I've been watching your videos & posts since starting my silver & curly girl journey. Your hair is drop-dead gorgeous! Thank you so much for all of your tips & advice! I ended up with a pixie to get fully transitioned after 1 year of growing it out. I can't wait for my hair to grow long again so I can put your tips to good use.
Thank you so much. ❤️ I wish I had gone from a pixie sometimes because I feel like my hair would be a little less prone to frizz with all the different lengths of growth.
I really liked the first one best! Because I want volume, volume, volume. If I use conditioner, my hair looks like collapsed and I don't like that. Shinyness isn't so very important to me...
Trust me, the first version, no one wants because in just a few hours it is a tangled tumbleweed. Try lightweight conditioner or conditioners for volume. You still want a conditioner to help keep your hair healthy. If you want volume at all costs, avoid waxes and silicones.
How did I miss this when it came out? Gonna have to turn on those notifications! Great video, very helpful to see the difference, I’ve never been disciplined enough to do your experiment. I’m still seeking my perfect gel, I’ll give LOMA a try next time (though I wish they disclosed their full ingredient list 🧐)
If you need any ingredients you can look at their product listings on Amazon, they have started including them there. They have just started a rebuild of their main site and I’m hoping they add them there. I have all the silicone free products and their ingredients in this post: quicksilverhair.com/all-loma-essentials-washday-on-curly-silver-hair/
@@QuickSilverHair update. Tried the Loma gel for the first time today. BEST WAVY HAIR DAY YET! It has such a unique consistency, unlike any other gel I’ve tried. I have *spirals* at the end. What is happening?! Thank you!!
When I use only shampoo and conditioner, I can air dry my hair and have it look okay (I’ve never tried that with shampoo only and no conditioner). If I use only a leave in conditioner or cream after shampooing and conditioner, my hair is too soft and tightly curled and has no volume . I need a gel to pull down my hair a little because my hair is fine and lightweight, and somehow putting a cream or leave in in it just gives me no volume. When I use a gel, and my hair is a little elongated, it looks fuller to me for some reason. The woman who recently cut my hair told me to at typically a cream gives more volume than a gel, but that’s not what I’ve found. I always air dry because I’m too lazy to diffuse and don’t know how to do it. :)
Love this so much! I laughed so hard at day one shampoo only. I was not prepared for that. Thank you for doing this. Our underneath is the same. I have finally figure out how to get it happy ( most days). I can’t comprehend not using conditioner. Like I can’t ever get a brush thru with out. Leave in and gel are an absolute game changer for me. And lomas gel is the absolute best… but you already know that 🧐
This is a great experiment! Thanks for enduring the Trelawny hair. 😁❤️ I also have to say that I understand the whole 2nd and 3rd day hair. I have type 3 hair and I can never refresh because it just doesn't work for me. 🤷🏽♀️
The things I do sometimes… 🤣 I do believe I nailed the point though. I have never figured out what the variables are for great 2nd, 3rd and 95th day hair. Thanks for watching. ❤️
Prior to having all gray, did you have curly hair? Or is this something that developed as you went gray? I feel like my hair used to be super straight and now definitely have some curl
I have always had somewhere from wavy to curly. My hair lost a bit of curl and became wavier after I ditched the dye. You can watch my curly story here 👉🏻 th-cam.com/video/gdVZc9oo3Vg/w-d-xo.html
I have a huge problem with frizz. I live in an area of very high humidity (80-90%) and very hot temperatures. I use shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, gel, and air dry. What can I do to eliminate frizz?
Hi Paula, one issue may be glycerin. Glycerin can cause problems for some people. So look into your product ingredients to see if you are using something in your stylers that is high in glycerin. I also have this video and a corresponding blog on Dew Points, where I also discuss glycerin. th-cam.com/video/kg7AjgBFM9Y/w-d-xo.html And you might need to apply your products in a different way, or experiment with skipping leave in when the humidity is high. And this video has some info on application methods. Ultimate Guide to Curly Girl Application Methods - Simply Silver Curls Part 3 - Joli Campbell th-cam.com/video/zJYLjEkP-Oo/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps you. 🌟
This video is exactly why it's laughable when people say "the gel is making your hair curly". Straight hair and hair with a curl dries TOTALLY different without product.
That all sounds like the use of the wrong products for your hair type. I have a curly playlist that is all my videos for wavy curly silvers and I have several blog posts discussing porosity, dew points and weather, hair type, etc. They are great starting points. To really help you I’d have to have all your hair type info and products you use, I do also offer a consultation so I can explore your products and routine, if you want one on one help. Great demonstrations and proof of the importance of the products you use in your hair. Awesome!!! ❤️
Thank you. It was most interesting even for me. 😂
Oooo I will look into gel. I have never used gel on the regular. I do air dry 90% of the time.
It is a must-have in my line-up. You can also try mousse, but they tend to be a little less hold and on the softer side.
This video was very helpful. I am just realizing how dry and curly my 62 year old hair has become and now I know how to treat it. Thank you.
Happy, I could help. I hope you find the right products to make your silvers their best. 🙂
