Oh my…switching those two rooms was genius!! If she does nothing else, the house still looks infinitely better. Anne, you and Alice rock!! ❤️❤️
Thank you Leslie!
I agree!
The way she had it before was very nice, but after you guys switched everything up in the rooms, everything is working so much better and looks cozy.
Thank you!
Beautiful great job ladies ❤
Thanks Dawn!
Thank you Dawn!
Thank you, Dawn....stay tuned! lol
It turned out gorgeous, love the mustard color idea. I done my whole house in mustard trim and cabinets with white walls. Looking forward to see part 2
I love mustard too!!
Thank you! Stay tuned!
Wow! Her home and belongings are beautiful!! And Anne, you and Alice are amazing at what you’re doing! I love that you ladies are trying to be practical, using what the homeowner has on hand first, and saving her money where you can. And, I loved where the blue bottles were set in the windows. It really catches your eye line as you look across the room. Great job ladies!
Thank you!!! It was a fun transformation!
Thank you for your comment. Yes, rearranging the blue bottles in the window made a huge difference
@@mchipman0163 Thank you for allowing us into your beautiful home, and on this delightful journey with you. 😊
I love that you’re doing this where you actually show the thought process into how to make changes❤❤❤. So glad you’re feeling better Anne❤. Love her home!
Thank you! Yes we had lots of thoughts I didn't share on video because... you'd have to take a day or two to watch it hahah. I'm glad it was helpful - that's what I wanted it to be.
@@AnneClay great job!
Thank You!
@@mchipman0163 you’re very welcome. I’d love to paint our kitchen cabinets too and my husband gives me that look and says how about just the walls? I had to chuckle 😂
I agree! The fact that they share their ideas and reasons for what they come up with, really helps those of us that struggle with decorating in this period.
Well done! Those fireplaces are gorgeous! Everything looks very nice!
Thank you Terri!
Thank you, Terri
Much better! You are on a roll!!❤
So much more to do but we made progress!
They made a huge difference today, didn't they?
@@mchipman0163 I loved it!
What fun it was to actually see how you and Alice made over the different rooms and also suggested paint colors. Some times we as home owners get stuck in our vision of what we want and need a little outside help to accomplish it. I love how you just shopped Michelles home, switched some rooms up and gave a whole new look with no cost. Can’t wait to see how it turns out once the rooms are painted and shutters on the windows. ❤
It’s true Brenda… we do all get stuck in our interiors and can’t always think out of the box. Always helps to have an outside viewpoint. I can’t wait to see it all painted too!!
Thank you for your nice comments....how lucky am I as a homeowner to have these two talented ladies here at my house.
Hi Anne and Alice. Looking forward to this. Glad you're doing better Anne. I love this beautiful home already! ❤

Gonna be fun!
Absolutely!
Yes, it has been and we are all looking forward to the next phase
This is so interesting to watch.....trying to capture that early American prim style can be such a challenge so we appreciate your ideas of what to do.
We had fun in this house.
It truly is challenging, Deanna and how lucky am I to have these two talented ladies in my home to help me!
It's looking great! Hope Michelle is loving it so far!!! Getting the eating area near the cooking hearth was a great start! I love the other room so much better as a sitting room too. Like Alice said, Michelle has so many nice things to work with. Can't wait to see what else you do!
Thanks Diana!
Thank you for your nice comments. I am loving the transformation so far....stay tuned!
Love love love the changes
When we first met Michelle and she shared her beautiful home with us, I must admit to being a bit skeptical. She mentioned her love of prim, early American, Williamsburg and Victorian. Her home had been renovated and indeed was lovely. Michelle seemed to want to put the soul back in her home. But I thought, what direction would she go? Choices would have to be made. And then you and Alice came on the scene and suddenly decor began to make sense and style began to emerge. It will be interesting to see how Michelle and Ron proceed. I was a docent and cook in an 1838 rather formal home and they had working paneled shutters in the living room that were so correct. Well done Anne and Alice.
Eloquently put as usual Bonnie!
@@AnneClay Awwww, thanks and so kind of you.
Thank you for your comments....how lucky am I to have Anne and Alice's here to share their expertise. Stay tuned!!!
