters, regardless of the amount of help he is getting.
But seriously, outside of the erratic three point chucking, he just doesn't have enough help. The recurring pattern in the last 3 losses was his team starting to find a rhythm with Westbrook on the floor late in the third quarter. As soon as he goes out, his team instantly loses by 10+ points. Tonight they were a -10 about 3 minutes into the 4th. People want to criticize him for his poor shooting in the 4th. Problem is, he is all they have. Tonight, his teammates got some shots up in the 4th quarter, Westbrook passed them the ball, and they were bricking shots. They went around 5 minutes without a FG in the 4th. It's easy for the Rockets to key in on him when he is all they have. On top of that, Westbrook is playing around 40 minutes a game, and by the 4th quarter, he is exhausted, and that might explain some of the 3 point chucking. His team gives away all momentum at the start of the 4th, which hurts them even more.
This series for me screamed Westbrook was the MVP. Harden can sit and his team will go on a 12-0 run. Harden didn't shoot well from the field all series, but this dude literally cannot be touched. Honestly, watching Westbrook play sometimes got me more hyped up than watching the Warriors. This dude was a one-man wrecking crew. It was so sad to see him go out like that. Thanks for the great year, Brodie. Westbrook is my MVP. #Respek

FGA? I want to see the FG% and FGM/A on those stats too. I'm more worried they'll bring help for Russell, but the wrong help. What Russel needs is defensive players that'll stop the bleeding so they can pull ahead, not more people who demand the ball on offense. The way you're pulling out stats makes it seem like getting people with more opportunities to put up good offensive stats, then giving them less opportunity, is going to make a good team. I don't mind seeing a team build around 1 player to run their offense, but that has to work like it did for Harden, with guys that upgrade Harden's game, not bring in their own separate games.

I don't care what anyone says, Russ balled tf out this series. He basically did what Lebron did vs Golden State in 2015, but while Lebron gets praised for his performance, Russ gets shit on for averaging 37-11-11. Keep in mind that's 37 ppg even though he only scored 22 in Game 1 (his worst game of the series). I understand the errant shots in the 4th, but I'm not sure if Pre-Indiana Oladipo and fucking Alex Abrines were gonna do anything in the closing minutes of a playoff game. I watched every game of this series and I have never seen one team so reliant on one star other than Lebron in 2018.
