    If you have good strokes you can generate lots of spin with any poly strings.

    • @Z-Bone-e7j
      @Z-Bone-e7j 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is correct but not all poly's are the same which is what you seem to be implying. Some poly's help generate spin easier and as a result they don't force you to rely solely on technique.

      @@Z-Bone-e7j Yes, that's a fair assessment.

    These strings are great, one of the best overall. They have a wide 'span', from slow and touch shots to total powerplay and a specific 'plop', like ball pocketing, slightly reminiscent of gut/alu hybrid. They don't notch, and even a well used stringbed is not springy at all. I tried 1.25, 1.30 and 1.30 mains with 1.25 crosses, and 1.25 mains with stiffer crosses in RF97A. 1.30 is a bit too thick, although still good, all 1.25 is best, but hybrids are great too. Normally I break strings in 1-3h but these really lasted. Thiem used 1.30 in mains in a hybrid with Hawk 1.25 for a while, until Babolat made RPM Power for him. RPM Power and Lynx Tour are different but comparable, not too stiff, pocketing, good power, but Lynx Tour is better overall and much longer lasting. RPM Power visibly lack spin, notch and break quickly, but are comfy with a good feel.
    Lynx Tour have nothing in common with Head Lynx/Lynx Edge, those are 10 year old polys. Head just gave them all the same 'Lynx' name to confuse everyone it seems..🙄

    Regular Lynx is a great string too, but it's softer than Lynx Tour, and that's why it loses tension quicker.
    Regular lynx has a huge spin potential because of the coating on the strings.

    Hey there Mr. Spin. :-) I'm getting ready to put Lynx Tour in my racquet (Graphene 360 Speed MP). My go to is normally RPM Blast 18 in the mains and Velocity MLT 17 in the crosses strung at 53. I was going to do a full bed of Lynx Tour 17 at 51 instead of 53 to compensate for the lack of the multi in the crosses, and to possibly have it play just a bit softer like my normal hybrid combo. Any thoughts on that? Or do you think I should just stick with the hybrid... Lynx Tour in the mains and Velocity MLT in the crosses?

    • @javace79
      @javace79 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Lynx Tour is not a super soft co-poly, so if you are going after something a little more forgiving on the elbow continue on using velocity in the crosses.

      All the string companies borrow ideas from each other, but all the poly's I have played with do feel a little different in my opinion. I think sythentic gut has been around for so long they all feel the same. Harry has mentioned there are a couple of plants around the world that produce most of the strings from the major brands. But recently there are some startup Poly companies (I think of them as like micro-brews) that have popped up, like TierOne that I use.

    I disagree. Head Lynx Tour is not there best poly string. Too bouncy and IMO considerably less spin compare to head hawk touch or sonic pro. Its not like I like head strings in the first place, but tried it because of all the hype. In comparison its suppose to be a competition towards Hyper G, not even close. I have used round polys that had more bite and added more spin to the ball. Tried it in my Angell K7 Lime at 50lbs. Maybe in the more open string pattern racket the strings might work better, but why bother when there are so many strings out there that are better and more affordable.
