When I was a lad I used to wear a thin pair of crew socks under my football socks. Then I bought some CTR360’s and they have to be a contender for tightest boots in the world so I started cutting the foot off my football sock. Anyway, whatever boots I had after that I just carried on doing that and then I realised not all boots were the same. Anyway, recently I thought I’m going to try going back to two pairs of socks again with my tiempos and it’s a revelation. I can’t believe I didn’t go back sooner. It stops blisters just like grip socks are supposed to do and makes absolutely no difference to your touch. The moral to this story really is for me, it depends on the boots as to my sock set up. If you want consistency don’t change your boots every two minutes and train how you play, so for instance when I train I will wear thin crew socks with my football socks over the top. Simple as that. The pros doing this for me has simply become a fashion thing now. Also what you have to remember is that these players have boots specifically made for their feet. Just my opinion anyway.

Cristiano was doing this when he was first at United. A big reason they wear white instead of matching is it looks 👌🏼 (although with non white boots)
Don't some clubs provide players the option of full length socks vs sleeves?
clubs order in both sleeve socks and cut socks, some players actually prefer the feel of a cut sock as it's not got the slightly thicker bit at the bottom of the sleeve socks. only know that as i am friends with the england kit man. as for sleeve socks, every club will offer these and virtually every team in the world has players who will wear regular socks but becoming more and more rare 👍🏼

@@ljiljanadrobectoncinic829 that's a bummer if from your experience they just don't allow it. For my younger brother it's allowed so long as the colors match with the cut out part of the sock.

can you make a video; best boots for custom orthotics? I can not explain the hell I go through to find boots that can accommodate orthotics. Mostly that the insert will raise the heel and you get major slippage! On top of that I try to only wear turfs because I play in Brooklyn. Best boots I've found so far are the Puma Future 5.1 MG's > That MG sole is the absolute best for turf.

I prefer the long knee high soccer socks I have never liked crew socks or ankle socks they just look, sloppy . I like the extra length in the nike soccer socks and the look really good and feel very comfortable

I don't think they stay in place quite as well without the extra length, but yes, you could definitely get away with that.
