Niantic: not everyone plays the entire 6 hours so we will reduce it to 3 hours.
Also Niantic: here's an 8 hour event, followed by another 8 hour event the next day.
9 months late but com day is literally featuring 1 pokemon. Go fest is 40+ pokemon and all the them are spread out between two 1 hr habitats.

Nah there are shinys I couldn't even attend the event and I got shinys alot of them and got shiny Groudon and shiny stellix and a hundo kyorge with over 3000cp not shiny tho
Where and how did you play? Rates were down for sure but if you play in a park/downtown area and move around I just can’t figure how getting 0 is possible. Sucks it happened but if you watch how the YTers play they’re moving and checking not just sitting and catching everything. I personally feel some of the low shiny numbers are partial due to style of play vs RNG
@@brunkad i play in a downtown park with over 50 stops and multiple gyms. Got zero shinies the first day and only 5 on day 2. None of which were even new shinies. I saw one shiny on day one, a pilachu, but my gf had it run away while i was driving. One ball and it ran. I kept moving the whole time minus some resting for raids and eating. So i dont really think style of play is the issue. I think its some accts got a ton where others just got screwed.
@@brunkad Im from NY and I didn't even go to Seattle I bought a ticket and got 8 shinys the first day and only 3 on the 2nd and 2 shinys from pokemon that where in the wild when the event stopped at 6 and got 3 shiny raid bosses which is Groudon and also stellix which was almost a heart attack moment and I got a 3000cp hundo kyorge and druddigon and Snorlax shiny too sorry that was the only 3 shiny I got shiny Gyarados 2986cp not from go fest from before also shiny wailord wailmer shiny clearify shiny eggecutor tall one and regular shiny lycanroc shiny Karablast shiny bronzor 2 of them and I got a Togepi out of egg during the event
@@brunkad Played at large park, 25+ stops lured, walked a LOT, played 8 hrs (while eating lunch in the car) - 7 shinies. Went different places second day, played 6 hrs (first day disappointing) - 2 shinies in last 10 mins. Shiny rates NOT good! Everyone talked to also having bad luck. Worst event for me so far.
Took me 4 and a half hours to get my first shiny on the first day. Past go fests were WAY better. Actually felt like I got something for my money.

I only caught 2 shinies in the entire go fest second half of day 2 I gave up on trying to catch em
Took me 10 minutes but i got 6 shinies that day.
So this was my first go fest that I was able to play in and boy am I glad I was. My biggest flex is a 100% IV Unown U and a 3 star Shiny Unown B both caught in the wild.

I barely got anything, but I did get a 3 star shiny magnetite and it’s op in great league.

Only got 1 both years despite playing the whole time and checking literally everything and doing raids
I had a really annoying glitch where my incense spawned nothing in. So frustrating but still a cool event

Tbh this is my worst go fest ever! Shiny rates are trash for me and also for my friends. I usually got more shinies in normal day than this go fest. Literally no comparison with the last go fest....
No hate Brandon seems like a nice and earnest dude but watching his Go event experiences vs like myself and everyone I see in my group it feels like niantic boosted his acct specifically for shinies it’s nuts. Like I did ok but nothing even remotely close to mystic.
Niantic better makes the final event in August AWESOME or I’ll NEVER buy a go fest ticket again. I was so excited, now very disappointed.

My conspiracy theory is that because some time zones can get 4 days of 6 special trades, Niantic is working on a nerf so special trades are confined to event days by local time instead of worldwide. And that would be why NIantic did not give us 6 special trades for this event. And to make up for it they gave 2 per day for the entire season. I'm probably wrong but that's how I think.
I thought it was 6 throughout the event? Like 6 on day 1 and 6 on day 2? I could be wrong though, I didn’t make that many trades haha

I just got one shiny, and it was a numel. I wish I got more, but it was 3 stars so it’s not useless! Can erupt does have a mega that might come to Pokémon go soon, so a 3 sharp shiny mega will be really epic

This was my first Go Fest and it was AWESOME! I enjoyed raiding and catching so much and managed to catch myself a Hundo Groudon and a shiny event Pikachu! Can’t wait for next year’s Go Fest!

This dude just gets mad shines and when I did the event WITH THE TICKET, I only got 4 and it’s ridiculous I don’t know if anyone else had really bad shiny rates as well but it was ridiculous

I love watching your videos - always entertaining. :) But it's hard to see you raking in the shinies when I (and others) had such terrible shiny rates. Glad you (and some people) had a great day of it. :)
I and others saw many incense spawns disappear as soon as they were clicked. Perhaps there is ONE bug where the disappearing spawns were the shinies. That would explain both of the unexpected things we saw with one bug instead of two unrelated bugs.
Over half did that for me. I don’t think that was the issue
I spent 7 hours walking around downtown Toronto, walked over 19 km. only 9 shinies and massive disappointment. 3 of them were luckily caught within the final half an hour.

