I cry every single time. What a genius songwriter to capture every nuance with just the right word. I could not have expressed my own sentiments any better. Thank you soooo much for posting. No creo que haya mejor historiador de la experiencia nuestra ....Y que viva lo nuestro/! Bendiciones.
I was born in el hoyo & lived on Meyer & Convent. We were pobres & our daddy was also a singer/songwriter & this just brings back memories.❤️ My little brother is one of the folks who fix up the old adobe homes, he’s known as the Adobe Whisperer.♥️
Wow! My dad was actually born in an adobe house on Meyer & Convent. The house is still there. His main childhood home is on Meyer Street and has been restored. I like the term "Adobe Whisperer." Thanks for the comment.
They feature a video clip of this song at the Musical Instrument Museum, which has the largest collection of instruments from all over the world, and a corner honoring Arizona musicians, including Lalo. This song made me cry. The homes in the video looked like my dad's old neighborhood in Nogales, but they must be Tucson.
This event happened a few weeks AFTER we Filmed his last Song "Vamos a Bailar" a "War time period piece" with MAMBO & JITTERBUG at "The Palace" a former Theater near the, world famous, Intersection of Hollywood & Vine.
Nice song it remembers me of my old barrio In Oxnard Ca the old la colonia housing projects that they tore down to make new affordable housing. Miss my old neighborhood
