Hancock hasn't been a ghoul for long compared to most others. He took a radiation chem that turned him into a ghoul around the time he began to take the fight to Vic, the old Goodneighbor mayor.
I like both of these characters as companions. Hancock more so, but I like Preston more than other people do. His VA is just a piece of wood. Also, I like how you switched between Goodneighbor and The Castle. You should do that for the other characters if you do a Winner's Round - kinda like if it's their "home court."

There seems to be a number of Companions who will never use melee special moves. This is why Hancock is badass. Watched him own a Synth Courser in hand to hand combat.
It's funny because in my first game I romanced both of them, meeting Hancock way later in the playthrough and deciding I liked him better, but never bothering to break up with Garvey. This is what I imagine would happen if they found out.
