This is really cool! I went down this rabbit hole about a year ago. Researching the types of vehicles and the type of camo uniforms. Im kind of a historucal accuracy nut so i made sure i painted the right pea dot schemes. Fun fact- 12th SS had Pumas- so your opponent cant complain when you roll up with a recce medium AT. They also had Italian (Fiat) trucks- so i had to get the resin version and add the divisional symbol on the front wheel guard....
Thanks for the compliment! I have a PUMA in a box all painted up, but I haven't done the weathering and all that on it yet. It would be a good swap out with the PnzrIV to beef up some units or sneak another dice into the list. I might get it done here pretty soon as I have to do a Pnzr T38 and a Sdkfz 231 for my Bulgarians which I'm aiming to get done in the next few weeks. Please check out that video when it drops!
Thank you very much. The schurtzen was a bit of trial and error. First I tried this guitar string set up that was a disaster and then went with the bobby pin.
Thanks for checking the video out. I notice those odd synchronicity projects too! I remember when I was doing my USMC, it seemed like everybody and their brother was doing the same army. Is you army heavy infantry focused or team weapons?
JvC Paints,,, a bit of a mixture really. Trying to squeeze as many bodies in as I can but then also have so many weapon teams and vehicles to choose from that I’d never be able to field it all.
@@CallofOdin580 I know the feeling. I've kind of gone off of Stg.44s for that reason. I'd rather get an extra dice in with some potential to do something than have 10 or so Assault rifles scattered across the table. Then again, I have a gamey tendency to tailor my lists against my usual opponents, so I might go assault rifle heavy.
Thank you very much. The basic build should work really well in a fast game. Would be good as attackers in a defender/attacker scenario. You guys stay healthy there too.
lovely stuff mate, great to see new stuff from you... Yes today i watched some crazy youtube crap. lol. then there was the great stuff too of course- hobby vids from others keeping me motivated just like this great one! Thanks. i also loved those mortar pits you had on the table there..?!Thanks for the update, stay safe. regards, Dan
Thanks for watching, Dan. The mortar pits were from Small Terrain by Andy Bryant. He might still have a presence on ebay, but with the way the world is having a sick day (month(s)?) off I haven't a clue. I've also been watching movies here and there. I had a few recommends and a few avoid at all costs I forgot to mention in the video. Escape from LA is 100% recommend.
To be honest, I think I might have just used a generic selector or one of the older campaign books. I don't have many of the new campaign books. I think the last one I got was Stalingrad...or Korea...I have so many armies too keeping anything straight is a mission in itself.
Thanks! Yeah the Sd.Kfz is a Tamiya one. I can't remember which one. It was probably the Stuka Fus one as I use the rockets for scenery and it's always nice to have the bits around.
So the radio antennae has no rules in this version and is more for optics? I did a quick look and found under the Tank Encyclopaedia that the 231 was in service to the end of the war so could well have been a part of the SS 12th. Hate SS though, the one force that I would happily use a Crocodile on. I am formulating tactics for these guys for maximum casualties. I have a Brit force that I might even name Canadian if I ever have a game. Did you know the Canadians invented the Wasp, Bren Carrier Flamethrower. Can you imagine the fun you could have with the Wasp and Crocodile on the table.
Thanks for checking out the video. The radio has no real rules in Bolt Action. The game is more like a 5-10 minute action scene in a film spread over 6 turns, beers, rule look ups and general tomfoolery between opponents. One thing you can be certain of in playing, the dice gods will either make you or break you. Anything but a 1! lol
@@jvcpaints thanks... 1/48 scale. I don't notice any difference to 1/56. really good.I miss the Radio antenna from the other manufacturers like Warlord or Blitzkrieg. I think it's a good alternative
I still have about a good company's worth of guys on the sprue. I think I've got all in all about 1200 German figures for WW2 painted and at least 30 vehicles. Cheers for watching.
JvC Paints nice i am starting a platoon, just looking for painting guides, assembly styles, army comps. It is very many speculations of 3 or 4 squads in a platoon.

Absolutely stunning army there dude, really very very impressive! Magnetising the schurzen is genius :D

Stunning work on such a small scale. Great to watch
Cheers and thank you!
Spooky timing on this one. Have just pulled my bolt action 12th ss army to work on this wkend. Ps stay safe over the next few weeks.

Thanks very much. You stay healthy and safe there too.
Yes, crazy times. I found myself watching a ton of Sasquatch stuff, lol. Beautiful work on the Hitlerjugend.
Thanks. And thanks for the tip about Sasquatch. I wanted to give the movie tip of Escape from LA in my video but forgot.
Looking great. Top work as always. Looking forward to the next army.
Thanks very much. I hope to have them done soon.
Looking good.
Cheers. I hope your well.
Very nice video James, magnetic sides foot the tank is a good idea, really nice paint work, all the best Garry
Thanks Garry. I hope you're healthy working away on those Assyrians.
Great looking army James. The vehicles are stunning.
Thanks. I'm lucky that I have easy and cheap access to the Tamiya kits. I just wish they'd make the IJA tanks in 1/48 scale.
Great looking platoon/army, with all the extras very flexible. Take care and stay healthy.

Great looking force James! I love your idea for magnetizing the skirts on the Panzer IV, simple but effective. Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks, Dan. The magnets worked out well. I want to add some ambush foilage now. Projects never end. lol
Wonderful army and welcome back james
Thanks. I hope I can get a few more videos out soon. I have a few non WW2 projects that I want to get out there.
Great job. Really nice idea with the magnets. Stay safe
Thanks, Dom. The magnets worked out really well.
beautiful stuff.
Thanks, dude. They were a fun mob to do. Always fun doing the came.
A fine looking collection 👍👍
Thanks very much. They were a fun mob to put together.
Nice waffen army, nicely painted
Cheers. I think this was like my 3rd or 4th SS army. Those Warlord sprue sales get me every time.

great looking army! I wish you lots of wins with this one!
Thanks, Vic.
Great looking army!
Cheers!
Great army.
Thank you! They haven't seen action yet. Hopefully this year.
Nice looking SS force, one would think that a SdKfz 231 would be included in the force for a command section. Take care and drive on
Thank you. I guess they overlooked it when they made the selector. Plus, they had to sell all those Pumas. lol
Cool army, but i thought you couldn't take assault rifles for 12th ss? At least in the campaign book..
To be honest, I think I might have just used a generic selector or one of the older campaign books. I don't have many of the new campaign books. I think the last one I got was Stalingrad...or Korea...I have so many armies too keeping anything straight is a mission in itself.

the SDKFZ?
It's 1/48 scale Tamiya kit.And thanks for watching and the comment too.

Thanks. No, both of the model kits are Tamiya 1/48 scale.
