To all who find this wonderful... thank you for it encourages and inspire us to be able to do more.
Most of the birds in here were rescued by H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. As we know Rinpoche is a huge ‪animal lover‬ and activist and would always make sure the birds/animals are well cared for, that they have the most comfortable home and natural environment and is well fed, that they have toys, etc. All this could amount to a lot... see here... www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/videos/help-the-birds-that-nobody-wanted.html
Any amount of donation would definitely be appreciated and go a long long way for the upkeep of these beautiful feathered friends.
We cannot do this without the support and contribution of kind donors.
To donate please go to the link above. Thank you.
Let's be kind to ‎animals‬... like us humans they deserve ‪‎happiness too.

Wheres the bird paradise, that glass dome with pretty much no vegetation?

Hi Rita, the environment of this bird paradise is exactly the same as the nature of forest where those birds used to live. What do you mean `glass dome`?

First of all, my thousand apologies if my comment will offend anyone.
To me, these are not "RESCUED BIRDS" These are imported birds from countries like Australia and from South America. These are bought locally. The more you buy, the more bird trappers will trap the birds to make some money out of it. From the time these birds are trapped to the time you buy them, there are many many which never make it alive. Just go to the pet shop and you will notice that there are dead birds in the crowded case everyday. This is NOT the way to "RESCUE" any animals.
One more thing, please stop practising the release of birds in any ceremony. WHY ?
    Well, do some research yourself.
Again my apology to anyone who has different opinion.

Thanks for your comment. Yes we understand that pet trade is killing the entire parrot species. These birds in Kechara Forest Retreat ARE RESCUED BIRDS in the sense that they were caged in pet shops or in captivity for years without any other activities they can do beside standing there, some 10 over years, some more than that. Most of them developed bad behavior such as feather plucking.
Tsem Rinpoche felt so sorry for them and would like to give them a better living environment. This is a humble place that we can provide and the parrots are doing better now, flying around and singing which they did not have the luxury to do so in the past.
We are not the best for them, but we can't released them either to our local forest as they don't belonged here, like you mentioned, they came from elsewhere, Australia, Indonesia etc.
As much as we would like to put them back to the wild, experts told us they could not make it to survive as they lost the ability to find food because they have been in captivity for so long time.
I went to pet shops and saw what you mentioned, I feel you.
We hope with the little efforts we are doing in Kechara Forest Retreat would help a little in making the poor animals feel better. Thank you for your comment.

please remove the mirrors. Mirrors are always bad

Hi Arekusu, Why are the mirrors bad?

    • @jacechong6464
      @jacechong6464 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Thanks for your advice on the mirror. The mirrors were removed. The usage of the mirror actually didn't work as the aviary is spacious enough for them to have fun. We found out after that. We will also look into mirror usage that would cause aggression. Thank you so much.
