Let's not forget the LS2 also has MIPS. It's absolutely the best deal for quality and safety for a motocross helmet right now. The quality and build is astounding. MIPS is an absolute must, saved my head already once wearing a Fox V3. LS2 build quality is a totally different level than the V3.
Great helmet. I took a bad slam and the bike came over and hit me right on top of my head. Cracked the helmet and rung my bell but got up with no injury to my head. Thank you Ls2 for making a quality helmet.
I just bought this helmet. And apparently they have made some improvements. Now, the holes on the inside are much larger. The ones you said had 5 millimeters in diameter, now have oval shape, 3 pairs of larger holes with different sizes, 30 x18 mm, 25 x 15 mm, and 20 x 15 mm. Now we can see large portions of the honey combs from the inside. I think they have seen your video and listen to you...😁😁👍🏼👍🏼
Hi .. I just purchased a large Subverter helmet and fits perfect on the head but cheek pads are little to snug.. Could I possibly buy a set of medium cheek pads for bit of a better fit??
Medium cheek pads are actually thicker, as the outer shell is the same for both helmets, but the cheek pads need to fit a smaller head in size medium (so bigger cheek pads to take up the extra room). Unfortunately, you can only swap large cheek pads with medium, so you cannot get a looser fit. The only option is to step up to the size XL helmet. -DrewZilla
Respected sir, This helmet has a lot of vents which cant be turned off. Hence during rainy season, water will go to the liner EPS. Will that water be harmful for the EPS? Thank You!
EPS is a material that will deteriorate over time with the elements like water and excess sun-exposure, yes. But that is a problem all dirt-style helmets have to contend since dirt-riders are more concerned with ventilation than the occasional rain storm. EPS is much more at risk from excessive sweat and lack of cleaning than it is to rain from time to time for what its worth though. Something to consider, but something all dirt helmets encounter.
@@RevZilla thanks for the reply! I see. I will consider it. While saying sweat, are you referring to sweating due to offroad biking? My requirement is for street riding in India. However, unlike the western world, riding in India is pretty slow. I usually cruise at 30-40kmph. Also, unlike the west, India has pretty bad roads. So I was considering an offroad helmet (especially since rotational forces are given attention). Due to the legal restrictions of helmets in India, finding big brands is difficult. I have shortlisted two options. LS2 Arrow R Evo (2021 import year) and LS2 Subverter. Assuming the only things considered are safety and not venting, which one would you pick (Arrow, Subverter) if you had the same usage as mine mentioned in the above paragraph? Thank You! Yours sincerely, Varad
@@RevZilla Sorry for another question, But if I were to buy the Arrow, then I would be getting it at an discounted price. This is mostly because in India, the Arrow is discontinued. Is there anything I should check. I wont be getting any warrnaty (if I had been LS2 gives only 1 year warranty in India). So I would like to check the helmet thoroughly. What should I check and how? Thank You!
Im guessing the small holes are by design. Quick experiment. Close your lips kinda pucka them up and blow air , it will be cool. Now do the same thing but with your mouth open and u will blow hot air... i wonder if this is their way of think to help get cool air into helmet???
@@RevZilla So I must have large cheek bones or something because I ended up buying a LG and it was super tight on the sides of my mouth. I traded it for a XL and now it's better but still pretty snug.
Yes, and you can swap them within the same shell size but not from one shell to another unfortunately. www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ls2-subverter-helmet-liner www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ls2-subverter-cheek-pads
My current lid is a shoei XL too but my nose is close on to the breather /nose cover. Am I likely to struggle with the LS2? I want a new lid, but Shoei too expensive now... thanks
The LS2 should provide more room for your nose. Keep in mind that you can also trim that piece a bit if you want. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/ls2-subverter-helmets
There isn't really enough flat/clean surface area for the adhesive mount. However, we've seen a ton of people at the track and dual sport rides with some cheap chin mount strap options that work with most GoPros. We don't sell any at the moment but there are plenty out there on the market to grab for a few bucks. I used one during the NE24 hour race last year to hold a chin light without issues. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at 877.792.9455 or cs@revzilla.com. Ride safe, -Pat
Can you remove the black vent parts on the top and on the back? Looking att the neon yellow edition but don't like the white vent's so would like to repaint them to black
The biggest difference is shell construction. More expensive helmets tend to use a fiberglass composite shell construction, while the Subverter uses a more affordable polycarbonate shell. Additionally, while the Subverter has a pretty nice liner, nicer helmets generally have nicer padding as well. The Subverter is a really good value, so if you find it comfortable, then you don't necessarily need to spend $450. -DrewZilla
The LS2 Subverter is based on the same size chart as regular full-face LS2 helmets, but the internal head shape is not quite as narrow as other helmets like the Arrow and Citation. I would still get the same size, but would recommend wearing it in your house for at least 30-60 minutes before taking it out riding to make sure it does not cause uncomfortable pressure on the middle of your forehead. -DM

