I really hope you talk about rustages eren Yeager song 'eyes on me', I know it's debated if wren is a villain but it's being sung about him whilst he is committed genocide so it counts in my eyes
Would love to see this series continue. Fun fact: In Raphael's Fina Act, if you hit him with a silence spell or effect, his vocals disappear until he's no longer silenced. Meaning he is actually singing while trying to kill your party
Added detail, you can find notes in the game from the bard who helped Raphael compose the song wherein the bard is complaining about Raphael's obsession with the claw bit.
I appreciate that Josh said almost when he mentioned Wish cause I think a lot of people enjoyed At All Costs and when not watched in context of the movie makes for a good love duet
When he mentioned Wish, for some reason I thought it was gonna be the This Wish rewrite Asha villain song but, now that I think about it, that doesn't make any sense... XD
Fun fact: there's a story that the queen of the night aria was designed to spite the soprano singing it. As it was the composer's sister in law nagging for a song from him. The coloratura was designed to ensure that specific soprano would be incapable of singing it.
The story I'd heard was that the soprano could hit the notes, but she tended to tilt her head up on high notes and down on low notes so the jumps from high to low caused her to subconsciously bob her head like a chicken.
The Stupendium has got a ton of amazing villain songs, so I'll just leave my top five suggestions: 1. Fiend Like Me 2. The Production Line 3. No One's Home 4. What A Fowl Day 5. The End of the Line
@@SublimeSlime-mc3zv What about Ad Infinitum? Also, no hate, but is Production Line really a villain song? It feels more like a victim song as it's sung by the abused employees rather than the big bad boss in charge.
I'm probably that 1% of the population that actually likes Wish, but even I acknowledge that the fandom did more entertaining and creative ideas with the deleted concepts than the actual movie ever did.
I found the movie enjoyable too! Obviously, I saw there was room for improvement in certain areas and some criticism I came across was perfectly valid, but a good time's a good time.
Wish was...okay. Even the finished product has...passable/decent aspects (I actually like King Magnifico's song but I think that's cause of Chris Pine's singing really, and it's a bop). But maaaan...it's like watered down so badly, (from what it could have been), it barely passes for tap water, if that makes any sense. (like take watered down soda you'd get from a fast-food place...make it more watered down. A lot more.)
The only time I heard someone talk about that movie was between some girl and her two friends/siblings. She said she enjoyed it… they weren’t having it.
We are Number 1 is prolific enough for Stefan's character he voiced in For Honor (Berserker), to receive a "WE ARE NUMBER 1!" statue in game after his passing. I will continue to make redditors frothing mad in your honor you legend!
@@jaketucker2559 Nope~! 8th year of content and still going strong! A roster of 35 characters with the latest added 3 weeks ago, 2 more factions since launch, a castle siege game mode, tournaments, regular seasonal events, plenty of improvements including dedicated servers, etc. We are just trucking on while the rest of Ubi's kingdom crumbles.
I’ve said this on the previous Villain Songs Month, but I HIGHLY recommend Let the Pun Fit the Crime from Wander Over Yonder. Let’s begin with the premise: Wander discovers an old enemy from his past has returned, resulting in him taking on a more serious persona a la Batman. Throughout the course of the episode, Wander and Sylvia search and find different clues, and eventually track down the villain, Dr. Screwball Jones… Only to discover he’s an alien banana with a handlebar mustache voiced by Weird Al Yankovic. As for the song, what can be said about Weird Al that hasn’t already been said? It’s full of energy, insanely catchy, has some clever jokes, has a great display of vibrant colors, and climaxes with a clash between Screwball’s accordion and Wander’s banjo. Oh, and did I mention there’s a beam struggle between the two instruments? Because there’s a beam struggle, and it’s awesomely goofy.
Oh, I’m loving this series already (ESPECIALLY the fan-made segment)! I see it as a great chance to show people unfamiliar with TH-cam musicians some amazing musicians that aren’t as covered in mainstream media!😁
Okay, I HAVE to point this out: in regards to Labyrinth, they didn't just "get David Bowie to be Jareth," David Bowie was so integral to the creative process of the movie from the ground up. He helped shape the story of the movie so much that it was as much his idea as it was Jim Henson's. It's kind of like with Encanto, how Lin Manuel Miranda had a MASSIVE part in the story of that movie. Practically identical situation here.
Here are my recommendations: Non Disney movie-We’re bringing back Christmas from Spirited Theater-No one remembers Achmed from Twisted Tv-Killjoy from the Ghost and Molly McGee Video Game-Grulovia from Psychonauts 2 Fan made-Fine Print by Stupendium
Funny enough, I am a huge fan of Labyrinth and it is one of my favorite films of all time! I actually love Within You, Underground, and Dance Magic. I will blast those songs on repeat because they are so catchy.
I suggested this song in your Top 10 Theater Villain Songs video so I'm just gonna copy and paste my comment here: "I just recently found a strong contender for this list: "Nothing" from "The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls". I know absolutely nothing about this musical. I found this song completely by accident in a ROTTMNT animatic. But from what I can tell, it's about an amoral asylum doctor called Dr. Stockill who tortures and kills young women in the asylum, all while feeling "nothing". All except one, the main character, Emily. The song is split between the doctor being perplexed by Emily's willpower in the face of his torture and Emily wondering why he hasn't killed her yet and resolving to stay for the sake of helping the other patients escape. It's a fantastic back-and-forth villain song between the antagonist and protagonist. A sociopathic villain and a pure and selfless hero trying to understand each other." Seriously, this song is AMAZING for absolutely no reason and it's a crime that it's so underrated. More people need to hear it.
