BTS is free for interpretation regardless of their intended meaning (yes, that is important to explore, but there’s value in ppl being able to take away something unique to them from their art). “The fake love can be between 2 ppl but it can also be between me and myself”-RM
Ultimately they are talking abt idealized version of love being fake and the realization that trying to keep up an act of fake love can be very damaging to yourself. Like when ppl pretend to be someone else when they start dating someone new or when you lie to yourself abt being fine and not needing help. You are not truly loving yourself when you do that. Their entire Love Yourself Trilogy is amazing, it’s not just silly songs abt love or cliche messages abt valuing yourself more, it’s a deep exploration of the concept of love itself and how we feel an express it in our lives (all told through their own lives and experiences)

In very short, it means you cannot love anyone else truly until you love yourself and the path to that is being true to yourself and to others. And you don't have to worry about knowing not bts universe and everything at once. There's so much to see and you can do it at your own pace. Also the song can have multiple interpretations...yours is just as valid

RM started as a poet before he became a rapper. This sensibility remains so he leaves room for interpretation. He described it as songs being both personal and general. Therefore there is no definitive right or wrong. In fact with being a rapper who uses doubles and triples he may mean all possible interpretations. There is no doubt this impart of the BU. That does not mean that other ideas may also be explored concurrently. This is why Korean is such a beautiful language for lyrics. A one word modifier can give a sentence multiple meanings.
BTS has a universe that has a storyline. fake love also enters this universe. there are a lot of references in it that may not be noticed by those who have just started getting acquainted with BTS, so there are cool explanatory videos from Army that you can also watch. you will be very impressed by the depth of the lyrics and clips.
Great interpretation of the lyrics. In BTS videos some scenes do represent the lyrics but sometimes the video has a different message. You'll get used to it. Only thing I want to point out is even though the lyrics are pretty deep in dark and complicated feelings there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Like in Fake Love they had to reach rock bottom with the whole of their fake love world crumbling around them and in the end they encounter their selves with the mask and finally can be able to deal with their problem as they come face to face. I think it's how BTS reaches so many. Because it is as real and honest as it gets.

The lyrics and the BU are not necessarily together. You can definitely enjoy the visuals, music and lyrics without knowing about the BU. The beauty is that you can enjoy it on the surface as what it seems to be but if you want to dig deeper, there is more to explore. I think they made it that way so you can enjoy it in different ways. We appreciate you saying what you think as well. I mean that makes it a true reaction because when it first came out we didn't have the information either and were just as confused. I'd say that you are free to interpret every MV and every lyrics however you want and feel. Bts is first about music and message, the Bts Univers (BU) is secondary , theres some stuff you might not understand in the MVs but your interpretation of these details will never be a mistake, it's yours.

Yes there is the BU but BTS puts everything in the Music, the MV and the lyrics! Sometimes the MV has a different meaning than the MV (music video)
A good example outside of the BU ist Blood sweat and tears (there is a good explanation Video for it) or our Queen spring day 😭 there is an very good but emotional expression by Italian Army. I would like to see what you see in those MV before and after the explosion (you can always put the explanation right after the reaction, army's love long and detailed reactions, because that way we see you care and start to understand... Okay Fake Love is about all relationships that can go bad in this way: romantic, familial, work etc. Where you can wear this persona that isn't you and lose yourself in it. It's about realizing that this relationship isn't real and it won't work because it's not based on the real you. It's based on this persona that is a lie. Jungkook picking up the sand and it turns into phantom petals is a representation of the line in the song "I grew a flower that can't bloom in a dream that won't come true" Some of the other aspects like the snickers bars and the toys in the room with J-Hope and fire in the room with Suga are all points that goes back to the BU or Bangtan Universe. BTS has a fictional story line that connects a lot of their videos together and Fake Love has some aspects of that in it.
In the intro of BTS '"Fake Love", Jungkook sings: "Love you so bad, love you so bad / Mold a pretty lie for you ... I grew a flower that can't be bloomed in a dream that can't come true ".
These sad lyrics were not just flowery words strung together, as the band intended to tell a story of heartbreak that extended from their previous work.
In the first verse, BTS sings: "I changed everything, just for you / But I don't know me, Who are you?".
The theme of disconnected lovers continues throughout the song. RM brought this up when speaking to Billboard around the time of the song's release. "We're trying to say that if you, in love, when you're not true to yourself, the love won't last", he told.
"Because love is complex and we always have the dark sides and the sad sides."
This song sings the agony of some sort.