I'm a noob to helmuts, but not to the successful dissemination of information--excellent presentation, Spurg--very clear and helpful!!!
Just scooped one from my local bike shop for $180. Very lightweight and comfortable.

Ordered and received mine and couldn’t be happier 👌🏻
Honestly have had a lot of helmets and personally this is the best helmet on the market
I fell like bell and ls2 are basically the same but bell is overpriced
do you recommend this for winter use
Had to order this one! 👌🏼 Thanks Revzilla🤘🏼
How do you like it?
I don't even ride motocross, I'm a regular road rider on a kawasaki er6n, but this helmet is so damn comfortable I use it daily 😂
so with the helmet venting so well what about winter ? go up a size to get some winter gear under?
Great video!! Thx how does this stack up against the Alpine-stars M5? Going back in forth lol
Same doubt here
I wear a large in my fox helmet. Would I also wear a large in the LS2 subverter?
Probably yes, though this has a slightly narrower fit compared to Fox helmets. -DrewZilla
Nah I’m a large in normal and wear xl

I have a size 58 head when following there chart, should I go up a size to large or do you recommend XL? Thanks, Dave
58cm is normally a size medium, but you would probably want to size up to size Large. You do not need XL. -DrewZilla

How about painter's tape over the vents, on the outside, when cold? Haven't tried it but blue painter's tape doesn't normally leave a residue.
Why don’t u guys restock the LS2 MX470 Subverter MIPS Solid Helmet
That helmet has been discontinued, and will not be restocked.

What a beast looking helmet.. I'm in nz where can I get one?
You would need to see if there is a distributor of LS2 in NZ. -DrewZilla

No, you cannot remove those back vents. -DrewZilla
The yellow light is a good change to separate the talking head from the background
What is the healmet support donut that came inside the Box a blow-up one
That's just a helmet donut or "service pad," as Icon calls it. Check out the link below. -Kraus-e

any problems with the neck/helmet by going fast like 80-100km/h
No different than any other dirt helmet. You'll get a bit of drag with head checks, but otherwise it's fine. -DrewZilla
Hey,
So since I wear medium in my shoei full face helmet I would need a large in the subverter?
Only if you're at the top end of a medium in Shoei, for example closer to 58cm rather than closer to 57cm. -DrewZilla
I have an M size Shoei ex-zero which fits perfect, and the L size LS2 Subverter fits snug. The LS2 will probably break-in to be perfect.
So what exactly separates this from a $450 lid, besides a few ounces maybe?
The biggest difference is shell construction. More expensive helmets tend to use a fiberglass composite shell construction, while the Subverter uses a more affordable polycarbonate shell. Can we do long rides using this helmet ?
I've done 8hr plus adventure rides in mine without any issues. Wicking is very good

Fun Fact twist. A free LS2 Subverter helmet for the first person that can properly identify every non-moto figurine in the background.
Nobody ever tries them on.
... and yet; we are wearing it in this video that you just commented on.
