    My God. Short, simple and to the point. You're better than Khan academy in my opinion.

    Very clear explanation. The very beginning was super helpful with the hint that I was missing the d=rt. Moment I heard that I solved it then. Thank you.

    Thanks for this, something that worked for me was to model the situation as c^2 = (150 - a)^2 + b^2. This way, you don't have to worry about negating the 35 [km/h]. I'm not sure if this is more or less complicated though :-)

    At 10am a ship A is at a distance of 40 km to the east from a ship B. Ship A moves at 12km per hour towards west and ship B moves at 16 kmph towards South.when will be the distance between them be minimum and what will be the value of this minimum distance?
    Request to provide detailed solution

    I still don't understand why the da/dt equals negative 35. Can you explain it clearly for me?

    • @chillgamer3171
      @chillgamer3171 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      becuase it's technically a negative number, as it's moving east its going negative

    • @willdinan9819
      @willdinan9819 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chillgamer3171 im confused by this too. Wouldn't it be positive as it is going east and negative as it is going west since it is going to the left?

    how did you get the 10 sqrt(101)?

    • @guggystyle
      @guggystyle  8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      c^2 = 10^2 + 100^2 = 100 + 10000 = 10100. Now take the square root of both sides so that c = sqrt (10100). Break the sqrt (10100) into sqrt (100) * sqrt (101), which simplifies to 10sqrt(101). Does that help?