Yes, they did say it was about the traumas, it was in the behind MV shooting episode on BANGTANTV.
Jhope's is snickers and the Merry-go-round/Carousel, I don't think is a circus like they also said in the video (maybe it's a translation thing on my end ), in the room there's actually multiple parts of rides from a fair/carnival/amusement park, where he was abandoned.

The 'Love Yourself Era' was strongly inspired by the book 'The Art of Loving' (A Arte de Amar), by Erich Fromm (Psychoanalist). It's a short reading, but very profound, I recommend it. 💜✨

O BTS tem muita mensagem, muito conteúdo importante em suas letras e algumas necessitam de uma atenção especial para desvendar algumas questões ou apreciar as linhas poéticas lindas e inspiradoras, tem alguns MVs inclusive que tem vídeos explicativos sobre o ponto de vista de coreanos, já que a língua coreana tem suas particularidades que para quem entende o idioma as letras fazem ainda mais sentido em certos momentos. Com certeza os Armys irão recomendar alguns desses vídeos explicativos assim para determinadas músicas que você for reagir futuramente kkkk
Essa música, Fake Love, pode ser interpretada de várias formas além do seu real significado, e gostei muito da sua interpretação. Quando vi pela primeira vez a letra eu interpretei de forma quase parecida mas para um lado mais amplo, como quando a gente tenta ser algo que não é para outras pessoas (seja em um relacionamento romântico, familiar, amizade, etc) apenas para agradar a elas ou simplesmete se sentir parte de algum ciclo social, se moldando às opiniões e ideais de determinadas pessoas e deixando de lado suas próprias convicções e princípios, e no processo você acaba se perdendo... Ou como acontece com os próprios idols, artistas, enfim, muitas vezes eles tem que passar a imagem perfeita que os fãs anseiam e a indústria exige deles, então fingem sorrir quando estão tristes, fingem ser forte quando estão fracos e precisando de ajuda... Simplesmente usando uma máscara para cobrir sua dor, seus medos, seu verdadeiro eu... Realmente, tem muitos significados essa letra e aí está o encanto dela 💜 de fato, uma letra incrível!

No BTS Universe, a história dos personagens é contada em duplas. Somente o Seokjin é solo por ser o personagem principal. Então como duplas temos: Namjoon e Taehyung (RM e V), Yoongi (SUGA) e Jungkook e, Hoseok (j-hope) e Jimin.
Namjoon ( RM ), trabalha meio período num posto de gasolina, e tem tendências a atos delinquentes. Nos MV's de I Need U e Run, tem algumas cenas dele e do Taehyung pichando paredes e até sendo pegos por policiais. Ele é a pessoa que o Taehyung tenta ligar, depois de ter matado o pai com a garrafa quebrada. Ele e sua irmã sofriam abusos do pai que era alcoólatra, então ele recorreu ao vandalismo como válvula de escape ao que ele vive dentro de casa.

Yoongi gosta de tocar piano, mas possui péssimas lembranças relacionadas ao piano, por ter fortes ligações com a sua mãe, que morreu quando ele era mais novo. O fogo é o seu gatilho, por isso ele vive segurando um isqueiro e já tentou se suicidar diversas vezes (colocando fogo no próprio quarto) como é contado no The Notes.

Jimin possui algum tipo de doença que faz com ele tenha convulsões frequentes, tendo que realizar visitas constantes ao hospital, abalando sua relação com seus pais e fazendo com que ele troque de colégio várias vezes. O seu trauma é um jardim botânico que ele frequentou quando criança, ele se perdeu da excursão e não conseguiu voltar porque começou a chover, então teve que se abrigar num "galpão" e algo aconteceu lá.