Ah, new songs to add to my playlist! Glad to see Milkymelodies and Caleb Hyles since I love their work(though initially thought it was gonna be Lydia the Bard) Currently for villian songs, spoilers for Inanimate Insanity…episode 15 just came out after 4 years of waiting and in it Taco sings with Mepad about her plan to “end the lies” which is a song that hasn’t left my head in days. Taco herself is an interesting villian for a survivor like show since in season 1, she puts on a fake personality to gain attention in hopes of winning which is standard for these shows. But in season 2, she’s not trying to steal the money again. She’s trying to end the game entirely, citing the pain the show causes the others and what it makes them do. And she’s kinda right there? Characters backstab or perform other negative deeds to those they would typically get along with for the chance to get farther. They have to lose people they care about to progress, and it’s shown through people have Baseball and Loghtbulb that does genuinely hurt them(with the former going into a depression for a couple episodes and the latter pushing herself to win or keep people positive because she’s worried she be disappointing her friend otherwise because she doesn’t think she deserved to go farther than them) to do. And after Taco died during her plan(objects can die easily, but the hist Mephone typically can bring them back using an app), Mephone almost doesn’t even revive her because he puts the safety of the game over her life, which shows that even though she’s going about this all the wrong way, shes a little validated in her reasonings
If I may offer a suggestion for the next TV segment: "It's gonna get weird" from Gravity Falls. It's a deleted Bill Cipher song that is both hilarious and terrifying, just like the character.
Glad to see this is becoming a staple! Here are my suggestions for the next list: Non-Disney: 'It's Terror Time Again' from Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island TV: 'The Goblin Song' from Doctor Who Theatre: 'Nerdy Prudes Must Die' from... Nerdy Prudes Must Die Video Game: 'E.G.G.M.A.N.' from Sonic Adventure 2 Fan Song: 'The Toybox' by Stupendium (fan song for 'Poppy's Playtime')
I lost track of New Who several Doctors ago, and like Classic Who a whole lot better anyway (Patrick Troughton is best Doctor, even if his run is still gutted). Suggestion: Theater: "Son lo Spirito che Nega Sempre Tutto" from _Mefistofele_
the summoning from NPMD is also pretty good, same with literal monster, and Dirty Dudes must die (Also if you wanna count bury the bully as a villain song you can add it to this list)
More suggestions: Theater: "Credo in un Deo Crudel" from Verdi's _Otello._ Before there was Heath Ledger's Joker, there was Verdi's take on Iago. TV: "Where in the World Is/Carmen Sandiego" "The Ballad of the Last Chance Saloon", narrative version, from Doctor Who. It tells the whole story, including the baddies' role.
Non-disney movie: What a gorgeous creep. Theatre: What a diva. TV show: What a goofball. Videogames: What a magnificent bastard. Fan-made: What. A. F*****g. REDEMPTION!!!
For video game songs, here's nominating Fatherland Follies from Psychonauts 2; not so much a song that one would want to deliberately listen to but an excellently-presented plot device that justifies the presence of a villain whose introduction one would think comes way too late in the story to work when looking at it on paper.
I recognize the theatric one : it was one of my closest friends'most liked opera song. I have no real interest for opera but she did and this was one of the song she showed me to enjoy the performer incredible voice. And I did a bit. Now I think about her everytime I hear that soprano part. I miss you, my friend. May you rest eternally as a queen of the night within my memories.
In regards for what songs you can focus on for the next part.. Non-disney: Money (Tom and Jerry: The Movie) [Im glad you were able to show a clip of that film from my childhood, I always did have a soft spot for the cat and mouse duo!] Theater: Story of the Phantom (Goosebumps the Musical) [In a way, the song paints him as a tragic villain.. would that count?] TV: Respectless (Hazbin Hotel) [It might be short, but a clash between Latin & Hip Hop is more lit than the fires of hell!] Video Game: Get Off My Lawn - River City Girls 2 [Feel the Heat’s also a great song that fits the category!] Fanmade: Sleep Well - CG5 (Poppy Playtime) [I know it’s canon given how the artist was probably hired to create the song, but in a way it serves as an allegory for how the toys of Playtime Co wish to be free from the Prototype’s control! Least how I like to interpret it..]
