The lyrics at the end of Dangerous Game appear on the dance mix to Confide in Me, which was huge in the clubs when this was released. I remember screaming Kylie’s back when we realised it was her new song on the dance floor. Great times!! 💙
This album is a vibe, total chill and definitely her most vocal album, I love it. Put yourself is not only my favourite song on the album but my favourite Kylie song ever. My top 4 on here are definitely - 1. Put yourself in my place 2. Confide in me 3. Automatic Love 4. Dangerous Game
Agree 100%! Lyrics, vocals, production etc. these are the best. Shame that Gotta move on and Difficult by design didn't make it to the album instead of some of the weaker ones. It'd have had a bit more mature and elegant feel to it with those songs.
You really are generation z. The 90’s was known for wonderfully long tracks. I guess you have to be an 80’s kid to appreciate how incredible this albums is, we have the attention span for it 😂 PYIMP is in my top 3 all time Kylie masterpieces ❤
Haha I’m Gen Y 😜 I always get told off for whinging about long songs - I like them when I vibe the songs, but I also whinge when songs are under 3 mins hehe
The length of the songs on this album, was actually part of the brief. The record company actually wanted the album to feel like a collection of 12" singles. I loved the album at the time. And it was an album of the time musically. But its not a favourite now. The singles are amongst my most loved though. And her voice never sounded better than on this record. And the final track was produced by M people who did 'moving on up' (they were on the same label) and the production, again is very much of its time. I love the track but the production hasnt aged well. Impossible princess is far superior for me, both musically and lyrically
@@bennshouts well I dunno about worldwide, but M People were massive in the UK with hit after hit. Time will pass you by, was considered as a single, and even had remixes issued. I think the record company probably wanted that failsafe sound to fall back on. But as I said, the production now just sounds very much 1994. It's also worth noting that the song is a cover version, and the original is considered a northern soul classic by Tobi Legend, so this was an interesting take on it 🙂
@@bennshouts Can't you add it? It's one of my favorite tracks of the album. 😢 No wonder time flew by for when you forgot one of the longest songs, lol!
Yeeeeesssss, Benn! You're almost through the whole discographies of two of my favorites, Björk and Kylie! You completely stopped your journeys with Tori Amos and Kate Bush though. Please, please keep them up again! Big kisses
Where is the Feeling admittedly wasnt the best on the album version BUT the Brothers in rhythm Dolphin mix used in the video is freaking amazing and completely different feel. makes a totally different song out of it,darker and creepier
I'm pretty excited for you to hear Impossible Princess. I thibk you'll like it more if only because the tracks are all much more concise. Also, it's the only Kylie album where she has writing credits on every single song and even a few tracks written by herself.
The last track “Time Will Pass You By” was produced by M People which is why it sounds similar to Moving On Up. It was planned to be a single but was cancelled, thank fuck because it’s shite. Put Yourself In My Place and Falling are my favourites but overall not my favourite Kylie album
What!! 😱 Time will pass you baby is an absolute banger! Best song on the album apart from Confide in Me and PYIMP. Should have been a single and would have been a smash.
You just have to live through that era to understand why songs are longer then. It was catered to the clubs mostly. Anyway is it just me or is there a song missing from this reaction? Where Has The Love Gone
Kylie's voice has never sounded so robust than on this album. Sonically, the album is a blend of the most dominant genres at the time: New Jack Swing, R&B, & House music. I take it you fully skipped over Where Has the Love Gone due to length. Nothing Can Stop Us or Put Yourself In My Place (Dan's Old Skool Mix) could've been good replacements.
@@bennshouts thing you have to remember is “back then” (lol can’t believe I’m saying that)…. Back then people heavily invested money and time into the music they listened to and you couldn’t just skip through Spotify after 2 mins into each song and onto another. So the songs that were good, were just epically good with longer running times. Anyway 40 something guy rant over lol 😝
the acoustic version of where is the feeling is about 5 minutes long and definitely a better version! the instruments feel much more real and i enjoy listening to it much more than the original version
I think you are ready for Tori Amos "Under The Pink" 90s pop, piano-driven, melodies like some of your reviewed pop-singers and artistry of some of your other reviewed artists. Don't listen to anything and just go... You'll thank me.
hey king, URIAS drop the last past of the album, please! when u have some time, react to! 😭🙏🏼🙏🏼 maybe u wanna listen the hole work, the full album is now available!!! thanks! ♥️♥️🇧🇷🇧🇷
Not you describing the album cover as her as substitute teacher in an adult film. Haha. Genius. I’ve found it difficult to get into Kylie’s pre-electropop music. It’s just so bland and generic. This album in particular sounds like wannabe Erotica but without the artistic excellence, entertainment value, and point of view. All her albums from Fever on are absolutely ace, tho.

@@bennshouts “You’ve only got 4 minutes to save the world”
Top 5 in her discography right there.
It's like Madonna's Erotica and Love Deluxe's Sade had a baby while listening to janet.
This was her first try on indie, but in the next album Impossible Princess, it became better.
This album is like day and IP is like the night album
So keen to hear IP!
It's one of my favourite albums from her, and "Falling" and "Where Has The Love Gone?" are definitely two of my favourite tracks she's ever recorded.

Also, how did M People want it sounding so similiar?! So wild!!

I was gonna go on a full on rant if you didn't like Put Yourself in My Place haha! 🤣 She performs this live incredibly well.
HAHAHA
My favorite song is the Japanese bonus track "Love is Waiting." Not on the proper album but easily found on re-release.
classic album 👑💯😍🔥👌
one of my faves from her production and vocals are everything

I will definitely say, as much as I love this album, you can 100% hear and tell the singles from album tracks from production value alone.
Yes!
For me Where is the feeling doesn't have single value. I would have much rather liked to see Automatic love and Dangerous game on MTV back then.
i'm gonna close my eyes and forget this review ever happend (i adore this album) and wait for IMPOSSIBLE PRINCESS 😂❤
HAHAHAHA, I'm sorry :P
Her best album ever made! + impossible princess 1997
Terry was still her manager but she had left Stock Aitken and Waterman.
OOOHHHH okay

I think she’s more Janet Jackson than Madonna . She even said it in interviews and reflecting on this you can see and hear it .
anybody who actually knows janets discography agrees with this statement
Ooo okay!
Automatic Lve was onluded on The Hits + compilation in much better version as well as song If You dont love me - i recommend higly! 😎
Really like your impartial review of this album. As a Kylie fan since 1987 I really appreciate a good critique. Thank you from the UK.
Not new management but a new label.

Omg makes sense but cant believe they made it sound so similiar!
Confide in Me came number 30 in the triple j hottest 100 that year which was huge considering how poppy she'd been up until that point
LOVE this sm!!!

"Tine Will Pass You By" is kind of Kylie's Eurovision moment. 90s Eurovision that is. 😉
Where's your reaction to Where has the love gone? That's on the album too.
Where’s Where has the love gone?
Commenting now before he starts this. I'm guessing, before this starts, he'll hate (dislike) some of these longer tracks at the end...
Long 3 tracks in, but that's song shouldn't be that long, so I agree
Fuck yeah, he likes Falling. Happy with the rest of the reaction.
HAHA you know me too well
Falling is so good
LOVEEEE
You've missed Where Has The Love Gone?, curious if you liked this one or not.
He either hated it and omitted that reaction or skipped it entirely due to length.
ART 10 OUT OF 10
I kinda think this is her best album (except the last song)
There’s something so hot about how frustrated you get at the track lengths 😅