Absolutely horrendous spawns, awful raids especially during the 2nd day, trash shiny odds and don’t get me started on the awful bug where incense spawns would just disappear... all you bots saying the event was fun are deluding yourselves into thinking you didnt just throw 15-20 dollars down the drain...

Shiny Galarain Weezing was the first shiny pokemon i got, I was super stoked about it. 😁
i mean i did skip about 3 hrs of the event including both days but mystic caught more shinys than i did in the first hour. theres no way shiny rates were boosted and me and my friends only got 1 special trade each day. not the greatest spawns but nonetheless i look forward to the event in august

My first go fest was really fun! I watched your prep video twice and shared it to my family who also played. I caught and traded a total of 13 of the event shinies including larvatar, hitmonchan (one of my favorites) and magnemite and also got a hundo numel and hundo Galarian daramaka! I love your videos the most out of all of your group! Keep it up!

my first go fest was such a diappointment i even went out to city/docks of liverpool UK so i had spawns and catches for days till my fingers were getting sore

No confirmation or anything but a lot of people are complaining from the UK it seems.

Day two was a massive let down, with no boosted odds it was ment to be a raid day, but because of a new UB they had to have it in raids as a promo, and with no shiny the raid day was ruined Because of the new UB
Odds were toTally boosted for day 2. I caught almost as many shines on the second day.
What about the incensed spawns going poof a lot of the time?
Odds were boosted but not as much as day 1. Speculation was 1 in 128 for day 1 and 1 in 256 on day 2.
Regular odds would be 1 in 512. Take it for what it's worth.

Count yourself lucky that the raids kept going after 6pm there. I don't know about the other Asia-Pacific countries but over here in Korea everything just disappeared at 6pm and no raid eggs spawned until about 8pm and we're looking around like "what just happened???"

I got a shiny axew and a hundo axew which I'm happy about! The shiny rates were a lot lower. I think I caught about 20 shinies over the 2 days.
how many axews did u catch? idk how many raids/wild checks i had separate but i in total i got 58 axews didnt get a shiny or even close to a hundo.

I gotta be honest it was massive let down for me. I played in St. Louis zoo and it was packed with stops and I had no luck. I only 7 shinies throughout the entire event for both days. Last year was massively better. Glad you had success though
I was saying that this event was bad, but day 2 redeemed it. I got 7 shinies day 1 and 10 shinies day 2 with a total of 17. GO Fest overall went from bad to awesome.

I had a ton of fun playing with buddies in chicago. Only got one shiny (litleo) in both days though. I was surprised watching you catch so many in your video! Good for you!
My conspiracy theory is that some accounts were inherently picked to have more shiny encounters at launch than others so shiny predestination could be a thing. My buddy and I played all 16 hours and I got 10 shinys, he got over 100. No hacks, spoofing etc. was next to me the entire time. Insane.
Ended up with 57 shinies, and 3 shiny axew. A great weekend!
I only caught six over the whole weekend and it was super disappointing. I did manage to catch a wild shiny Axew, but was expecting more 😣

go fest was so fun for me! me and my friends went out and caught a lot of shinies, one of my friends got shiny groudon and i caught no shinies for ages but before i left i caught a shiny kyogre!

I ended the weekend with 25 shiny Pokémon. The only new one I got was Numel. I went hard on the axew raids with 25 or so with no shiny. I did get a few shiny ones I didn't have so that was exciting. It would have been nice to see more new shiny ones, but I'll just have to hunt them casually or wait for an event that revolves around them.

Great event! I will say the shiny being boosted I’m unsure of. Wife and I grinned all day day 1 catching 900 plus Pokémon and got 1 shiny. Wife with zero. Day 2, so far 4 hours in and zero shiny. We have had a lot of fun so overall we are happy but seeing others with 30-40 plus shinys makes me wonder. But I guess it’s all part of luck.
I agree, me and my girlfriend also went out to catch, I had around 600-700 pokemon caught, but only 1 shiny, my gf also got only 1... If they are boosted, it sure is impossible to notice
dude i played straight both days and got 1 shiny...for the amount it was hyped up istg what a disappointing time considering this was supposed to be the best event of the year. Pick it up Niantic FFS.

My GO Fest went AMAZING!!! My biggest flex was a 98 Shiny Kyogre but I also got some nice shinies like Klink and 2 new ones which were Numel and Shelmet.
My first Pokémon I clicked on the whole event was a shiny Numel and in the last 3 seconds of Day 2 I got a Shiny Seedot!!
In 10 Kyogre raids I got the Hundo and a Shiny 98, by far my most successful legendary!!!

I got a Shiny Yanma yesterday morning before Pokémon go Fest started for me. I got my Pokédex Axew yesterday and my Pokédex Nihilego today, while I was on my break at work.
