Just to let you know, Stray dogs has a prequel called ‘Stray Dogs-Dog Days’ and a standalone sequel called ‘Ferral’ both are currently available in trade format. I am hauling shelves for all of these books 😂
So glad you liked Stray Dogs. Stray Dogs-Dog Days is a prequel/spin off of the original series featuring the back stories of the other dogs and an expanded #1 which featured in the FCBD issue.
I'm glad you are here to experience our calm, level headed, reasoned and respectful presidential election! You found Strangers in Paradise, fantastic! You are going to enjoy it. He's my favorite Texas author which annoys my non comic literary friends who have no idea who he is.
Yes, the elections are certainly providing stand up comedians and late night talk show hosts with plenty of fuel! I hope you're weathering it all ok? I'm very excited to dive into Strangers in Paradise after all I've heard, and I, too, had no idea that Moore was from Texas, although that's not surprising in itself since I know nothing about Moore at all! 😁
@@ftloc Moore lives in Houston, which is a setting in the story. Like Jaime Hernandez, Moore understands women. Same with Larry McMurtry, whose novels for decades were admired equally by men and women I knew. "Katchoo" joins Valentina, Elektra, Maggie, and Modesty Blaise in the comic female pantheon.
Whoa Brecht Evens? Even I have The Wrong Place and The Making Of, having only read the latter, I will double the fact that work by Evens is something to be experienced ❤
Thanks for taking the time to check in & share. I feel the same way in single issues vs tpb collections. There is always a tug there. Not to mention I love to binge read runs at times (which isn't available in new single issues just released...but that may be impatience on my part😂). Thanks for the video and enjoy your time with your family brother. 🙏
Binge or long term reading is another reason to embrace the trade waiting indeed! Thank you for your wishes and here's wishing you a great time as well!
Strangers in paradise is easily one of the best things I’ve read. Katchoo and Francine became like real people to me. I find my self thinking of them from time to time even when I haven’t read the series in a while. Great pick up and I look forward to hearing how you like it.
@@sleepyreader666 we are laughing at this comment because that's exactly what Ashwitha and I did 10 minutes ago, just finished processing that extra payment 😁!
Amazing haul 🤩! Have you read Stargazing Dog? It is a must read! If not, do try to hunt it while you're in the states. Unfortunately it is not available online anywhere in India.
Hate Revisited, Ghost Writer and Celestia are the onlyof those books that Ibhave read. Strangers in Paradise is a book that I have loved but like most Terry Moores books I have not read completely. Most of the othera I was not aware of. So thank you for bringing those to my attention
I'm looking forward to all of them, but Strangers in Paradise will probably be first read once I'm back home (just for the size). Ghost Writer I'll probably finish in one sitting tonight 😁 and I'm excited about introducing myself to a cartoonist completely new to me!
Hard to beat the feeling of looking for and finding interesting comics from a comic book store. Ordering online just isn’t the same. Strangers in Paradise reminded me that I’ve often confused it with Love&Rockets🫣 I’ve never read either and looking from afar they looked a bit the same. I do have now my very first Love&Rockets trade in my TBR-pile to make me smarter on this issue. Interesting haul and so many books that are new to me. I keep being amazed how it’s impossible to know it all in comics even if you spend all your time online learning. Like an open world game so large you’ll never be able to do all the quests.
I can completely see getting Strangers mixed up with L&R, particularly Jaime's Locas works..black and white, women focused, clean and lovely art inspired in part by Archie comics... Once I read the series I'll know if there are more! Good to see you back and feeling better, hope the reading goes well and looking to catch up soon! And three sheet number and range of comics only becomes visible when in should, i feel, where the sense of discovery is exponentially magnified, as you say.
Strangers in paradise is just a magnificent series and a beautiful love story! Terry Moore as a comic creator is unique! Other series by him would be Motor girl, Rachel rising and Serial. Then again anything by Moore is worth reading!
I don't like ads at all! But interestingly, when I was a wee laddie, I was fascinated by the Popsicle, Hostess Twinkies, Crackerjack and other ads I saw in American comics...so exotic! 😁
In my childhood, yes, but now they are all lost to time. If you don't mind my broken Hindi, I talk about my 'origins' on this episode over at the NRI Studios Podcast th-cam.com/video/c5pNsH9aRiQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tmZP5Gp1tQRAWh_P
Strangers in Paradise... Meh... Managed to go through first couple hundred pages and gave up, shallow and repetitive. No love for Aimee De Jongh either, although she's a competent artist.

A cool comic-haul!!
Glad you enjoyed it, a few more to come!
As usual good editing😊

There's a 2-in-volume of Stay Dogs and Dog Days announced, which now makes me wonder of them do the same with two volumes of Feral!
6:51 I get Maurice Sendak vibes in this spread.
Bang on! Sendak immediately came to mind when I saw this book, especially the crosshatching!
So glad you liked Stray Dogs.

@GoreVidalComicbooks that's some company she's keeping! ♥️
We have the same opinion of I Hate Fairyland! I've got the first trade, and I was left thinking that it would have made a great one-shot 😂
Ah, interesting to know that it doesn't really twist away too much in the first trade's worth of issues...

The editing and production is getting better and better. Content has always been excellent. Just curious, what camera+lens are you using? :)
Thank you so much! I am using my EOS R, which has been my main camera for 5 years now, and an ultrawide 16mm lens I borrowed from my brother-in-law! 😁

It's an Indian comic based in time of feudal kerala
I have, although there were several years between vol 1 and 2 when I did; I should probably give it a revisit.