I've got a suggestion for the next Fan-Made song; Something Wicked by cthulhu lemon. For context, the song itself is based on the events of the Minecraft TH-cam series, the Life Series, where a bunch of TH-camrs play an extreme and complicated version of hardcore Minecraft. In their third season, Double Life, the rules for the game was that everyone had three lives and was supposed to have a "soulmate" whom they share a healthbar with (ie, if your soulmate got blown up by a Creeper, you died too). Most of the players all partnered up with their respective soulmates, but not all of them. One of them, Pearlescentmoon, or Pearl for short, was outright abandoned by her soulmate Scott after she and another player, Martyn, went on an adventure instead of looking for their soulmates like everyone else. Because of the fact that she ended up on her own in a season that promotes co-operation, plus the added in real life issue of Pearl being in Australia while everyone else was in a completely different timezons, resulting in her playing the game with little to no sleep, Pearl spent the rest of the series acting like a crazy woman, with her only source of stability being a wolf she tamed named Tilly. The other gamers all become fearful of her, her odd behavior unsettling them, with one of them even remarking that there's "something wicked" within her, which led to her catchphrase in the final session of Double Life; "Something wicked this way comes" By the end of Double Life, she's devolved into a cackling mad woman surrounded by an army of wolves that became more of an unhinged threat than the actual Red Names (players who were on the last of their three lives and were granted the ability to kill other players). But the story is twisted when you watch it from her perspective. The events that eventually led to her mad spiral are all clearly outside of her control, especially as she repeatedly tries to form friendships with other players, only to get harshly rejected and betrayed time and time again (Ren blaming her when he lost his first life to an Enderman, Cleo lighting Tilly on fire), causing a gradual decline in her sanity, which she ultimately blames on Scott, who had not only been her friend in the previous season, but is outright ignoring her like you'd try to do with any "crazy ex-girlfriend" as he calls her and only even talks or workswith her whenever circumstances call for it. Her only friend for a majority of the series is Tilly, to the point that the idea of losing Tilly becomes the easiest way to make her go ballistic. Something Wicked by cthulhu lemon takes all of that and condenses it all into a haunting melody of Pearl acknowledging the fear the other players have of her ("I've gained a bit of a reputation, and I've lost of respect") but pointing out the reason she is the way she is is because Scott abandoned her ("I know that you can't stand me, sweetheart I'm all too aware") and his attempts to ghost her whenever he can ("Just don't pretend like I'm nobody, it's almost too much to bear") as she outright rejects the idea of trying to patch things up and regain any sanity she could by doing so. The damage has already been done, and her situation is f(yay)ed up beyond all repair. As far as Pearl, in her slowly crumbling mind, is concerned, Scott's not her partner anymore; Tilly, the only one to not abandon her, is her real partner. And if anything happens to Tilly, then the last thing you'll hear is someone whispering in the distance "Something wicked this way comes, Something wicked this way comes, Something wicked this way comes"
Again, I am going to suggest Nerdy Prudes Must Die from the brilliant Starkid theater production. It perfectly captures the hurt that Max feels due to how everyone has just moved on and is destroying the class system he built up within the school in the 2 weeks that he's been dead, and his last straw is when Richie, one of the nerds, is accepted into the huddle during the big football game. Because of that, he decides to take his revenge on Richie by killing him, but first, he wants to toy with his prey.
3:33 The way David Bowie character was designed looks straight out of a yoshitaka amano FF6 art style. 8:45 the Queen of the night gives me Queen chrysalis ((This Day aria)) from MLP G4 10:34 he would be the perfect Live Action Waluigi. Rest in Peace Karl Stevan. 14:58 so technically he’s Hades from Disney Hercules but more Ruthless and evil. I have to play this game someday. 19:22 a Disney villain who’s a married couple tempted to conquer the world and they are also in love with each other and inseparable, that’s a Disney movie I want to see. But you know current Disney won’t take this risk.
Instead, Magnifico turned out to be a hero who made a tragic mistake when pushed too far, and _Wish_ wound up with the message that anyone who doesn't give you what you want is automatically evil.
I really hope you continue this series for a good long while, There's plenty of villain songs to praise. I hope for Video Game next time you mention "Join me at the Top" from Is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, It's pretty simple, but it is a glorious over the "top" villain song about Emperor Nefarious seeing about how great he is and how no one will ever reach his hights, and how he'll never fall, while forcing Dr Nefarious to do the same.
I will always say that hellfire is the godfather of villain songs. I just feel like there is nothing else like it. I remember hearing the annapantsu cover when I was 14-15 and just being obsessed with it. And when I did watch the film version, I couldn’t get over how intimidating it was. Such dark yet beautiful imagery mixed with tony jays unsettling, booming voice, all for a song about lust, greed, power, and a touch of shame. I wish villain songs (specifically Disney villain songs), could be this great. I also think be prepared is another good one, although I might be saying that because scars animation is fantastic!
I would really appreciate it if you talked about “watch me work” from trolls 3. It is such a bop sung by two of my favorite characters in the trolls universe. The lyrics are also very interesting as it talks about working hard to get what you want while the ones singing it are taking the easy (and morally wrong) way to get famous quick.
I don't know which category it would fit in but PLEASE check out the villain song "Creative Control" from Mr. Puzzles of the SMG4 Mario and co do stupid memes TH-cam series from the story arc Puzzlevision. He finds a way to create and control parodies of obvious series using the crew as his puppets in order to try and take the popularity of the SMG4 crew for himself but once things go wrong he has no backup plan and tries to let the chaos happen so he can get to his 5 star rating and take complete control of them but now that they are aware he needs to impress them in song form and blows them all away. He reveals his lonely tv watching childhood but not to try and make them empathize, he is a showman only seeking the spotlight and has no qualms removing their free willl for his own gain or any empathy for throwing them in the deep end. He only wants to record it for his own gain. Also ripping off his own head and replacing it with a television to create and trap his victims in a media inspired pocket reality he gets to broadcast and benefit from is one of the most sociopathic things yet works as a very real commentary on the modern TH-cam internet landscape where so many seek to pad their numbers through the tears and failures of others. He ultimately fails but lives on to try and steal their popularity for himself another day.
@samweaver9109 I can see why you could argue that since the series features Nintendo characters yet Mr. Puzzles isn't. He is a completely original character with no direct source of inspiration.
I’d love to hear you talk about In My Sights by Paranoid DJ. Striker is one of my favourite villains in recent years and it was so cool to have his voice actor Edward Bosco sing a fan made song. Much like Smile Like You Mean It and Look My Way, it’s good enough to be canon.
I would love if you covered Random Encouter’s “Blasting Off Again”, a hilarious team rocket fan song that gets there over the top personality perfect. Can’t wait to See more anyway though.
One villain song not on your lists (or movies, TV, Games or Theatre) but I feel needs a spotlight, is a song by Voltaire called The King of Villains. Basically a follow-up to his hit song When You're Evil, it features Voltaire as the title character flaunting his evil and calling all mainstream villains posers and even incorporating the titles of classic Disney villain songs into his lyrics to show he is above them.
