Your barn is amazing! This has been my dream barn since I was 4, and still is my dream barn! You take such good care of them and really inspire me to strive further towards my goals, I have no clue how long it must have taken to get a barn like this! I hope I can continue on working on my goals and dream barn! Thank you for such a good example and inspiration of what hard work can accomplish!

Yes,indeed, the barn is clean and beautiful.And i dream of working with animals.And happy people who take care of them.There are a lot of horses in my country and when you see them walking in the mountains, and you will understand that soon they will be sent for meat and they will be eaten, your heart shrinks.Well, how can you eat them?

I lived and worked on a ranch for while and this brought a tear to my eye just thinking about those horses, and I'm a 30 year old man! Best 2 years of my life looking back now and I'm working in aerospace...I'd give anything to go back.

Your barn is beautiful! Me and two of my friends plan on owning a barn together when we are a bit older. Did you build this barn or did you buy it from someone? If your not comfortable answer this it’s perfectly ok, but around how much did it cost? I’ve just been taking notes and getting an idea of prices and stuff for the future. I’ll be moved out before I know it!
I only manage it! I didn’t build or own it so I’m not sure of the cost!

Thank you! I grew up with horses and have been working full time in the industry for about six years and part time before that! We have between 15-20 horses at any given time on the farm I work at currently

I just manage it! I didn’t build it nor do I own it sadly. I hope to do that some day, but currently not enough budget to start my own so I manage this one!

Great question, some horses are use to living outside and get stressed in a stall, but they have sheds in their paddock!

How did you become a barn manager? What are the qualifications? I owned a rescue horse and have experience on the ground. (Ground work/horsemanship and handling). Since I lost my horse last year I’ve been wanting a job in a barn because I’ve felt lost the last year not being around them.
Great question. I didn’t get a college degree for this, I have a degree in business, however, some colleges offer equestrian management ! Qualifications kind of depend on the size of the operation. I learned by working at barns and slowly working my way up.

I have not been riding horses for a long time but it is my passion to own a farm someday do you have any videos or books you recommend for horse care? For example how do you tell what type of food or grain a horse needs, if they should stay in a stall or a paddock overnight etc.
Great question! I kind of learned along the way interning and being a working student and always asking the vet questions!

Dumb question but what's the purpose of feeding the horses both grain and hay simultaneously? Or do different horses have different diets?
Horses are forage diet animals, but sometimes in the areas we live or the amount of work they are in we add grain in to support where a simple forage diet could be lacking - i.e. during winter when there is lack of grass where we live or if they need extra fat in their diet or support in their old age

Here struggling to lift the bales
Me over here thinking about the fucking 5 bales a day i throw down from my loft, about 10-15 feet high up and we are getting low on hay so about a 12 foot walk to the loft opening.
I feel rude now, I'm sorry, I'm cranky and watching this vid at 2 AM 😗✌