This was great fun, Ladies. Love what you've done with the place. Hope Michelle and hubby like it too.
Thanks Barbara - they are very happy and Michelle has been going around tweaking it to her liking which is just wonderful!
Barbara, we love it....stay tuned!
Looking great!!!

I just loved this video, the home is beautiful, and moving the table and chairs in front of the fireplace was the best. It looks so cozy and who wouldn't love to sit there while eating. I cannot wait to see the paint changes. Please do share again.
Thank you so much!
Great job ladies!! I can’t believe the transformation…it looks amazing!✨
Thank you Terrie!
Thank you for your nice comment, Terrie....stay tuned!
I love everything you did.
Thank you so very much! Stay tuned for the next phase!
Thanks Rena!
Hi Anne. It IS all about moving things around. But an awful lot of people don't know where to start. Hope we get to c the kitchen cupboards and trim repainted. Thanks for great videos.
Hi Nancy! Oh yes. We’ll cover the entire transformation.
Moving furniture around I'd my favorite thing to do 😅
So glad your channel showed up on my feed today! As a veteran of many visual arrangement jobs, I was thrilled to see what you had to work with, and how well it all looked once you applied your arrangers artistic eye.
Before you said a word, my eye had flipped the table. It was fun to watch it happen. Lucky homeowner!
The only thing that caught my attention was the plan for the tv to be across from the window glare, given it's the recliner space.
Good point! It will be ok when they put the shutters on the window. They’ll be able to block out the light.
Thank you for commenting, Janet. We do have hidden cloth blinds on the windows to prevent glare on the TV.... a true factor when deciding on the TV placement though!!!
Wow, much much better, there is a cohesiveness to the down stairs. I mean its still Michelle stuff just arranged differently.
Exactly Michele - it's all still her and her stuff but we just moved things around.
Thank you for commenting.....it hade a huge difference! Stay tuned!!! lol
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks Kelly - of course ALL of the great items already belonged to Michelle so it was just a rearranging that we had to do!
Thank you, Kelly!
What a wonderful approach to making changes. Switching the rooms made such a difference.
It really did!
It sure did! Thank you!
I loved this video, very informative. Cant wait to see the new cupboard color and everything else.
Thanks Julie - I can't wait to see the new color too! It will make a world of difference!
It is so all very exciting.....stay tuned!
How exciting! Wish I could do this to our house. It’s an old school house that the SO grew up in. He hates change…………You both did a great job. Can’t wait for the paint!
Thank you Katherine! An old school house would be so fun to decorate! All my videos on “Gritty Prim” are on Karen Bouley’s old school house..: it looks darling in prim!
Thank you for your comments.....stay tuned!
Such a fun video. Cant wait to see all the changes.
Thank you!
Hi Anne. U guys did a GREAT job! I like it so much better. Hope the owner is liking it also. Going to b much more Early American when it is all said and dun..
Thanks Nancy - yes - they love it and that was the whole intention of helping her with that! She had so many great things - it was just about moving them all together and getting rid of some items that weren't needed.
We love it, Nancy! Thank you for your nice comment.
Great video, love it girls. I can’t wait for part two to see what’s next. ♥️
Thanks Marice!
Yes!!! Stay tuned!
very much enjoyed this..cant wait to see the next one..hope you are feeling better Anne❤ Becca M
Thank you Becca - I am.
We are so glad you enjoyed it! Stay tuned for part 2
Wonderful ❤
Thanks Laurie!
Thank you! Stay tuned! lol
Oh, my, that was fun!
Loved this video! Alice is so talented. I’m so on board with painting the white trim and cabinets/walls white. (I think the 3 hanging lights in the kitchen should be replaced with something else) I can’t wait to see the end results. It’s going to be amazing!!!!
It is going to be so fun!
Great job!!
Thank you!
Thank you....stay tuned!
Great job ladies!!! Beautiful home!!!❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Kathleen!
@@AnneClay ❤️
Wow looks so much better 😍
I think so too!