Oh goodie! More things to put on my iTunes library! If I were to make any recommendations for future entries to this series (in order of categories) MOVIES: Good to be King from The Journey to Bethlehem (when a Christian movie makes a better Disney Villain song than Modern Disney) THEATRE: You’ll Be Back from Hamilton (doesn’t get nearly enough credit if you ask me.) TV SHOWS: Agatha All Along from WandaVision VIDEO GAMES: Hope or Despair from Danganronpa (yeah, Junko actually has a villain song. Who knew?) FAN-SONGS: Fall Little Wendy Bird/Tinker Bell’s Villain Song by Lydia the Bard
Well, since this seems like it'll be a normal thing, I might as weel throw a few suggestions into the ring. Granted, I don't have a song for every category, but I'll still give what I can. Nerdy Prudes Must Die(Musical of the same name): Intense and catchy as hell and one of those "you're absolutely screwed if you hear this" songs. I Really Don't Hate Christmas(Phineas and Ferb): I could've chosen any Doofenshmirtz song, but this one is the funniest to me due to Doof's turmoil wanting hate Christmas yet he just can't. With Me(Sonic and the Black Knight): I'm legitimately surprised a Sonic song didn't appear in the original list, so I'll suggest my personal favorite of the villain songs from the series(the original will likely be featured more, but special mention to Crush 40's version).
Ok. I am anticipating volume two. Please let "Stay Gone" be in it. I'd love to hear his dissection of Vox's insecurity and Alastor just easily pushing his buttons while maintaining his tone and composure until the very end when he throws Vox's opening lines in his face.
I had these in mind if you make another: Non-Disney Movie: *Just The Two Of Us - Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me *Goldmember - Austin Powers In Goldmember -A song by Beyoncé (yes, THAT Beyoncé) about the film's secondary villain, Goldmember. The Dutch with the gold... [Ahem] "member." *My Name is Mok - Rock and Rule -His name is Mok, thanks a lot. You think he's acting, but he's not. TV: *Da Pixie Rap - The Fairly Oddparents *Shame - Big Mouth *Hell is Forever - Hazbin Hotel -Adam may be a first-class tool, but you gotta admit his taste in music rocks. 🤘 *Back To Misery - The Ghost and Molly McGee -Jinx has a few songs in the series, but it's the one from the penultimate episode that gets my vote. Video Games: *All of Scylla and the Sirens' Songs - Hades 2 -I couldn't pick just one.
Definitely not going to anything other than a _dishonorable_ mention: The _Jim'll Fix It_ theme song, because it was meta; in fact, it wasn't even KNOWN to be a villain song until AFTER Jimmy Savile had gone to try to explain himself to his Maker.
ITS THAT TIME AGAIN 🎉🎉🎉 I absolutely LOVE your villain song videos, I'm so glad they're back in this form!! I've always been a sucker for villain songs, and you review them extremely well!
Love this new series, and that 'We Are Number One' finally got talked about. Here's a suggestion for non-Disney movies songs: "Good to be King" sung by Antonio Banderas from "Journey to Bethlehem". Movie is just so-so, but the music is awesome, with this villain song at the top.
Hey Josh, since you did cover fan songs, maybe do a top 10 covering Villain parodies (like the With Lyrics songs or covers with changed lyrics). Some of these are phenomenal and not only delve deeper into the character or characters, but also have amazing lyrics.
Yes… for one of those I’d recommend Lyrica Live’s “Perriot of the Star Spangled Banner” with lyrics video… cause GOD the manic energy the lyrics adds to an already manic song is amazing
What a joy to see my debut on the writing team finally published! I’m so glad everyone enjoyed the Queen of the Night & Our Message to the People segments. Long live opera 🥳
Would a song where it’s not really clear who the villain is still count? I mainly ask with Doomsday by Derivakat in mind, since whether the villain is the singer themselves or who they’re singing to is dependent on who you think is more justified. What I’m Made Of from Sonic Heroes also comes to mind, though that’s more like whether the villain is singing to the hero or vice versa.
Just checking, how many of the people here have heard of "undertale the musical" from a few years back? I know what so many people say about the fandom, and I've never been very deep into that fandom as a result, but this is the good side of it.
For future volumes, I'd love to see Lydia the Bard make the list with one of her fan works. Dealer's choice, but I'd personally go with either Belle or Tinker Belle's villain songs. Also, "Battle with the Four Fiends" would be a great video game choice. On the simpler side, but the sheer menace was enough that I always knew the battle would be a nail biter
I feel like I'm being shamed for liking Wish. I needed some bliss and happiness after I quit my job, and it gave me that along with my mom. It's in a special part of my heart, and I wish people will give it a break.