Considerado o personagem principal do BU, Seokjin adquiriu habilidade de viajar no tempo e consequentemente ficou responsável por tentar salvar os seus amigos, porém, ao mudar os acontecimentos do passado acaba gerando um efeito borboleta e Seokjin vai precisar encontrar o Mapa da Alma (Map Of The Soul,nome da Era/Album de Boy With Luv) para conseguir salvar todos.

You should't think about BU this has nothing to the song and people should't talk so much about it to you, simply bc you don't need it now, later if you are interested ok, but you should simply look at this as normal song... BU is hidden for reason, so any cusual listener can sit watch, listen and take from music/video what they want music is subiective. so there is no need for this edit you did at the start.

Like you said there is no right and wrong in interpretation. It is interesting look at the lyrics that you have, very toxic route hehe, I see what you getting at hmm. I see it differnet, If we talk it is between two people then as person that lost himself in the another person, molded themself for another, but I don't see it as obsession, I see it at giving up on himself and begin scared of love but also have nought of it. Bc I know more about BTS and songs before this, and also at what album this song was on (Love Yourself: Tear). I have little different interpretation, it is fake love to yourself, that is why there is so much talking into mirror... We do some things, we change, we try to fit, we try to be liked, to show another onle good sites, etc, but at the end of day it is you and there is more to you, not "pretty lie" that we show to the world, bc we are scared, bc we think that is better, bc we think that more people will like us like that, etc. And yes like you said you know it is lie and you are not that person you knew anymore, but you can't change, (not bc of obsession ;) but), bc you are scared that if you show real you to anothers they won't accept it, bc in reality you aren't ready to accept yourself and love youself, you sill want it from anothers, but all of it is fake bc they don't know real you so they don't love real you. "It is all fake love"...
flower isn't inside dom/latern bc it changed into sand anfer room exploded, you have latern full of sand when flower dissapared, I think flower was this perfect love from lyrics and it died, that is why you end with sand... and later when he moves sand petals are around flying bc this love is gone forever.

From the format I would have to guess it’s “genius” which isn’t the worst, but doolset will always be better bc they put in the extra effort of not only translating words but providing cultural references and wordplay explanations that are missed by non-Koreans.
Yes definitely recommend Doolset. Takes some getting used to but it's the only version that can give BTS lyrics what it deserves.

No BTS Universe, a história dos personagens é contada em duplas. Somente o Seokjin é solo por ser o personagem principal. Então como duplas temos: Namjoon e Taehyung (RM e V), Yoongi (SUGA) e Jungkook e, Hoseok (j-hope) e Jimin.
Namjoon ( RM ), trabalha meio período num posto de gasolina, e tem tendências a atos delinquentes. Nos MV's de I Need U e Run, tem algumas cenas dele e do Taehyung pichando paredes e até sendo pegos por policiais. Ele é a pessoa que o Taehyung tenta ligar, depois de ter matado o pai com a garrafa quebrada. Ele e sua irmã sofriam abusos do pai que era alcoólatra, então ele recorreu ao vandalismo como válvula de escape ao que ele vive dentro de casa.

Yoongi gosta de tocar piano, mas possui péssimas lembranças relacionadas ao piano, por ter fortes ligações com a sua mãe, que morreu quando ele era mais novo. O fogo é o seu gatilho, por isso ele vive segurando um isqueiro e já tentou se suicidar diversas vezes (colocando fogo no próprio quarto) como é contado no The Notes.

Jimin possui algum tipo de doença que faz com ele tenha convulsões frequentes, tendo que realizar visitas constantes ao hospital, abalando sua relação com seus pais e fazendo com que ele troque de colégio várias vezes. O seu trauma é um jardim botânico que ele frequentou quando criança, ele se perdeu da excursão e não conseguiu voltar porque começou a chover, então teve que se abrigar num "galpão" e algo aconteceu lá.

Considerado o personagem principal do BU, Seokjin adquiriu habilidade de viajar no tempo e consequentemente ficou responsável por tentar salvar os seus amigos, porém, ao mudar os acontecimentos do passado acaba gerando um efeito borboleta e Seokjin vai precisar encontrar o Mapa da Alma (Map Of The Soul,nome da Era/Album de Boy With Luv) para conseguir salvar todos.