Amazing job Anne and Alice...glad you suggested white walls and a dark trim color for the downstairs, along with the shutters...also, paring down all the collection's everywhere, as the eyes didn't know where to look...minimal touches are spot on, maybe some redware pieces would look nice, as they have the mustard and red color, hence tying everything in for a cohesive look.
Hi Elisabeth! Yes red ware would look wonderful in there when they get it all painted!
And no better place to shop for affordable Redware, Old Sturbridge Village, made in the village and the proceeds help support the museum..😉
Boy don’t I know THAT one! Then for shop is always shocked when I go there and buy more! Haha
Hi Anne, I love when they have free shipping day's and thank heavens they reinstated the shopping online option within the last year..was at a lost for birthday and Christmas gifts, love David T. Smith's redware, but can get a bit expensive..
Found somewhere new you can go..Berlin and Millersburg Ohio to the Simply Goods and Early Times antique shows, held twice a year..Nov and April..we are going next April, already started the itinerary..😅 did speak to Lannie and mentioned the shows to her..road trip..Alice, Lannie and Anne, the three Colonialteers...and so many antique shops in Berlin and Seville Antiques, a must see in Seville Ohio..
Thank you for your nice comments...redware is on my radar for sure! Stay tuned lol
Did good
Thank you!
Amazing transformation !! Hope we see your recommendations happen. Great video . Would like to see more .
More to come!
Had you thought about the flexibility of a rolling TV stand instead of a wall or table placement? The generous rooms would allow for the TV anywhere on game night.
That’s a fantastic idea Janet!
I had not, Janet! Great Idea!! Thanks for commenting!
Fantastic!
Many thanks!
@@AnneClay will there be another video when the kitchen cupboards are painted?
All great ideas. Especially love the new dining table. For some reason I see the red pewter cabinet where you plan to put the secretary. Does that make any sense?
Thanks! Yes it could fit there quite nicely except that it also looks perfect where it is. We wanted to minimize moving around furniture as much as possible so that we wouldn’t scratch the lovely floors. Putting a secretary in the living room would be more in keeping with the colonial living room furniture scheme. It would be popular to have a nice desk and books for the colonial people to show off their intellect and education to their visitors.
I, too, did think of that. But, I like Alice's idea of having an dol secretary desk in the parlor to keep more of a colonial scheme. Thank you for commenting....please stay tuned!
Yard Sale!!!
I don’t think her home needs anything. It just dawned on me I prefer Colonial over prim. I had prim years ago and it was too dark for me, I love white cabinets and lighter airy feeling . ☺️💕
That’s so interesting Gina Maria. We often change tastes don’t we? I know I’ve settled into a mixture of prim and Early American myself.
@@AnneClay yes absolutely my style with some cottage the old farmhouse ☺️💕
I’ve been cottage style, Uptown Manhattan style, Northwoods, Beach Cottage, Lake Cottage, French Country…. And I’m sure more of n my lifetime! :)
@@AnneClay 😆👍💕
Hmmmm…..
when I decorate design someone’s house, I try to ask them and I’m sure you did what they are looking for
Totally understanding moving rooms, however, having a TV close to the kitchen actually is something that people need to have so that they can all congregate in one central location. That’s usually what my clients want a room that is away from everything is usually more of a den or a library that doesn’t have a TV.
But 🤷🏼♀️ …..
Absolutely, you bring up a good point. We were there for 9 hours and there was a lot of discussion around the location of the TV and when they watch it and how. They had already talked about moving the TV into that room the night before. There is also a setup for a smaller TV in their new living room left by the other owners. Moving the rooms was actually the owner's idea a few weeks earlier and we just followed up and helped them out.
Suzanne, great comments. Ron and I wanted the TV in the other parlor so it did not detract from our early american theme. We also are the ones who suggested switching the living room and dining room. Anne and Alice thought it was a great idea. A lot was discussed behind the scenes and everyone was on board with all the changes. Please stay tuned for part 2 soon!
I totally agree with you Michelle..the TV is not the main focal point of a colonial home, it is the beautiful fireplaces, paneling, floors, window treatments, floorcloths, furniture and smalls.
Hope she's got a ton of money
Just perfect!
Thanks Jody!
We appreciate your comment, Jody! We are loving the changes so far