If you ever decide to do a Disney Villains Songs list, I feel like you could at least shake things up making it a list about Disney songs that aren’t from any of the Animated Canon movies or shorts. Y,know, stuff like Pixar, DVD sequels, spin-offs, TV, video games, Etc. Heck you can even throw in songs from Marvel, Star Wars, The Muppets, and The Simpsons, as long as Disney was involved of course. Now don’t get me wrong, I would love to hear your opinions on the main movie villain songs, maybe even a ranking video on all of them, I just think a list like this one would also be interesting to see. With all that said, here are some of my picks: *Animated Sequels:* You’re Only Second Rate (Aladdin: Return Of Jafar) *Pixar Films:* La Llorona (Coco) Song Of Mor’du (Brave) *Other Animated Films:* Gloomius Maximus (Rolie Polie Olie: The Great Defender of Fun) Gwendolyn’s Lament (Big City Greens Spacecation) Horribly Hazardous Heffalumps (Pooh’s Heffalump Movie) I, Ivan Krank (Teachers Pet The Movie) It’s Our House Now (Mickey’s House Of Villains) Oogie Boogie Song (Nightmare Before Christmas) Petey’s King Of France (Mickey Donald And Goofy: Three Musketeers) *Live Action Films:* Badder (Disenchanted) I’m Number One (Muppets Most Wanted) I Put A Spell On You (Hocus Pocus) Ways To Be Wicked (Descendants 2) *TV Shows:* Agatha All Along (Wandavision) Every Dr Doofenshmirtz Song (Phineas And Ferb) Glomtales (Ducktales 2017) Ha Cha Cha (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) Hail to the Legion of Pirate Villains (Jake And The Neverland Pirates) I’m Not Very Nice (The 7D) It’s Gonna Get Weird (Gravity Falls) A Little Bit Bad (Primos) Naughty Number Nine (Schoolhouse Rock) Rappin Drakken (Kim Possible) Tonight We Strike (The Lion Guard) Victory’s Mine At Last (Penn Zero: Part Time Hero) Welcome To The Club (The Simpsons) You've Been Jinxed (The Ghost And Molly McGee) You Wouldn't Want To Mess With Me (Little Mermaid Animated Series) Yzmapolis (Emperors New School) *Video Games:* The Mad Doctor’s Plan (Epic Mickey 2) Run (Jungle Book Rhythm N Groove) Ursula’s Revenge (Kingdom Hearts 2) *Fan-Made* Good Enough By JakeNeutron (Inside Out 2)
Not sure how much Josh knows about Guilty Gear lore, but for videogame villains songs, I recommend taking a listen to Drift, Happy Chaos' theme from Guilty Gear Strive. Either that, or Requiem, I-no's theme
Cool to see you come back to this. I like hearing you talk about songs. And I can guess from the thumbnail one that *just* missed the Top 10 Fan-Made Villain Songs List.
Song Recommendation (Fan Made) - The Stand (Man or Machine) by The Protomen If you ever want to listen to what despair event horizon sounds like in song form, look no further than the song written for Protoman by the kings of dark Megaman AUs... well, the Protomen. The Song basically reveals the biggest plot twist of the album: Not only is Protoman alive, but he's also serving Dr. Wily... and doing it willingly. Motivated by Wily's Philosophy that Mankind is weak and deserves its subjugation after no one came to his aid when fighting the army of robot masters, he gives humanity and Megaman the biggest "reason you suck" speech in song form: _Tell me now: Is there a man among you here?_ _Is there no one who will stand up and try to fight?_ _Tell me, Man! Is there not one in all your ranks?_ _Is there not one who values courage over life?_ _They looked to me once, now they turn to you!_ _Do you understand now? Do you see that the truth is_ _they don't want to change this? They don't want a hero!_ _They just want a martyr, a statue to raise!_ _I've given everything I can_ _There are no heroes left in man_
I'm glad you finally gave Raphael his due. Its honestly a shame he didn't make devil bosses for his personality, fight, and lore. Ifrc. He's the son of Mephostoplies. Aka. One of the major devils of Hell. Not just that. He has unique slides if you took his deal and honored it or not. Plus. A special interaction with god gale at the epilogue party.
Love this new series! Would love to see Ruthlessness from Epic: the musical! It's a musical adaptation of the Odyssey and it's exactly the kind of "villain singing about how screwed you are" kind of song.
I'm gonna need you to do me a huge favor and check out Epic the Musical. It's full of entrants for a list like this. Scylla, Polyphemus, Thunder Bringer, Puppeteer, Monster. But I think Ruthlessness would take the cake for sure. The metal voice, the anger of a god, the fact that he spits the protags words back in his face, the fact that he sounds like he's disciplining a child that messed up bad... Too good
For a fan-made villain song, I'd like to draw attention to JT Music's "Reflection", a FNAF fan rap/song that's listed as a Springtrap song, but is revealed to actually be about the Mimic animatronic. It's something that I've fallen in love with, and the fact that the entire song is written in 7/4 time just sweetens the deal.
I will say my favorite track from baldur’s gate 3 other than Raphael’s boss theme is legacy of bhaal just the epic sound when you’re fighting either Orin in her slayer form or even saravok and the best part about the track is that it takes a lot of the notes from baldur’s gate 1 and 2 I love that attention to detail
For fan-made songs, highly recommend I’ll Kill You That Way by The Slashstreet Boys. Not sure if it fits your criteria cuz it’s also a parody of a preexisting song but it’s also a huge love letter by fans of the iconic horror movie slashers
Through Patches of Violet is an excellent boss song. In Limbus Company Canto 6, Heathcliff fights an alternate version of himself and his lovely Catherine, who rampage through the mirror worlds, or multiverse, killing alternate versions of themselves thinking their counterparts would be better off. It is a somber, self hating song that espouses that the singer believes their loved one is better off without them. But when you hit phase two and switch to fighting Every Catherine, the lyrics and voice change to a more loving tone. Then it bounces between these versions until the final phase where it becomes a duet, where the singers realize their mistake but it’s too late. Our Heathcliff’s Cathy uses the Canto’s golden bough (MacGuffin of the game) to erase herself from all realities
I'd recommend for the fan made section of a future one of these "Curse Of Darkness" by the band Dragonforce, inspired by Castlevania the song is sung from Dracula's point of view, including his want to wipe out humanity and the personal loss that drove him to do so, also the opening guitar riff is very similar to the opening of bloody tears so that just adds to it
I would love to hear Josh talk about Final Formers, Reverse Rose, Drift or Requiem from GGST, or even F (Frieza's metal theme that's in Resurrection F).
