Always listened to the Voice Of Peace when i was on peace keeping mission UNIFIL in Lebanon. I remember all the tunes of the VOP, brings back old memories.
I was in Israel during summer 1985 travelling around after finishing a stint on an archaeological dig in the Golan, but I could never pick up VoP during my three months there.
I lived in Gonen between 1982 and 1985 and, if possible, listened to The Voice. But only 100.00 on FM. The mw was too distorted. It, to me, was the voice of reason in this region. Right now it could get parties talking again don’t you think?
The Swedish UN troops deployed in northern Sinai peninsula from 1973 to 1979 listened to this station around the clock. The Voice of Peace will never be forgotten by either of us!
used to listen to it everyday in the early 80's from Damascus, Syria and loved it!!!!!..... lovely!!!Love you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I listened to the voice of peace, radio station, often, as I was a student in Tel Aviv, from 1984-1986, and also as I was practicing my rowing skills with other kids, in the port of Yafo sea scouts, you could not miss the appearance of that peace ship on the horizon. Thank you so much, for bringing the voice of peace recordings, they are all really good memories, and I wish that more recordings will be brought up on You Tube, it was an amazing time, the 1980s. Abie, we all love you, for ever!

This brings back memories. I worked on Voice of Peace in 1980. Did everything, deckhand, cook, even did the classical programme for a while. Loved every minute of it, one of the best experiences of my life. The DJ in the clip looks like Crispian St John from the back.

I wish I could listen that day they probably played all day only Elvis Presley records....wish i could record it on cassettes...i was just a baby in August 1977 , Voice of Peace was the BEST 💖💖💖
You have made "so many recordings? I´m very interest for your recordings. Especially I am interested in the radio messages sent, which were said as in the film, the Knesset in explanation need brought. Do you remember?
Just a cool radio station, picked it up in the evenings from the military base in Cyprus, made a refreshing change from BFBS Music....loved the jingles, and of course "Twilight Time"...happy days indeed.
Same Again, I was stationed in Cyprus 79-82 and BFBS , and The Voice of Peace, were two great stations, loved the Drink Cool Refreshing Water promos on VOP. Great times.

@pettymolly There is a 'hobby' station using the call sign online with its own web site, but, most of the broadcasters have had little contact with the original Voice Of Peace, they are using the call sign as a 'Tribute'.
@dalmations32 Thank you for endeavouring to correct me, but, I stand by my post. The 'hobby station' online is NOT the Voice of Peace, 'Radius 100' from Israel operate a Voice of Peace service too, and that is not the Voice of Peace. Most of the broadcasters are also NOT from the Voice of Peace, some are, but not all. Most are fans and lovers of the original station, excellent, but, it is not The Voice of Peace. This type of debate has been going on for years over at Radio Caroline.Peace :-)
.........MV-PEACE ........worked on board 1973.....bound .from Marseille to "somewhere in mediterranean" in international waters- because not allowed to get in any harbour. my best to the crew ,sailors passing by here Jean -( le roi de la campbell soup et des chicken wings , specialiste du distillating plant lol)

Good to hear Phil Brice's voice over at 0:17. Phil was at the VoP around 1975.
Lived in Israel from 1985-1994 and I have fond memories of the reading of "Desiderata", presumably read by VoP founder Abie Nathan.
