  • Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, 24th July 2021, Derbyshire, England. Steam locomotive in action. Featured, Great Western Railway, GWR, 0-6-0 Pannier Tank No.9466. Designed by F.W. Hawksworth, built by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn Ltd, 1951. Action in the yard at Wirksworth. BR Standard Class 4, 2-6-4T, 80080, built 1954, Brighton Works, alongside GWR 9466. Locomotives in the yard, Andrew Barclay, Works No.2217, Henry Ellison. Class 14, D9537, Eric arriving from Duffield at Wirksworth prior to our departure at 10.55am behind 9466. Journey through the Derbyshire countryside to Shottle and Duffield and return. Filmed in 4K.

    I’m gonna see 9466 in November because that locomotive is used for banking duty at the lickey incline

    Thoroughly enjoyed, thanks Nick, top quality as ever and atmospheric content (which you know I enjoy). In filming or editing, were you aware that you captured a smoke ring at 06:05? Excellent front-window sequences on the return. Kind regards, Bob

    Great video Nick, they certainly have a wide variety of stock on the EVR. Went there a couple of years ago for their steam gala with the A class and the Standard 2 and had a very enjoyable couple of journeys to Duffield, but I think I will have to visit again now that they have a pannier!