If you every do another Top 10 Best Fanmade Villain Songs, you HAVE to include “I’m Sane” By Axie. Why I say this? It’s because unlike every other Poppy Playtime Song, it focuses on Harley Sawyer, Leith Pierre or Elliot Ludwig rather than the Bigger Body Toys or The Player. This makes it really unique as we see how any of the three men I mentioned descent into madness. Plus if you really think about it, THEY are the true villains of Poppy Playtime, NOT The Toys. Plus the song is a bop.
A pick of my own for each: (without repeating from your lists) Movie: ...I genuinely spent over 30 minutes sitting here trying to think of one that wasn't Disney and wasn't on your list. Theater: What is this Feeling -Wicked)(idk if it counts? Its all I've got) TV: Nothing Left to Lose -Rapunzel's Tangled Advenrure (Ironic that you including Crossing the Line is what made me watch the show, only to end up disagreeing about the best villain song from it) Gaming: Your Reality -DDLC (a villain song that is also a love song is really creative and equally unnerving) Fan Made: Pokemon Villain Rap Cypher -Cam Steady &co (Every single verse from Giovanni to Mewtwo goes hard af and has some brilliant wordplay...I also may or may not have a crush on Zach B's voice)
Another new series! You guys really like it when I talk about villain songs, so any guesses as to who's in the thumbnail?
Amazing Josh. Hope to see more of this in future. Has amazing potential good luck.
Question: can you have a villain song with no lyrics only sound.
I present “Alan Beckers’s Animation vs Minecraft “Note Block Universe”.
I really hope you talk about rustages eren Yeager song 'eyes on me', I know it's debated if wren is a villain but it's being sung about him whilst he is committed genocide so it counts in my eyes
I think Jareth, that fan Villain song for Amaya and Magnifico, and I wanna say the song from the saint's row that Travis Willingham sung
Do the color of the outlines correlate to which of the 5 categories they fit into or no?
Would love to see this series continue.
Fun fact: In Raphael's Fina Act, if you hit him with a silence spell or effect, his vocals disappear until he's no longer silenced. Meaning he is actually singing while trying to kill your party
That is awesome!
I love BG3's attention to detail like that.
Added detail, you can find notes in the game from the bard who helped Raphael compose the song wherein the bard is complaining about Raphael's obsession with the claw bit.
@@Lorekeeper72 lol
8:22 OOOOOOOOOH! I have always wondered what that 🎵Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-AAAAAAH🎵 part came from
Same.
You learn something new everyday.
Same
Same, Thank You Josh for teaching us this music history😊
I appreciate that Josh said almost when he mentioned Wish cause I think a lot of people enjoyed At All Costs and when not watched in context of the movie makes for a good love duet
I have to say knowing what I know now is a guilty pleasure song of mine
When he mentioned Wish, for some reason I thought it was gonna be the This Wish rewrite Asha villain song but, now that I think about it, that doesn't make any sense... XD
Fun fact: there's a story that the queen of the night aria was designed to spite the soprano singing it. As it was the composer's sister in law nagging for a song from him. The coloratura was designed to ensure that specific soprano would be incapable of singing it.
Mozart hated this particular soprano and thought she looked funny when doing her staccatos!
The story I'd heard was that the soprano could hit the notes, but she tended to tilt her head up on high notes and down on low notes so the jumps from high to low caused her to subconsciously bob her head like a chicken.
The Stupendium has got a ton of amazing villain songs, so I'll just leave my top five suggestions:
1. Fiend Like Me
2. The Production Line
3. No One's Home
4. What A Fowl Day
5. The End of the Line
"The House Always Wins" the one for Fallout; New Vegas
Too
How could you forget the Fine Print, Rest Employed and The Data Stream????
@@dallastexas1684 Didn't forget, these are just my personal favorites.
@@SublimeSlime-mc3zvwhat about wool over our eyes and the toybox
@@SublimeSlime-mc3zv What about Ad Infinitum?
Also, no hate, but is Production Line really a villain song? It feels more like a victim song as it's sung by the abused employees rather than the big bad boss in charge.
I'm probably that 1% of the population that actually likes Wish, but even I acknowledge that the fandom did more entertaining and creative ideas with the deleted concepts than the actual movie ever did.
You aren’t alone. I love that movie, but I love the idea of the king and queen being a deliciously evil couple
Hazbin Hotel>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wish
The only time I heard someone talk about that movie was between some girl and her two friends/siblings. She said she enjoyed it… they weren’t having it.
We are Number 1 is prolific enough for Stefan's character he voiced in For Honor (Berserker), to receive a "WE ARE NUMBER 1!" statue in game after his passing. I will continue to make redditors frothing mad in your honor you legend!
Ah for honor, tell me is it dead yet?
Here are my recommendations:
Non Disney movie-We’re bringing back Christmas from Spirited
Theater-No one remembers Achmed from Twisted
Tv-Killjoy from the Ghost and Molly McGee
Video Game-Grulovia from Psychonauts 2
Fan made-Fine Print by Stupendium
Funny enough, I am a huge fan of Labyrinth and it is one of my favorite films of all time! I actually love Within You, Underground, and Dance Magic. I will blast those songs on repeat because they are so catchy.
Well when lists about villain songs tend to be the most viewed in recent years on your channel I suppose leaning into that just makes sense!
I suggested this song in your Top 10 Theater Villain Songs video so I'm just gonna copy and paste my comment here:
"I just recently found a strong contender for this list: "Nothing" from "The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls".
A sociopathic villain and a pure and selfless hero trying to understand each other."
Seriously, this song is AMAZING for absolutely no reason and it's a crime that it's so underrated. More people need to hear it.
That sounds very interesting! Thanks for sharing!
i agree with you it is amazing, I to that song atleast once every other day
I'm honestly jealous of opera singers sometimes, like the vocal ranges, it's incredible!
And the lung capacity
Ah, new songs to add to my playlist! Glad to see Milkymelodies and Caleb Hyles since I love their work(though initially thought it was gonna be Lydia the Bard)
Currently for villian songs, spoilers for Inanimate Insanity…episode 15 just came out after 4 years of waiting and in it Taco sings with Mepad about her plan to “end the lies” which is a song that hasn’t left my head in days.
Here are my suggestions for the next list:
Non-Disney: 'It's Terror Time Again' from Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island
TV: 'The Goblin Song' from Doctor Who
Theatre: 'Nerdy Prudes Must Die' from... Nerdy Prudes Must Die
Video Game: 'E.G.G.M.A.N.' from Sonic Adventure 2
Fan Song: 'The Toybox' by Stupendium (fan song for 'Poppy's Playtime')
I lost track of New Who several Doctors ago, and like Classic Who a whole lot better anyway (Patrick Troughton is best Doctor, even if his run is still gutted).
Suggestion:
Theater: "Son lo Spirito che Nega Sempre Tutto" from _Mefistofele_
the summoning from NPMD is also pretty good, same with literal monster, and Dirty Dudes must die (Also if you wanna count bury the bully as a villain song you can add it to this list)
More suggestions:
Theater:
"Credo in un Deo Crudel" from Verdi's _Otello._ Before there was Heath Ledger's Joker, there was Verdi's take on Iago.
TV:
"Where in the World Is/Carmen Sandiego"
"The Ballad of the Last Chance Saloon", narrative version, from Doctor Who.
I'm so glad you'd shout out "our message to the people", It makes me pine for a movie we will never have.
In regards for what songs you can focus on for the next part..
Non-disney: Money (Tom and Jerry: The Movie) [Im glad you were able to show a clip of that film from my childhood, I always did have a soft spot for the cat and mouse duo!]
Theater: Story of the Phantom (Goosebumps the Musical) [In a way, the song paints him as a tragic villain.. would that count?]
TV: Respectless (Hazbin Hotel) [It might be short, but a clash between Latin & Hip Hop is more lit than the fires of hell!]
Video Game: Get Off My Lawn - River City Girls 2 [Feel the Heat’s also a great song that fits the category!]
Fanmade: Sleep Well - CG5 (Poppy Playtime) [I know it’s canon given how the artist was probably hired to create the song, but in a way it serves as an allegory for how the toys of Playtime Co wish to be free from the Prototype’s control! Least how I like to interpret it..]
A new series? How delightfully devious.
Creative Control from SMG4 would be a great one to cover!
Touché
@@Mason-d2hI agree.
The other gamers all become fearful of her, her odd behavior unsettling them, with one of them even remarking that there's "something wicked" within her, which led to her catchphrase in the final session of Double Life; "Something wicked this way comes"
By the end of Double Life, she's devolved into a cackling mad woman surrounded by an army of wolves that became more of an unhinged threat than the actual Red Names (players who were on the last of their three lives and were granted the ability to kill other players).
And if anything happens to Tilly, then the last thing you'll hear is someone whispering in the distance
"Something wicked this way comes, Something wicked this way comes, Something wicked this way comes"
8:45 the Queen of the night gives me Queen chrysalis ((This Day aria)) from MLP G4
10:34 he would be the perfect Live Action Waluigi.
I used to have the cassette tape for Labyrinth and listened to it as a kid. Still love that crazy movie and David Bowie.
Highly recommend for the next one. "Join Me at the Top" from the video game Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart.
10:23 As someone who watches the8bitdrummer regularly play meme songs, I'm so happy to see this one! HEY!
I don’t think you needed to explain quite THAT much, but it would still be awesome to hear Josh talk about Creative Control.
@SublimeSlime-mc3zv I know but because I can't pin down a category it fits I felt I needed to give some context to justify its quality.
Personally, I think it would count as "Fanmade".
@samweaver9109 I can see why you could argue that since the series features Nintendo characters yet Mr. Puzzles isn't. He is a completely original character with no direct source of inspiration.
So this was the surprise! Hope to hear different great villain songs we haven't seen from the previous countdowns in this ongoing series.
If the Music Meister from Batman the Brave and the Bold isn't in at least one of these lists, it'll be a crime against music.
Who knew Neil Patrick Harrison can sing so well
Hopefully in ur next villain song video in the tv section u could put in a hazbin hotel song, like stayed gone or hell is forever.
If I were to make any recommendations for future entries to this series (in order of categories)
MOVIES: Good to be King from The Journey to Bethlehem (when a Christian movie makes a better Disney Villain song than Modern Disney)
THEATRE: You’ll Be Back from Hamilton (doesn’t get nearly enough credit if you ask me.)
TV SHOWS: Agatha All Along from WandaVision
VIDEO GAMES: Hope or Despair from Danganronpa (yeah, Junko actually has a villain song. Who knew?)
FAN-SONGS: Fall Little Wendy Bird/Tinker Bell’s Villain Song by Lydia the Bard
Calling it now, next video in this series will include either "Stayed Gone" or "Hell is Forever" from Hazbin Hotel.
I had these in mind if you make another:
Non-Disney Movie:
*Just The Two Of Us - Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
*Goldmember - Austin Powers In Goldmember
-A song by Beyoncé (yes, THAT Beyoncé) about the film's secondary villain, Goldmember. The Dutch with the gold... [Ahem] "member."
*My Name is Mok - Rock and Rule
-His name is Mok, thanks a lot.
You think he's acting, but he's not.
TV:
*Da Pixie Rap - The Fairly Oddparents
*Shame - Big Mouth
*Hell is Forever - Hazbin Hotel
-Adam may be a first-class tool, but you gotta admit his taste in music rocks. 🤘
*Back To Misery - The Ghost and Molly McGee
-Jinx has a few songs in the series, but it's the one from the penultimate episode that gets my vote.
Video Games:
*All of Scylla and the Sirens' Songs - Hades 2
-I couldn't pick just one.
Definitely not going to anything other than a _dishonorable_ mention: The _Jim'll Fix It_ theme song, because it was meta; in fact, it wasn't even KNOWN to be a villain song until AFTER Jimmy Savile had gone to try to explain himself to his Maker.
ITS THAT TIME AGAIN 🎉🎉🎉
I absolutely LOVE your villain song videos, I'm so glad they're back in this form!! I've always been a sucker for villain songs, and you review them extremely well!
4:20
"Thank you, Trisha, for setting your people back a thousand years."
4:10 i couldn't breathe, I was laughing so hard.
I recently started wathcing DBZA again.
THE SPOT VS W.D. GASTER IS SO GOOD!
Love these and totally didn't watch those previous ones several times XD

Did anyone notice the Death’s Doorstep instrumental during the fan-made song section?
I love this for a series! It was so interesting to see the different forms of media that have villain songs! Honestly would love to see more!
Song Recommendation (Fan Made) - The Stand (Man or Machine) by The Protomen
If you ever want to listen to what despair event horizon sounds like in song form, look no further than the song written for Protoman by the kings of dark Megaman AUs... well, the Protomen. The Song basically reveals the biggest plot twist of the album: Not only is Protoman alive, but he's also serving Dr. Wily... and doing it willingly. Motivated by Wily's Philosophy that Mankind is weak and deserves its subjugation after no one came to his aid when fighting the army of robot masters, he gives humanity and Megaman the biggest "reason you suck" speech in song form:
_Tell me now: Is there a man among you here?_
_Is there no one who will stand up and try to fight?_
_Tell me, Man! Is there not one in all your ranks?_
_Is there not one who values courage over life?_
_They looked to me once, now they turn to you!_
_Do you understand now? Do you see that the truth is_
_they don't want to change this? They don't want a hero!_
_They just want a martyr, a statue to raise!_
_I've given everything I can_
_There are no heroes left in man_
Kid Danger: *wearing his mighty pup movie outfit and dances to the into music and spins his tail* woooooooooooo! oh yeah!
If were revisiting Villain songs we gotta get to Music Meister
I wonder when you'll get to cover Hell is Forever...
Or maybe Stayed Gone?
I have a very interesting suggestion for the next one
Tacos Tirade(Inanimate insanity season 2) nuff said (members of the OSC you know what to do)
I'm glad you finally gave Raphael his due.
My recommendations:
TV Show: Hell is Forever (Hazbin Hotel)
Video Game: With Me (Sonic and the Black Knight)
Fan-made: All-Consuming (Death Battle)
Labyrinth is one of my absolute favorite movies! So happy to see it on the list. xD
Your fanmade villain songs video got me into MLP. Glad to see another video about music.
So glad this is now a series and I can’t wait for more
There ain't no WAY you just hit us with Queen Of The Night, you are correct and you should say itttt
Love this new series! Would love to see Ruthlessness from Epic: the musical! It's a musical adaptation of the Odyssey and it's exactly the kind of "villain singing about how screwed you are" kind of song.
Seriously that "CONSUMES!" just carries so much gravitas
Please do versions of William Afton bad to worst from the movie to the dreaded twelveman tapes
Another amazing video! I cannot wait to see what comes next.
As soon as I saw this video in my feed I knew Raphael had to be in it. Massive props to everyone involved in making this song
For future theater songs, might I reccomend you use "Edgar Builds a Buisness" from the Dolls of New Albion?
10:28 Wait! That was him?! *WHAT?!!*
I'd recommend for the fan made section of a future one of these "Curse Of Darkness" by the band Dragonforce, inspired by Castlevania the song is sung from Dracula's point of view, including his want to wipe out humanity and the personal loss that drove him to do so, also the opening guitar riff is very similar to the opening of bloody tears so that just adds to it
I haven't seen Wish, but I get a lot of joy out of Our Message to the People!
I hope to see this series continue cause there are so many good villains songs
8:22 had absolutely no reason to recognize this song till this bit
Am I uncultured?
......thank you trisha for setting your people back a thousand years
Just something I want to share. In Epic the Musical there's a great villain song called Ruthlessness.
Unrelated question: For a future video, maybe a Halloween special, could you do a video about the top ten best gaming creepypastas (in your opinion)?
Did you ever thought about Smg4 villian songs
A pick of my own for each: (without repeating from your lists)
Movie: ...I genuinely spent over 30 minutes sitting here trying to think of one that wasn't Disney and wasn't on your list.
Theater: What is this Feeling -Wicked)(idk if it counts? Its all I've got)
TV: Nothing Left to Lose -Rapunzel's Tangled Advenrure
(Ironic that you including Crossing the Line is what made me watch the show, only to end up disagreeing about the best villain song from it)
Gaming: Your Reality -DDLC (a villain song that is also a love song is really creative and equally unnerving)
Fan Made: Pokemon Villain Rap Cypher -Cam Steady &co
(Every single verse from Giovanni to Mewtwo goes hard af and has some brilliant wordplay...I also may or may not have a crush on Zach B's voice)
4. I remember seeing an animated version of this musical in my elementary school music class.
